    I cannot wait to not..
Worrying if I can buckle my seatbelt
That they will sit me at a booth in a restraunt
Fear of not being able to sit in the seats at concerts, sporting events etc.
Worrying if I can fit in the seats at a beauty salon
My lower back hurting when I walk
My upper back hurting from being to busty (Hopefully I lose boob)
Getting out of breath when I walk
Hearing my extended family (you know those you only see once a year at a big family function, great aunts and uncles, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cousins) saying things like "Wow you've become a big girl" "I remember you when you was this big, you was so small" and crap like that.
I have a friend who decided about 6 months ago he was going to lose weight and work out. And he did he lost about 35lbs in 5 months. During that time he REALLY bashed me and put me down for my weight. Rubbing it in my face that I couldn't do as much as he could, and how much he was losing etc. He really made me feel bad about myself. I can't wait to the day he can't do that to me anymore!
Not having to feel like it's killing me to tie my shoes..oh and when I tie my shoes they won't be tied on the side..lol.
I can think of a lot more things I can't wait to do lol like being able to ride a roller coaster and not worrying about fitting in the seat, being able to wear boats..those tall ones! Wearing dresses, I am going to wear tons of dresses! Riding a bike, hopefully get a few dates and meet someone nice..lol. When I go to weddings dancing my butt off, swimming and not feeling like a whale, or some freak..oh and have an actual swimming suit. The past two years I combined shorts/skirts, and shirts to make my own make shift swimming suit. I want an actual one! OK got off track sorry.

Well I made it to one month! The journey has been a very happy one so far. I have struggled with stalls and trying to perfect the diet but all in all I couldn't be happier. Yesterday I went to Nordstrom's and Dillard's and was actually able to shop there! My "comfort jeans" were a 48 and this weekend I was cruzing around in 40's! I couldn't tell you the last time I was able to buy nice clothes! Here is a couple pic's from yesterday and a starter pic. I am down 30lbs since surgery and 70 since I began the journey. Good luck to everybody this Thursday (Thanksgiving)!!!!!!!

KatieOkieDokie got a reaction from makemyownluck in 289 Lbs To Go. Is It Even Possible?!
I have a higher BMI, I'm around 70 (I'm 5'4 and when I had my consult with my surgeon I weighed in at 422lbs that was two weeks ago). He will not perform surgery on anyone whose BMI is too high for safety reasons. The liver being enlarged, bruising, etc. He said he would like me lose 75 lbs before he would perform surgery on me. I have a three month diet where he wants me to lose 60, and the last 15 will probably come off during my four week pre-opt diet (or more).
They put me on a 3 and 2 diet that is taken from the Medifast 5 and 1. I eat three high Protein Snacks. I have a Protein shake for Breakfast which I eat around 8:15 why I don't know I just do..lol. Then around 10:30 I eat a Protein Bar which is actually really yummy. Then I get a lean and green meal. Which consists of a lean meat (turkey, tuna, chicken), and a green veggie I always eat green Beans, I am not someone who likes change and can eat the same thing over and over again. lol. Then at 3 I have another Protein Shake, and at 5 another lean and green meal. I do mix the meat up with this meal, but not the veggie, I eat broccoli. I only eat around 800 calories a day. However, I started this diet this past Monday and I now weight 415lbs have lost about 2lbs a day. I was told not to start walking (which is part of it) until the second week. So I'm curious to see how much it will add or subtract from my loss!
My doctor also told me that he thinks that the Sleeve is good for me because of my BMI, I thought I had read that the sleeve was best for those with higher BMI's but I maybe I am mistaken?
Anyway, I do agree with some who said the best thing to do is to start now trying to eat right, and losing weight if you feel that you may have too. I was told to ditch all the bad habits before even meeting with the doctor which I tried to do. I stopped drinking pop, I haven't have sugar or chocolate since Feb. I drink TONS of Water and I'm at the point that I don't like drinking anything but Water and Protein shakes (and yes I like my Protein Shakes even the ones I mix from powder lol I'm starting to think I'm strange.. that may change after surgery though..lol).
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck!! Sorry if this is long.

I went through the same thing. I was so invested in the surgery by the time I realized my money was not going to be enough. I had no one to ask for what I was missing, or to co- sign a loan. I went into my 401K and took the money that I needed.

