Just Get Up And Do It
Thanks Ladies!!! I do park far at work but its because I have no choice, there are no parking spaces, lol!! Carolinagirl- dont be embarrassed NO MATTER WHAT. And I'll tell you why, when people see you taking a class they see someone trying to make a difference. I know what I look like, especially during class trying to salsa and tango. There are mirrors all around that workout room. But there are others maybe further behind me on the road to wellness as well as people a few miles ahead of me on that road. I just remember to keep walking on that path and someday I will catch up! Carolinagirl- lets go for a walk!

Just Get Up And Do It
I have scheduled and dismissed about 10 workout classes these last two weeks. I keep researching times and locations close to either work or home to make a class, but when the alarm goes off, I just ignore it. Classes are so much better for me than treadmill. I know it doesnt look like it but it keep me interested. Last night I packed my gym bag and had planned to go straight to work after cleaning up post work out. But I didnt do it. I weigh in weekly at the gym and I missed my weigh in for yesterday. Im tempted to stop in to weigh but I just want to go home especially since I volunteered to work an extra hour to help out the department. The eating has improved, AND I called and scheduled to see my lap band surgeon on Monday. Maybe he will give in and give me a fill 3 weeks early. I have to continue and not give up. Im so tired right now....

Best Breakfast Idea - What Works For You?
Whats tripping me up in my Quest to have DAILY on track meals is my rush out the door each morning. I need ideas for a grab and go meal that I can have. Im so bad that I end up going through a drive thru for a quick fix, which irritates my BF and makes me shamefully throw the rest of my day away. I'd like to believe that I would wake up early, work out, and make a good high Protein Breakfast but so far that hasnt happened. What works for you? P.s, while I love the Protein shakes and can do them every once in a while, I would like to CHEW my breakfast a couple of times a week!

Any Advice Having Surgery Monday
Take your time sitting up and getting out of bed. Be patient with yourself in the bathroom (tmi, I know) because it HURTS. I remember I got my period hours after surgery! So irritated, but I survived, and you will too! Congratulations- dont forget to plan for the new you!

Ice Cream Is The Devil--Whats Your Kryptonite?
I can polish off a pint of Ice cream since I have no restriction and Ive done it twice so far about 2 weeks ago. And I honestly dont ever want to have it again. for me it truly is about being out of sight, out of mind. I have more issues with portion than types of food. I was good for about 4 weeks after surgery, realized I had no restriction and wouldnt have it for another 8 more weeks and went to town almost eating like I used to eat before. I do have some moments of getting stuck, but I so dearly dream of getting my first fill.

Banded But Not Restricted
So I take it you only have to make it through this weekend, since you're getting filled on Monday. Hmmm.. I guess a lot of it would have to do whether you are going with a low carb or a low cal diet after restriction. Get back to practicing all the chewing you are going to have to do and finalize the idea of not having certain foods anymore since the restriction will be officially in place. Prepare yourself by stocking up on the high protein liquids/meal replacements for the first part of the week after the fill. Practice sipping your water through out the day. Buy that sugar free gum that supposedly tastes like dessert, I like the choc chip mint, but the strawberry shortcake tastes like cardboard. Figure out which plates, bowls and cups you will be your go to's since your portions will decrease, no reason to put that chicken breast on a huge dinner plate when a salad or bread plate will do. Have patience with yourself and remember that you didnt gain overnight so you wont lose overnight. Good Luck- hope to be in your place real soon!

1St Official Blog Weigh In
Ok, sorry one day late, but I was BEAT yesterday!! There was a special workout class for Zumba yesterday as in we were supposed to all wear red, white and blue. AHA...ok. I wore my Texas Rangers t shirt. But I was mistaken for the time and got there an hour early so I was convinced by an older woman to join in on the class that was going on- a Nike Fit boot camp!!!! That class killed me more than Zumba, but I went forward. It was the same instructor who kept mentioning that Zumba followed the boot camp and she challenged/invited people to do both. So I did. I was only able to do 23 minutes of Zumba before I cut out. I just couldnt lift my legs or arms for it. I felt like a rag doll. But I weighed before I left and it was 245. So Ive recovered some of the ground I had lost last week, yay! Afterwards we spent the 4th of July at Six Flags over Texas. Walked the whole park from 4-9pm and then we went to a firework festival in Bedford, more walking. Probably another mile or so. Now this morning I can barely walk, hahaha.

