I am looking for the best carb level that promotes optimum weight loss. I know we should be aiming for at least 70 grams of Protein. Anybody with success please let me know.

I was told to keep carbs at around 30% of my intake for the day. I try to stay lower than that because I seem to be fairly insulin resistant (most of us hefties are!!), so the farther under 30% I can get, the better. That's just me though. Any carbs taken in should, ideally be from fruits and veg, and whole grains and such. Be really picky about the carbs you choose.

Thank you Dooter. I checked my Fitness Pal and I was at 38 percent today. Looks like the refried bean have a considerable amount of carbs.

I have done best with my weight loss when I keep my carb count under 20, the most I ever consume is 30 carbs in a day. When I really want to amp up my weight loss or get out of a stall, I take the carb count down to zero by eating lots of dense Protein (chicken, salmon, beef, tuna, etc).

That's just me though. You will have differing opinions on the carb count thing. You will want to experiment what your body responds to and use that as your gauge.

I dont remember where I saw this but

Under 30g carbs = rapid weight loss

50-100g = some weight loss

100-200g = will maintain the weight you are at

and over 200g you will gain weight

from personal experience I would say that those figures are pretty accurate :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
