Yesterdays Weight....
I weighed in at 226.6 yesterday. I am ok with that amount although I wish I was losing more weight. I go over my eating habits everyday, I know what Ive eaten and I stick to the same things each day. Im thinking that I need to increase my water and my protein. Although my scale is slow in moving, I must say that I am pleased with how I feel in my clothes as I am more aware that they are looser on me. Another cool thing that I have noticed is that I used to get winded walking from the parking lot to get inside the building at work and that doesnt happen anymore. That part really feels good because it was embarrassing to be panting behind coworkers as you start off the day, lol. Ive been having some slight aches in my abdomen and im wondering what I can attribute it to. I have been working on my off days at the state fair thanks to my ever so thoughtful husband at his company's display. The coolest part besides him visiting me every night I work is that I met a lady who is working there too and she got the lapband about two years ago and she has lost 150lbs!!! Very cool. She showed me her before pic and said she couldnt believe how big she used to be. We have the same food issues and experiences, so it was a very relatable conversation. She stressed how important it was to get the water and protein in and to exercize or even just start walking. Making my adjustments soon, the colder weather has arrived and I need to get some new cold weather clothing to wrap myself up in.

Fill #3 And No Loss, My Loss
I have not been on the website for awhile. I also have not been eating right. Like I had said before, I had found that I could eat chips and I had been eating chips and guacamole for lunch almost every day at work. My weight hasnt really moved and there is no one else to find fault with than me. I went to the doctor today and got my third fill. My weight was 230. The assistant adjusts for clothes. Im pretty sure my clothes and sandals do not weigh two pounds so its probably really closer to 231 or 232. However, its still 10lbs lost since my last fill on August 15th. Not feeling up to writing anything else, cant really explain why. Maybe its my Zoloft. I dont know. Starting to be really annoyed about work too. Eh.

My Meds Seem Too Strong Now.
I am 4 months out from the surgery and went back to my therapist for some anxiety/depression issues. She prescribed Zoloft and said to start out with half a pill and work up to the whole pill. Well, its been awhile since Ive had to take these kinds of meds (10 years) and they just seem soo strong. I dont know if it seems stronger because im eating less or what. These pills make me not want to eat and make it hard sometimes to swallow. I dont want to stop because I really need some help with emotional stuff but Im not eating, I dont mind I dont feel hungry at all, but I dont want my weight loss to stall because Im starving either. When I do end up eating I rush because I finally feel hungry and I either get stuck or feel nauseated. Any suggestions? Anyone else have something like this happen to them?

Weigh In #7 And #8 And Food Hangover
Ok first I weighed 233 and this morning it was 231. I am so-so about the weight loss because I feel (fear) that its starting to slow down. DH and I are BIG TIME football fans and we participate in a Fantasy Football league on competing teams. We hosted the live draft in our home on the 19th and it was a food smorgasboard. There wasnt that much that I could eat but I DID discover that chips - especially tortilla chips- are my cheating foods. I can eat chips and dip all day long, which I practically did that afternoon. Big regret because I experienced what I could only call a "food hangover" that night as I lay in bed. I had a difficult time falling asleep, I was queasy and just felt like throwing up. It was absolutely not worth it. I also went back to Zumba with me daughter and I had no issues with the calf, yay!! But I did realize something that I meant to blog about last week but I got behind on other things so I owe a blog about my a realization about my dear daughter and my weight. I started up on anxiety/depression meds again and im feeling some weirdness because of it. Im going to go to the boards to see if anyone else has experienced it too. It is my first time on Zoloft although I experienced success with the other meds I have taken, I feel that this time, maybe because im eating less, that the medicine is coming across too strong, Im even only taking half a pill. Anyway!!! Back to work- on my new schedule- and I have to work out how to get back to working out regularly!! Toodle- loo!!!

Shakes?
No- I have never heard of that shake. I know that there are Protein drinks for weight gain, but there are also some for weight loss or Meal Replacement. When Ive resorted to having to drink a Protein Shake I have had the low carb Tigers Milk one and the EAS low carb drink. Wal Mart makes a good generic brand.

What Did You Say?
I dont remember talking other than being dragged out of bed to drink something to look at the fluoroscope thing! Seriously, it was like, "Get up now, drink this, ok you can get dressed now." Put my clothes on and they said your husband is here.

Banded 6 Hours Ago!
YAY!!! Keep up the walking, it might help with the gas discomfort! Have you thought about keeping a blog? Did you take pictures for your before and after? There have been some really cool forum topics about what people do to keep themselves motivated, how they set their milestones and also stuff that they look forward to doing again. I know, lots of questions, but Im so excited for you too, I cant help it!

Yippy Soo Excited I Just Scheduled My 6Week First Fill For The 5Th ... What To Expect?
Everyone feels different about the fill so here's my take: I dont mind needles but for some reason this process makes me feel a little queasy, especially the part where he feels for the port..ewwww weird feeling. I have the fill with the use of a fluoroscope (sp) so I get to watch the white drink stuff flow before the fill and then sit and drain after the fill YAY. When they tell you to have liquids, they mean it. Dont rush to get back to solid foods right away. My dr tells me liquids for 24 hours but I find it takes about 48 hours for me to feel ok about it. Dont forget to keep up with drinking your Water too and taking your Vitamins. Also, dont be sad or discouraged if you dont feel "restriction". First off, its not actually restriction but feeling and STAYING satisfied is the feeling you are looking for. And after your first fill the staying satisfied part might last 1-2 weeks or maybe only a few days. Like I said, everyone is different. Im excited for you too! I remember what that was like when I first got filled last month!!