They Cancel Each Other Out!!!!!
I'm going to Zumba every other day this last week. But I've noticed that later that night, I usually end up eating too much or something I shouldnt be having at all! Hey! That cancels out the sweating and movement I had that day! UGGGGGGG!!!! Today I also wore a more form fitting shirt to work out that didnt necessarily cover my rear like I usually wear. It was flattering and not flattering at the same time. The color and cut looked awesome on me but yuck, my stomach and mommy apron as well as my rear were very visible. Even the instructor during Zumba pointed at me to "suck in" my stomach more during an exercise move. Sigh. I must say that I am proud of me for getting to the workout class and completing it each time I go. Im looking forward to having better cardio and losing some more weight so I can do a little more of the jumping and quick movements that they do in this class. ok talk to you later, weighing in and posting official weight for the week tommorow.

Missed Goal
Happy Birthday!!!! Congratulations on hitting 50, awesome!! the zumba sounds good, maybe switch it up with other cardio type work? How is the eating going? Have you been staying on track? Either way, you have made strides into having a healthier life and making it to 50 is a milestone.

WOW! You have inspired me with your post today. Congratulations on the loss and keep working to make yourself even more awesome!

First Thre Weeks
I dont have restriction but had my last taste of diet coke the night before surgery. You might want to try to really just give it up and move on. I can only speak for myself, but I know that as soon as I found out I could "cheat", I started having a lot of stuff I shouldnt be having- even with no restriction. I've eaten bread, steak and ice cream. And when I get my first fill next month (August!!) I just know I'll be dreaming about stuff I should have gotten out of my system back in May.

Couch To 5K
Ive run the first week twice because I am not confident to move forward, but its doable! The apps work great and it doesnt interrupt your music too much. I run on the treadmill, and Im heavier than the last time I did the c25k about 8 years ago, so I find that I might have to alternate with an elliptical to ease my knees and ankles a bit better before extended periods of running start up.

Every Step I Take...
3 years ago I noticed a slight pain in the sole of my right foot. Later that week, almost as if overnight, my shoes felt different, like someone went and messed up the area where the arch is in the foot. My shoes felt like they had been turned out on their sides. Every single pair. From that point on the pain in my feet started everyday, through the night and affecting my sleep. Sometimes the pain reached up my calves and I slept many nights stretching out my legs, flexing and pronating my feet. I went to the DR, and she didnt know what was going on. Then I figured it out. Im too heavy. I went on another crash diet, HCG this time and the pain went away for about 6 months. But its back now, and I feel it in both feet, just stronger on the right heel. Ive been lucky medically so far even with the weight. No diabetes, cholesteral not elevated and no heart issues. But the gall bladder is out and this pain, which I think is Plantar Fascitis is a daily reminder that my health issues can worsen so quickly. I went to Zumba for the first time on Monday, yay, but as I started into it, the pain in my feet was becoming unbearable. But I went on and finished the class. Reason #10 for getting healthier starting with my weight, is make the pain of walking go away, because its a reminder every step I take, that no matter how good that donut or slice of pizza tasted, being able to walk or dance or skip without pain gives me greater satisfaction.

2 Weeks Out
I LOVE diet Peach Snapple, but cant drink it too much because that flavor upsets my stomach. I do like their half and half diet tea, half lemonade and half tea. I was bloated the first two weeks but the gas melt tabs were amazing and now I really dont ever have to use them at all. I had a very smooth transition from liquids to semi solid, mushie type foods. Exercising often is good, I know that REALLY helped me with bloating and gas. Just getting up to move helps you heal faster. 3 miles on the elliptical is awesome, keep it up.I do the official weigh in on Wednesdays, but I honestly check every day out of habit. I just make Wednesday the official number that I will post. Dont stop working towards your goal and stay positive, you are on your way!!!
