  1. Wow! You've lost 15lbs before your pre-op diet. That's terrific! Yes, I say go for it. Get an extra large slurpee, and then put those things to rest, forever!
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm 12 days post op and feeling great! Down 17lbs so far, and pretty happy about that. Physically, it's been easier than I expected. Mentally, I wasn't prepared for the challenge. I miss eating, and chewing. I've been dreaming of it. I think as soon as I get to the mush stage, I'll be much better. Having support is the key. surround yourself with like minded people. This forum has been a big help also!
  3. My family and I were there for 5 days. We bought bottled water, but forgot to carry it with us a few times. I drank the water from the restaurant, and used the hotel/hospital water to brush my teeth. No issues, Everything was fine. Cancun caters to tourists, so maybe they're extra careful!
  4. Have you measured lately? You may have lost inches with the intense work-out..The scale is important, but dont forget your getting healthy and shaping up as well!
  5. Sounds like alot of people have trouble with the protein shakes. Keep trying different brands and flavors until you find one you can tolerate. I use EAS vanilla soy protein mix, 8oz lowfat milk and 1 tblespn Hill Bros Cappuccino-french vanilla, and 1 tblespn lowfat natural peanut butter. This makes two or three meals for me, and I love the flavor.
  6. I'm 8 days post-op. Does that mean all the little gurgles and what feels like hunger pains is acid or gas or both? Im taking Omeprazole once a day, Maybe I should increase it? Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread, bu t I had the same question about the hunger part.
  7. Hi Citygurl, Kudos, for deciding to up your exercise! I am 8 days post op and haven't started exercising as of yet. My plan is to start walking on Monday, twenty-thirty minutes and see how I feel. This site is a treasure of info, and everyone is very supportive! Welcome newie...
  8. I didn't go alone to Mexico, I took my family and we made a mini vacation out of it. Cancun is very safe. Not sure about other cities. Every city has places that women should not hang out by themselves. Just use your comon sense and you'll be alright!

  12. Call from someone elses phone....LOL
  13. Praying you made it home, and are there with your babies now! Still praying for a complete healing. Did you have a lot of complications when you were banded?
  14. 48 hours for me. I was hooked up to an IV for 47 1/2 hrs of that. Guess they do things differently in Mexico.
  15. Ten day pre-op diet. 3 Protein shakes and in between yogurt, cottage cheese or broth. Lost ten pounds before surgery. I was proud of myself. It's the first diet I didn't cheat on!
  16. I think i'm going to mourn Diet Coke more than anything!
  17. Yep, all normal. five days since surgery, and finally did something besides pee. I'll be happy when the gassy, bloated feeling subsides. I have used the gas-x strips and they help.
  18. Hugs and prayers coming out to you now! Try and stay positive. Hopefully when the swelling goes down all will be well....
  19. Had surgery on Friday and my nose is running. I would rather it be something related to surgery and not a cold! But not a clue what it could be. Anyone out there experianced this?
