I injured my knee last year causing my to gain 40+ lbs (possibly more- I don't know my heighest weight) I had always been very mobile and active for someone mg size (300+) and after that I felt truly helpless and immobile. It was the worst feeling ever. My knee is still kind of messed up and I know weight loss will help. Honestly I feel like I've 'outgrown' this city- NYC it's just NOT a good place to be fat in. There is so much walking, stairs, turnstyles- it's almost impossible to be far here and live okay- at least THIS fat. I want my life back, that's what I realized and that's my main motivation for surgery- to live a normal life here.

1- Sweating. With out a doubt my number one thing. I sweat in 20 degrees for crying out loud, don't even start me on the summer. It will be nice to actually keep my makeup in tact and not sweat it off before I even get where im going.
2- Getting out of breath. I get winded walking a block. Stairs are almost unbearable. It will be nice to walk s few blocks with out feeling like in dropping dead.
3- Normal clothes. When I say normal I mean anything below a 20. I wear a size 26- possibly 28 (Can we say denial? Didnt want to go up anymore) it be nice to be able to go into regular stores and seem like I belong.
4- Not having to worry If I'll be able to fit somehere- an amusement park ride, airplane seat, someones small car.
5- Not having a fear of judgement based on my weight. My weight is always in the back of my mind when doing things- going on a job interview, meeting new people, new classes with new professors. I always wonder if my weight is all they think of when they look at me- especially in the job world.

I love boca burgers. I've been eating them for years. Ive used the ground meat substitute with Mexican seasoning in tacos. Post op I would just add the seasoning serve with out the taco shell of course, melt a little cheddar cheese and add some FF sour cream and yum!

I love MIO. It's not as asidic is crystal light tends to be and they even have a sweet tea flavor which surprisingly tastes a lot like mcDonalds sweet tea! It's great and a nice change from the fruity type drinks.< /p>

Hi guys! I'm still pre op, I'm currently testing out Protein powders and I've read lots of good things about the taste of Mint Cookie and Cookies and cream Protein Powder from Sytrax Matrix line. I've also heard mixed things about whether Matrix is good for bariatric patients because I believe it's not straight whey isolate, but a blend of isolate and regular whey- though I have seen bariatric patients drinking it. Thoughts on this? I want to know if its going to be a good thing to purchase before I go through with it. Thanks all!

This is fun to think about! Let's see...
Shop at Victorias Secret, Express and Zara
    Wear boots
Go to the Water parks and amusement parks and not be afraid of weight restrictions
Further my career goals with out fear of judgment of my size
Zipline (I'm afraid of heights but I would do this if I ever got to my goal weight- just for the 'I can' factor)
Learn to ride a bike- this is sad but I never learned because I've always been fat, uncoordinated and afraid. I want to cross that off my list
    Go hiking
Compete in a race. I don't care the distance, how fast I go, but to be able to.
Cut my hair short just because- and not fear my head looks like a basketball
I'm sure I have a ton more lol

whey Protein Isolate is the gold standard, but if it uses whey Protein concentrate or even just regular whey protein it is still good and perfectly acceptable for our use.
The only caveat being that if you are lactose intolerant stick to the isolate.

The park is a great idea and my first choice too. How about a pot luck picnic- sleeve friendly of course. Everyone can bring one dish that would be WLS friendly- depending on how many people, everyone may not have to bring food since too much would be a waste with lots of sleeve sized tummy's lol.
Who is seriously interested in this? If we have enough people lets try something for mid September is that works for everyone!

My kids swear he's a Vulcan. They say it's obvious with his very dry/ lack of humor and that he doesn't smile much. They also said his ears have a bit of a point. Ha!
But as for the topic of this post- I am glad he did a show for those of us with more than 15 pounds to lose. I'm not a fan of his because he seems to promote fads most of the time. Also, if we followed every weight loss tip he had, we would be taking thousands of $ in supplements a month and possibly even contradicting ourselves on a daily basis and maybe doing more harm than good.

I remember once tuning into his show after a teaser that said"eat what you want and still lose the weight" it turned out to be eat substitutes that are low carb and small portions and lose weight. I startled my kids when, during the show, i screamed out "you"re a charlatan,"

Hi everyone! I wanted to make an announcement letting you all know that Sleevie Wonderland has made me the new group owner and myself and Larae will now be moderators. A little bit about myself- my name is Robin, I'm 23 from The Bronx. I'll be sleeved in October- counting down the days! I'm really excited to get this group going again and have some fun things planned! One of the big things for me is finally planning an official meetup for us New Yorkers. There has been interest in it but nothing official planned and that's something I think we should really get going. So on that note any idea's or suggestions for a meetup? I would love if we could make this a regular thing every few months. Let's get this thing going!

My body shape is so strange. I'm smaller on top (tiny boobies always lol) with a big butt and thighs- though I'm not quite a pear. And I have a big tummy- but definitely not an apple. I've always called myself a papple lol. I definitly hope my body shape changes a bit with weight loss. When I lost weight years ago my shape changed a lot- I lost most of my apple-ness and I looked more straight up and down- I don't even know what you call that lol- except with a booty still. Im convinced that if I never gained weight ( always been big) I would have the figure of a boy lol

Thanks pink! I don't know what I'll do when I finally get my date, probably run around screaming like a crazy person! LOL! I've been through the process for WLS before but never got all the way and gotten a date- something always happened so I think when I actually have a date it will make it REAL this time. Good luck to you on your surgery! Yay that's only a short time away!
