  1. First time I've heard this term, but it sounds great! i wouldn't mind reading some replies to this question.
  2. Hi Erika, Sounds like your making a good decision. Sorry the lap-band didn't work for you. I thought about the lap-band, but decided against it. Now scheduled for a sleeve 6/15/12 in Cancun with Dr.Verboonen. I think your going to do great. Your young have a wonderful attitude. Plus your a cutie! You may have to change your email address..LOL
  3. I like the banana idea. Someone mentioned putting a spoon of peanut butter in it. Xtra protein and makes it taste good.
  4. Erika, You are a genius! Never, would I have thought of checking with the local WLS about counseling. I've been afraid of someone talking me out of going to Mexico. I 've heard the hardest part of WLS is your own head..I will definitely check into it! Terri
  5. Ok, now I'm feeling a little better..Thanks guys! Love the amount of info and encouragement I'm finding on this site. I understand some people have to go through Pych evaluation, and classes before surgery. Being a self pay in Mexico, this is it for me..
  6. Wow! That's fanstastic...So happy for you!
  7. Thanks Anais, Still sounds unsafe to me..I will not chicken out, I will not chicken out...LOL!
  8. Yep, time to move on to a new PCP. No Doctor should tell you what your capable of, EVER! God is the ultimate physican, and your Doc is not God! After you lose all the weight, stroll in and let her have a look-see, at what you and your God can do!
  9. Has anyone heard of having your pre-op lab work done on the same morning as your surgery? Im scheduled for surgery in Cancun on th 15th, with Dr Veboonen and was informed yesterday, that all of my lab work, pre-op tests will be done that same morning. Does that sound odd? Thought they may need a day to make sure everything is normal and good to go before surgery...Really getting scared now!
  10. Hi Neeve, Sorry to hear that your not feeling well. Since Im 14 days pre-op, I can't really comment if that's normal. I would definitely call my Doctor and see if he can prescribe or recommend something to make you feel better. I have asthma also, the muscus thing is a little scarey! Prayers and hugs coming to you from the Midsouth.
  11. Did you say stomach muscles, what are those? LOL! On your pre-op diet, What was your favorite protein drink?
  12. I'm close to your age and same height. I'm hoping for 135-145lbs myself. When I was young i stayed between 120-130lbs but now that Im a little older and dont feel the need to please anyone but myself, I'll settle for a few more pounds..Barbdoll is right, we're all different go until you feel comfortable.
  13. I have my sleeve scheduled in Cancun for Jun16th with Dr.Sergio verboonen. We're going a few days early, sort of a mini-vacation before the operation. I will be happy to report all that happens if that helps to ease your mind. Terri
  14. I think I'm afraid someone will talk me out of it....How are you feeling? Are you in pain, hungry? I'm suppose to go back to work after a week off, maybe I need to rethink that. Praying God's healing touch over you now. There's power in the word, and it says " By his stripes we're healed". Terri
  15. Hey Boots, Thanks for asking this question. We will be going to Mexico 3 days before surgery and was wondering the same thing.
  16. Thanks! Great idea. TSA is the biggest issue. I haven't purchased my Protein drinks as of yet. Do they sell them in indivual packets like crystal light? I was planning on going to GNC and walmart tomorrow. My Doctor is in Mexico, I havent spoke with him yet. Mostly reading as much as I can on this web site. Thanks again! Terri
  17. I start my pre-op diet on June 2nd. I have to take a trip to NYC on June 4th. And will be flying most of that day. " it's an out and back trip", Since im not allowed to carry on liquids over 3oz I, was wondering if there are any suggestions as to what to drink?
  18. Sorry to hear that your having a hard time. I will pray God speeds up your recovery! When were you sleeved? Since I wanted my surgery to be a private thing, I haven't told my church family or co-workers. We just need to pray for each other. Terri
  19. Not finding any posts. Am i the first? Let me say I'm proud to be in this group!
  20. Mary, I'm sorry you feel so sick. What is your Doctor saying about all of this? I'm sending a hug, and saying a prayer for you. Think positive, and let's claim your healing now! Terri
  21. Hi, Not from Arkansas, but not too far from you in North Mississippi. Im scheduled for a sleeve on Jun15th in Cancun...I'm suppose to start my liquid diet on the 5th, but may start early just so I can get use to the idea of no solid food for weeks..LOL!
  22. Hang in there Lizzyshade. Everyone who has had the surgery says it gets better. You may want to call your Doctor later this morning and advise him of the Nausea, maybe he will prescribe you something. It's all going to be worth it!
  23. Hang in there, it will get better! The surgery is a tool to help you eat less, but if your a food addict, it can't help you with that..I saw an earlier post from someone saying that the constant hunger pangs was gas, and she added prilosec and that did the trick..Good Luck Terri
