  2. I'm getting banded 5/29...thanks ang and difa -- as a newbie, it's always good to hear everyone's stories
  3. So, I have to call the hospital in an hour to find out what time to head to the hospital for surgery on Tuesday (5/29). It's getting close I'm starting to get really nervous! How's everyone doing? I need some inspiration!
  4. Im in NYC but having my surgery on long island on 5/29!
  5. i am DREADING it. i made plans to see some movies with friends and other non-food related activities to keep my busy. it's gonna be rough.
  6. Ok you all are making me nervous. Lol Are you serious? First Bite Syndrome? So, I'll get stuck or have an episode at every 1st bite?
  7. I am self-pay and I was told by my doc's office that I'll be paying for each fill.
  8. My surgery is next week too! Great idea to purge the closets this weekend. I will definitely have to find ways to stay busy!
  9. I'm from new york. Starting to get a little nervous!
  10. It sucks, but yes I had to go off the pill 10 days before surgery. Unsure of when I can take it again. My surgery is next week.
  11. I "stole" the idea from someone else here and told my boss I was having gallbladder surgery, which explains the 4 days off work. I told him I wasn't planning on telling anyone else, but told him as hes my boss and we're very busy at work. I wanted him to know it was surgery and not just a trip to the beach while I was out of the office! He respected that. When/if I start dropping weight, I'll probably say I'm on WW or something. I'll play that one by ear!!
  12. just checking in with everyone. to those who've had the banded plication recently, how are you doing?
  13. are you too tight? you may need an unfill?
  14. Heather- hi. There is a saying, "it works if you work it." The band is just a tool and you will have to do the rest. I have a colleague who had the band. She lost a lot of weight, but is now a binge drinker and she throws up everyday due to eating the wrong things or eating too quickly. Anyway, now that I've done my own research, I can see where she went wrong. I get banded next week and I'm excited. I know it's just a tool , but I'm ready to lose weight once and for all.
  15. Bama- where r u from? Where u having it done? R u on the pre op liquids yet?
  16. Good luck to all of you!!
  17. Well, last week I pulled a muscle in my back and was in PAIN. I tried walking my pup, but I could barely move and with all her pulling, etc, I ended up putting her in day care (which she loves!). She's a big puppy 50lbs at 8 months old. So, for me it sealed my decision to put her in daycare or boarding for a few days while I heal from surgery. I might even have a friend who will take her, which is better than boarding!
  18. Now that I got the DREADED before picture out-of-the-way, I think I'll start taking pictures once a month to see my progress.
  19. Lovex- check out the banded plication procedure. That's what I'm having and it might be what you'll like.
