  • That is funny. I have not had any real food cravings since I got my approval too. I started my 2 week liquid diet 3 days after my approval. So far so good, I feel like I am in control over my food ins

I'm on May 29th too! YOU CAN DO IT! I totally know about feeling like you may fail, but we need to stay positive and I know we'll BOTH be successful.

Are you doing the liquid diet now?

I only have to do the liquid diet for 1 day before surgery, but I am planning to do it for a week anyway. 10 more days and we'll be banded! I have heard from otheers here that the pre-op liquid diet is much harder than the post-op liquids.

I start pre op on may 24... Surgery on 29... We can definatley do this ... KAH, when are you starting yours???

I'll start liquids on 5/24 probably...not happy to be on liquids over memorial day weekend! :(

Ok... You are officially my band buddy!!!! I may be grouchy for those 5 days though... Especially memorial day... Even though it's liquid, I doubt the protein shake comes in margarita flavor

Best of luck to you and keep us posted on your progress :)

Wow I had to do mine 2 weeks prior today is day 4

I am thinking I might try to go to the movies over the weekend when I am on liquids to keep my mind off food...so I will have to see 200 movies LOL :)

I got my two week pre-op as well, I was so shocked to see I can eat food. On the day before I eat up till 1pm, then its liquids for the rest of the day.

Sample:

1200 calories daily

Breakfast: 4 egg whites, 1 cup skim milk 3/4 cup of cold Cereal or oatmeal

Lunch: 4 oz. lean meat (ex. chicken, fish, turkey)- 1 cup raw veggies- 2 slices of low calorie wheat bread

Dinner: 5 oz. lean meat- 2 cup raw or cooked veggies

Snack: Choose only 1 - 18 nuts, or yogurt (greek), Protein bar (less than 200 cal), or sugar free pudding or Jello.

NO fried foods, fastfoods, soda, plaintains, corn, peas, yams, winter squash,

drink plenty of Water

My doc said he had done 2 weeks at some point in the past but finds he gets much better compliance with 5 days! You can do this KTan... I bought 2 new books today... I think that will keep me from thinking about . I also feel like I am so ready to do this that food is all of a sudden losing its control over me... Very strange but I haven't had any food cravings since I found out I was approved... That happen to any of you?

im being banded 29th.too.....i started my liquid diet today they said sat.but i wanted to start early make sure i lose the lbs they want have to stay around 500 calories i did 515 today im so hungry but im going to stick with it they say it gets easier i sure hope so.good luck everyone

500 cals per day?! Wow. Good luck!

I am also being banded on the 29th.. I started the liquid diet on Tuesday but by today was miserable. I was having nausea as well as diarrhea. I had lost 8 pounds since Tuesday because I didn't feel like eating. My MD took me off it and said just to eat what I have been eating. I eat very healthy just too much normally! So the nausea is gone and I am not dehydrated by this afternoon. It would have been a very long 10 more days. Tomorrow I am doing a fundraising walk for Crohns and Colitis and now I feel like I can actually do it. Looking forward to hearing from all of you May 29th people!

Anyone having the band with plication? I am...just asking!
