Bariatric journey Multiple procedures Since 2019 Preparing for surgery

Everything posted by kah1213

  1. I'm May 30! I'm starting to get all my supplies together to prepare for the journey!
  2. How long do you have to wait before going back to the gym after surgery? I know everyone is different but I was just wondering.
  3. Yay. Awesome!
  4. Sure! I'll be 5 days ahead of you so I can tell you what to expect!
  5. Hi Touria and Bromo- how was the nausea for the first few days after surgery. I've heard it's bad. Nervous about that.
  6. Yep, I'm doing outpatient. I think it's just a matter of your doc and the facility that they're operating in.
  7. It feels SO far away, but I just wanted to post anyway. My doc's office is extremely busy, so the process has taken a long time. I called to set up my 1st appt in early Jan, but didn't get in to the doc until mid-Feb. Then I went on what felt like 1,000 appts (cardio, pulmonary, endoscopy, sleep study, etc etc). Finally in mid-April I was all ready to meet with the surgeon and schedule my surgery. He couldn't fit me in until May 30. It feels like such a long process, but i think all the steps we have to go thru just proves we're all dedicated. Now that the date is coming up soon, I'm getting really excited AND nervous. I had a bagel today and thought wow I won't be eating this again anytime soon (or never)! Anyway, good luck to everyone. I love reading these posts. It's helpful to come here for support since I'm not telling anyone about my surgery (well, 1 person my dad).
  8. Congrats! I'm going on a trip 16 days after surgery and I'm already worried. I don't want to tell anyone about the band. I know its going to be tough, but im inspired by you!
  9. Mine was a 30 min meeting with the psych. Not bad at all!
  10. Wow! That's good to know. So strange.
  11. I'm just wondering if they can do the band with plication in single incision? I've been doing a lot of research and plication seems like its worth it despite a little longer recovery time.
  12. Are there certain requirements to do the plication? A certain BMI? I just emailed my surgeon to see if I'm eligible.