Internal bleeding can also happen because your vessels don't close off enough (or fast enough) after they make the cut to remove your stomach (just an FYI moment for those who asked). I had it as well.
Lux I had major complications, including internal bleeding which caused a large ball of blood to spend a couple of months in my abdomen after the surgery (I only needed two transfusions...your really went through the wringer). At four weeks out I was a week away from a long hospital stay because the spasms the bleeding caused probably caused my leak. You are sure there is no leak right???? I understand the lack of ability to take Protein or fluids, and went through it myself. The weakness is hard to describe to anyone who hasn't suffered as you have. I couldn't walk down the hallway without passing out myself so again, I feel for you!
I took it one day at a time, and did in the end fire my original doc and move onto another one because he wasn't listening to me. Are you feeling that you are getting proper care??? Don't hesitate to "move on" if you need to.
You probably don't want it...but a JG tube might be an option for feeding if you just can't get it in on your own. I personally rejected mine, but many people find them successful and you can't go much longer without proper nutrition. A week on it might be enough to get you strong again so that you can take over from there??? Have you explored this with your doctor?
At five weeks I was in an ambulance headed for a huge hospital in the "big city" because the damage was killing me. While you might have an easier ride cuz you know the team (My guys were actually wonderful) I don't want to hear you end up taking that ride!!!! Please take care and keep us informed. I am a firm believer in sharing the bad stories with the good ones. I personally still regret the risks I took for this surgery (I was low Bmi and supposedly low risk LOL...BS!) While weight loss is lovely...it's not worth it for someone like me (IMO). I get your side of the story far too well!!!

May I ask what caused the internal bleeding, and was you having kidney issues before the surgery and the internal bleeding worsen it, or was it a direct side effect of the internal bleeding?

I was wondering if anyone had/has to do the 3 and 2 diet? This is where you eat/drink 3 shakes or Protein Bars, and 2 green meals a day. I am started this diet Monday for the next three months and I was wondering if anyone else had to do a diet like this, and how it was? I'm so scared I'm going to be hungry..which I probably will..lol. Any tips would be great!

I am scheduled for surgery November 6th. My biggest fear is complications......I have had spine surgery and a hysterectomy so I am no stranger to PAIN....the thought of a complication just freaks me out. I found this on an obesity surgical center's website in the patient info section. I brought me comfort....
    Possible Complications
Gastric Sleeve (gastrectomy) complications are relatively rare and when they occur most likely it is during or very shortly after the procedure. These are generally not life threatening and can be managed safely either surgically or non-surgically.

Complications can happen with any procedure and are just par for the course, but it is a very small chance (less than 3%) that something will happen. I had the procedure done a little over 4 weeks ago - not a single complication, healed up beautifully, down 23 pounds and feeling AWESOME!
I knew that the risk of me having obesity related complications in life was much higher than the risk of me having the procedure. I am so grateful I went through with it. I have NEVER lost 23 pounds on my own and know that without this tool I would not be this far.
Good Luck to each of you. You will all do great! See you on the loser's bench soon....

Wait, you can't compare yourself to others. When have you ever lost 40+ pounds FOREVER in a few months? Even starving at WW did I not hit this goal.
Give yourself some credit and applause. At this rate, in under a year you will be at goal. That, my friend, is a miracle thanks to our sleeve.
Hugs - and congrats on what you have lost.

TMI doesn't bother me! This has been discussed around here before anyway. I noticed a difference sexually as soon as I started losing weight (pre-op) but the penetration thing didn't become an issue until I was 80+ pounds down. The first time I hooked up with my friend with benefits post-op it hurt tremendously. He's used to being able to just got to town but I had to tell him to ease up or stop a few times. Afterward I told him I was mad because he "punched my cervix." lol It was a crazy difference. I saw him twice post-op, with the same problem each time.
The guy I'm currently dating (and no longer seeing aforementioned guy) is very skinny but still well-endowed. I am -125lb now so there's a HUGE difference. I haven't had any pain due to depth issues (he's not as big as FWB) but I get a deeper feeling because he's narrower than what I'm used to and there's less of me to get through. The sex has been amazing! I know it's a combination of the weight loss and the chemistry. It's been a long time since I've been with a guy I liked and cared about this much.
And only better things to come, my dear!

    Hi, I'm Noelle.
I had the sleeve installed on Nov 1, 2012. It took over two years to get there but I finally made it. I'm still in considerable pain but I suppose that is to be expected. I'm suprised over how much my arms hurt. I guess pulling my giant body in and out of bed to avoid using my abs as something to do with that. My left hand is also incredibly swollen from the IV.
Anyway, no regrets and I'm super excited to start my new life.

BSV- big scale victory!!! I've made it to TWO-TERVILLE (such an odd name) and never going back!!! This happened anout a week ago but I kept forgetting to take a picture. Yes, I wanted to take a picture of my scale! lol I haven't been in the 200's since I was probably 15 or 16. I still feel like such a big girl because I have the same shape but just smaller. A fair amount of family and friends know about my surgery but none of them know my numbers so I feel like this is the only safe place to share.
NSV- You can actually see my dimples when I smile now!
NSV- My father and I have now lost about the same amount of weight (around 115lbs). He's not a WLS but lost a lot with Atkins years ago, gained half of it back. Then his doctor put him on a plan called Bella Nutra. He lost what he gained back and then some. I really hope he can keep it off because he's almost 60 and I really worry for him. There's a lot of obesity and heart disease in our family. Anyway, this is the skinniest I've seen him in my entire life so I had to get a picture of our accomplishment.
