Well got the results from my sleep study. I have moderate sleep apnea. They will deliver the cpap in a few days. Mask still freaks me out, but we shall give it a try...

Ive had sleep apnea for about 3years now, It takes awhile to get use to the mask but now I can't sleep without it.

  • I got diagnosed with severe case of apnea. I got the CPAP and absolutely love it. I feel like a million bucks after sleeping with the machine. Plus another great side benefit is I can fart all I want

Just think of it as one more "weight" to tip the insurance approval scale in your favor ;). And once you're approved, have surgery and lose the weight you probably won't need the machine anymore!

It is somewhat of an annoyance and does take a bit of getting used to. I still can only wear mine 2-3 hours a night and usually wake up and pull it off my face at some point. If you don't have a headboard to drape the cpap tubing over, I recommend getting a stand that slips between the mattress to hold the tube over the bed. Then you don't get tangled up in it! You can buy on Amazon for less than 15!

Good luck!!!

I got diagnosed with severe case of apnea. I got the CPAP and absolutely love it. I feel like a million bucks after sleeping with the machine. Plus another great side benefit is I can fart all I want and not smell it with the mask on. 8-)

I told my wife that when I got home with the machine and rolled her eyes.

I know the cpap is going to help. Especially with the fatigue since I have ms. I just don't know how well I'll handle the mask because of my phobia.
