  1. It took me 4-5 weeks but i am 66.
  2. I was 66 when I had the surgery. How can Medicare be so different from state to state. I do know one thing that my surgeon did do one thing and contacted Medicare and got it thru somehow in 2 months after they passed the bill that they were paying. If you are going by what customer service at Medicare tells you, they do not know. When I called customer service they never heard of the sleeve. Have your surgeons office call my surgeon and find out how he did it. It would mean a lot more patients for him.
  3. I was given mine with the papers that I was sent home with at the hospital. I have never used it. My husband and I usually share or I order an appetizer. Most children's meals are not what I would eat. We did go to one place and they had a buffet and my husband would have loved to eat it but they would let me order a child's meal but not the child's buffet. I could have only ate a piece of meat but I just got angry and left. As I think about it now, I guess someone could print a card off the Internet and eat like crazy.
  4. I wonder why lot of people were given drains. I did not have one. Does anyone know hy.
  5. Dr Chris nothrup in Fairfield oh. He is a very knowageable man that teaches other doctors in other countries including our own. He did a good job on me. I. Have not had any problems yet and am 2months out. I respect the. Man and glad he is my dr.
  6. I increased my calories to 800 to 1000 and it seems this cold thing does not happen as often. About once a week it happens and I bundle up like you and turn the heating blanket on high and wait it out, usually a couple of hours. Once I get warm I turn blanket off and usually take off the really warm clothes. This is my experience.
  7. Not likely a leak at six months out.
  8. I refused to even do the test. I think it is a bunch of bull. Everyone I know that takes the test is told they have sleep apnea. Then they buy a machine or their insurance pays for it. Then they use it a few times and in the closet it goes. What a waste of insurance money or your own. I told my surgeon that I would not take the test. I also told the pulmonary dr the same thing and here I am 7 weeks postop. I guess it was not that important.
  9. The breathing machine they sent home with you, can you suck the ball up. You may have puemonia. Not normal for lungs to hurt. Call dr if this continues.
  10. I had surgery on nov 28 and I still get dizzy and off balance. Sometimes I have to grab onto something to keep from falling. I also hope it will pass soon.
  11. Way to go. You look great. Keep up the good work.
  12. Please think this over, it is not too late to back out. I am 66 with many health issues. I had this surgery for. My health. I wanted it, no one else wanted it for me. It changes your life more than you can imagine. I am 7weeks out and still can only eat 3-4 oz at a time and usually only twice a day. That is a half cup. Put a half cup on a plate so you can see how much this is. I am only telling you this because you need to want this for yourself. Did you see a therapist? Did you discuss this with them? Best of luck and may god bless you.
  13. You look like your daughter. Fantastic! Keep up the good work.
  14. It happens to all of us. At 3 weeks I stalled for 2 weeks and than lost 4 lbs. then I was stalled for another week and just lost 2. I guess for me this is going to be a trend.
  15. It only took 4 days till the pulling pain in the main incision was gone. Call your dr.
  16. Smoking effects your healing that is why they tell you to quit. I would not smoke too much in the next 3months until you are pretty sure you are healed.
  17. Ohio pays for the sleeve. Mine was paid for by Medicare.
  18. I take the batiatric fusion chewable vit and you take 3 a day. The mixed berry does not taste bad. It seems like a lot of vit but my nut says we need that much.
  19. A heating pad helped me. The pain lasted less than a week.
  20. I had Medicare and it paid for my sleeve. I live in Ohio.
  21. Leave the glue alone. It will come off when you are totally healed. I have never had bleeding or infection at my 5 incisions. I use menderma for the scars.
  22. 5'5" I want to weigh between 150 and160.
