Bariatric journey Multiple procedures Since 2019 Preparing for surgery

Everything posted by kah1213

  1. Hi moya. My surgery was may 29 as well!
  2. I had plication May 29. I'm sure I probably still have swelling, but I'm not very hungry. I get full after a small amount and I'm not hungry again for at least 3 hours or more.
  3. Those fiber gummies have been really helpful for me
  4. Just wanted to let you guys know that I was banded May 29 and I was finally able to sleep for a bit on my stomach (my preferred way to fall asleep) on day 11. sleeping on my side was ok after day 3. It gets better. Hang in there!!
  5. I was self pay too, but I tried to go through insurance first. From 1st doc appointment to surgery day was 3.5 months. For you, it'll likely be faster.
  6. I do t know about ATL but my first doc appt was in Feb and I just had surgery at the end of May. So, the whole process took a little over 3 months (and that was with me really hustling to get all the required tests and appointments in as quickly as possible).
  7. Every doc has different instructions. Some allow soup and some don't. Did your doc or nutritionist give you an info packet or written instructions?
  8. Just had that for breakfast! Love it
  9. Day 5 was my turning point as far as pain and ease of drinking water. I didn't have the hernia repair though. Feel better soon!!
  10. You're only 2 weeks out. Most doctors won't do a fill until 4-6 weeks after surgery. So, I'd say you should go back to your doc in a couple weeks and see what he says.
  11. Wow congrats!
  12. the special K protein bars are pretty good too, but i know there are other bars out there that have more protein. also the "think thin" bars are good. i havent tried them since surgery yet because i'm still on soft foods
  13. hi D. how are you feeling? I was banded 5/29/12 and I was feeling pretty much "normal" after a week.
  14. I've had lipo. Those pads were helpful in the car ride home and the first few days to protect my bed and couch. Day 1 there is the most drainage but it really wasn't that bad.
  15. With a bmi of 40+, you should qualify without a problem. Good luck!
  16. doc told me that my first fill MIGHT happen at the 1 month post op appt, but it will totally depend on how i am doing with tolerating food and weight loss.