Weigh In #6 Or # 7- Lol Ok I Pick Six ...
I went back home this weekend to see if anyone could tell that I lost weight. Sadness. My Mom said I looked the same but my daughter was shocked/surprised at how I looked! She hadnt seen me since the end of May so im glad that she could see it. I also believe she was being honest even though I know she might try to say it to be nice. Awwwwww.. So my weigh in......234!!!! Tada!!!!! Yay me!! Also- while I was on my little trip, had a bit of a food trip up. I had trouble eating scrambled eggs and sausage. Major stuck pain each time. I think I was able to eat about 2-3 tablespoons of well chewed egg. So sad. The last attempt I ended up sliming for the first time ever. OMG I never want to experience that again. My mom and dad have a swimming pool so I knew I would need to get a new swimsuit. Sigh...my choices were Matron or 15yr old Lolita. I can assure you I do not have the body to carry the Lolita look at this stage, . So I got an "ok" Matron style tankini/halter top and boy shorts. hahahaha those boy shorts were turned into bikinis because my thighs fought the hems and guess who won??? Anyway I vowed as I was buying that swimsuit that this would be the last time I buy a swimsuit that has an X in the size! I vow that next year I will either have low double digits or even GASP single digit swimsuit sizes!!! The DH loved my look and he said he was very proud of me. Now- back to staying on my food track and since the babies start school next week and my new shift does too, I need to get back to Zumba and get ready for that 5k in October.

Back To Old Habits And Dont Know What To Do, Help??
Being accountable. I dont know where I read it but someone blogged about challenging people to stop lurking and blog about what you are doing; either daily or weekly or whatever helps to keep you honest. I took that challenge up and some days I run late, but I try to post a weekly weigh in.(speaking of which, time to update my weigh in blog) Even if you think no one reads it, make a promise to yourself no matter how many times you weigh yourself. Pick one day, that will be your "official" weight of the day and then post it. I have a small bit of pride that tells me to get off my duff and start being accountable for my health.

True Results
Thats who I used. Not sure if the one I went to is considered Richardson because its in Bedford,(im still new to Texas) but they were pretty awesome about putting my paperwork together. Seriously, the lady in the back office was relentless with my dr's offices in Las Vegas.

Chewing Gum
Im not sure if youre asking if it would be a problem or bad for diet? To be honest, there were a couple of days that chewing gum helped me get rid of the desire to "chew" something in the early days. The bad part is that I think that some of the fake sugars used in sugar free can cause bloating. But im not sure. I chew gum now and im almost 4 months post op.

Second Fill Success!
For my part, I am feeling fuller faster and a week later after this second fill I am staying satisfied I would say about 5-6 hours... I am filling up VERY quickly. I really do have to eat slowly to get my protein in.

Here We Go - Life, Part 2.
I identify a lot with you saying that you put up with a lot of treatment from spouses because of your weight. Im pretty sure that I have let that happen as well. I look forward to reading more about your weight loss adventure! Here's to wishing us both lots of luck and love in our future!!

Slow And Steady Is Winning This Race!
Thank you for this blog. It rang true to me when you said it was possible to lose weight and "get on" with life. I am realizing this every day. Sometimes it feels like you are more aware of what you cant eat because of the band and it seems like we are obsessing about food more now thn before. But the best part is realizing that Im not as hungry as I probably would have been in the past.

2Nd Fill
I had the same thing this week. A fill, I only lost 4lbs since my last visit last month. I agree about food tasting good. Learning to have smaller portions is my biggest challenge!!

How Long Before Deciding Can You Actually Get The Surgery?
My first visit was in November- right before Thanksgiving. I finished 3 months of nutritional food logs and Psych Eval, cardio /pulmonary testing etc and I believe I was approved in April. I had my surgery on 5/1.

Upset And Depressed :(
UGGGG!! I remember that day!! I was so glad that it was a Saturday and it was a "lighter" day at work. I walked a little more that day and even though there was still pain, I was glad to see that each day I was able to walk further and further. Im sorry you are having trouble sleeping too. That lasted longer for me than anything else because Im a side sleeper. Also, right after my surgery I started noticing how many food commercials there are. LOL. Very mouth watering. Honestly. now they dont make me hungry. They actually make me a little sick imagining having to eat ALL THAT.
-
Tomorrow Is The Big Day!!!
Take a moment, sometime before the surgery, and close your eyes. Remember all of the things that you might have done BEFORE. The food choices, the emotions you felt when you maybe might have eaten too much. Think about the times you were embarrassed about your clothes, finding a comfortable place to sit or a time when everyone else was ok and you were out of breath from a short walk. Then I want you to push that away from you and remember that after tomorrow, everyday will be one day further from all those hurtful, maybe even unhappy times. And when you have a moment of doubt and you think that changing your habits is too hard on this journey (because you might just have those days!) say to yourself, " Nobody said it would be easy. They only said it would be worth it." Good Luck and keep us posted.

Fill # 2 And....confusion???
I read a forum topic about feeling sick during the fill part (vasovagel nerve, something like that!) so I just concentrate on my breathing. I like your thought about 10lbs between visits. I know its just one day out, but the longer time Ive felt in being satisfied for meals makes me very happy and hopeful.
