  1. Sorry your not feeling well! If cold apple juice is tasting good, and it isn't bothering your sleeve, keep sipping it! Hang in there, it WILL get better!
  2. Not just you. Lots of things, especially liquids, taste different now. I guess it's a good thing in a way, for me. I used to love, love, love sweet tea, chocolate milk, OJ, things that had a ton of empty calories. Now, i could care less.
  3. Listen, You can DO this! Yes, it's hard. Your body is trying to detox all the crappy stuff. Hang in there, and stick to your pre-op diet. Repeat after me, I can do this!
  4. I'm leaning towards "Slim- Pickins," Cause it sure doesn't hold much!
  5. I'm sorry to hear that your in the hospital. Praying you have a quick and total recovery!
  6. Sorry JR! Too busy goofing off and did not answer your question....Yes, I tried some Doritos at about 8 weeks post op. I think they were called Spicy Chili. I had 3 and they were wonderful. Didn't bother my sleeve at all.
  7. Can't wait to walk down the hall, and not hear the sweesh, sweesh, of chubby thighs rubbing together!
  8. Sit her down, take a deep breath, and tell her just what you told us. She may surprise you. You might add, your not telling EVERYONE, but you wanted her to know, because her support means so much.....Good luck!
  9. Don't give up, fight! That's the joy of insurance companies, the ones who give up. Continue to call, call, call until they are sick of hearing from you. It's exactly why I went to Mexico/self pay.
  10. I completely understand the "head craving," crazy part. At three weeks post op, I licked a BBQ chicken wing to it's death! I was in heaven......
  11. Welcome to the Forum, and soon to be the LOSERS CLUB!
  12. You don't need a reason. I use to get them before surgery, just for the energy boost. I get them monthly now.
  13. In the south, you can get them at the Krogers Pharmacy, Walgreens and at some minor medical places for $15.00
  14. I saw something on TV about the effects of Ambien, and I will never use it again. Sleep walking, talking, eating, driving and having sex. Things, a person really wants to be awake for!
  15. The hotdog, mashed up should be o.k, but you may want to wait on the corn.
  16. YOU can do this! Get back on track, and no more cheating. VSG is a tool and it works, but it can't do it for you. You have to get your mind set for this surgery, and the post op diet is just the beginning. Good luck!
  17. Wow! I started at 225lbs and goal is 135 for me. Thanks for the inspiration!
  18. I agree completely with Sassy. Stalls are going to happen. Keep getting in your protein, and fluids. Try upping your exercise, and get out the tape measure. I've found, on the weeks when I didnt lose much, I've dropped inches.
  19. I've been eating sushi since post op week four...No problems, my sleeve seems to really enjoy it! That and hot n sour soup, yummy!
  20. Six weeks post op. I had 3 tablespoons, went down well and boy was it yummy! My sleeve does well with pasta of any kind. My sleeve does not like any variety of bread.
  21. Don't let anyone discourage you! If anything, use it as fuel, to prove to your Doctor what YOU can do! This tool is yours to use, and you can do it!
