  1. Ok all you successful post surgical sleevers. I am interested in hearing about what seems to be most successful: Low carb higher fat diet with exercise or low fat diets which seems to have higher carbs. I also wonder if the higher fat, high protein, low carb helps with hair loss. Let the comments and education begin
  2. Let me know. This is all very interesting.
  3. Elindoll I'm glad you went to the ER. I have had the ear issue as well I can hear myself talking to people but I feel like my head is under water. I just attributed it to pollens and cotton trees since I live near Denver. Perhaps I need to focus on more water. It is something I struggle with.
  4. Cooked today so I have the ricotta bake and the avocado devils to take to work. Yummy! Think I will take some cheese to work to nuke in the microwave to make some cheese crisps. Totally a low carb, high protein day.
  5. Webchickadee well said. I had reflux before surgery but it went away a I lost during the pre op phase. Then it came back with a vengeance after surgery... Usually at night. Prilosec clears it right up.
  6. Karen I'm kind of like you. When I was younger I could eat huge orations like a man. Fter 35 I gained 90 lbs eating like that. I had surgery on 6/25. My head still craves some things but I'm on mushies and losing really slow. My sleeve restricts me to about 1/4 cup. If I eat 1/2 cup I feel too full. I know by this time next year I will be able to eat very small amounts of some things I like. If you are on soft /mushies you can get taco bell's pintos and cheese and add a little sour cream. Hang in there, you will get to your goal slowly and you will be thankful you did this. Take care ????
  7. OMG so yummy. Nobody in my family likes avocado so more for me.
  8. Daniel I'm sorry you are going through so much trouble. I had that feeling in my throat when I took too big a bite or ate too fast. I actually get hungry a bit and have to reel myself in to eat slow and small. There is always a little fear that my tummy will feel too full or I will have problems swallowing. After I thee up the first time I threw up I realized I really needed to listen to my body. I don't know how else to support you other than take it way and listen to your body. We are all in this new journey together.
  9. Thank you Dooter. I checked my Fitness Pal and I was at 38 percent today. Looks like the refried bean have a considerable amount of carbs.
  10. Good for you! All of us should take a mental health day once in awhile.
  11. Good luck and just look forward to your new life afterward it gets better and better each day.
  12. May sound crazy but take your own Tylenok and Tampax if you may need them. I stayed at the Marriott in TJ. I had a horrible headache and went to the Marriott's "store". They charge for Tylenol and Tampax by the pill and pad. Crazy huh?
  13. I am looking for the best carb level that promotes optimum weight loss. I know we should be aiming for at least 70 grams of protein. Anybody with success please let me know.
  14. Mr_Worm, I see that low carb is the way that leads to weight loss as well as lean protein. I cannot find info on the VSG site about how low our carbs should be. Do you have any suggestions that led to your success?
  15. I loved reading everyone's story about their experiences. It has helped me through my slump of a stall for 5 days
  16. Dorrie how long since you have been sleeved?
  17. It is interesting with the different diet stages with different doctors. I had my surgery in Mexico and the diet I was advised follows the Vanderbilt sleeve diet. I had a week of clears, a week of full liquids and now a week to three weeks of soft foods such as blended meats/moist, soups, oatmeal and grits or cream of wheat, scrambled or soft eggs and yogurt. I tried my first soft food of Greek yogurt and refriwd beans with a little cheese puréed together. Yummmm! My sleeve tolerated it well.
  18. Wow! Seems today I can get a mouthful of liquids down instead of sipping. After almost 3 weeks of various fluids, I'm trying some puréed Beans today can't wait until Monday which is my third week. I'm learning what too much canned Soup does to my body (water retention). I think I will follow your lead and take up weight lifting. You are an inspiration.
  19. No don't worry. We all have a stall our bodies are balancing out a bit and we will start losing weight again. I'm 11 days out and have lost weight in 3 days either.
  20. I think u was a terrible tipper. I tipped my drivers 5 dollars each way as well as my maid who cleaned my room one day
  21. Good idea! I have my measurement from before surgery. I think I will take them each month.
  22. Yay! I didn't cover my drain hole today. It looks like a small puncture hole and is healing from the inside out.
  23. OMGolly! Aspirin Evangelist....you are like the shrinky dink woman
  24. I was sleeved on 6/25. I lost 10 pounds pre op. I have no idea how much I gained in fluids in the hospital but I have lost 8 pounds post op. my doctor gave me a week of clears. A week of full liquid ( which I'm on now), week 3 is puréed, week 4 is mushies, week 5 is soft and week six is gradually introducing regular food. Today I broke down and had 7 small watermelon balls. I squished them to liquid in my mouth and chewed the mush to liquid. Do you all think that is considered full liquid? It was wonderful
