  1. Im 12 days out and every time I try to eat anything (even liquid soups) I have a sharp pain in my chest. I hold my chest and it goes away as quickly as it came. So frustrating. I assume this is normal. The only thing I can have that doesn't do this is water. Anyone tell me how long it will do this or putting off eating just prolong the misery?
  2. My largest incision has teeny tiny water blisters all around in about 2" out. Ive been wearing a spandex like tank inder my shirt- could that be causing them or is it just healing or should I worry? When I run my nails over them they just pop and slightly itch. Anyone else have this? 12 days out today.
  3. I told my husband how much I weighed last week. He looked stunned. He said he thought I weighed about what hedoes but I started about 80 lbs more than him now Im about 20 more than him. He doesnt offer encouragment or compliments. I think it shows how weak a man is. Me and you both are so strong to have taken charge of our lives ans body. For us to let themknow how much we weigh is only because we are confident we will lose it. Its almost like look at me and watch what im going to do ! Dont let him get you down. You alredy know you are beautiful inside and working on becoming the same outside playing a game you cant lose !! Sit back and smile at him knowing you already won and dont need his approval. This is for you and not him.
  4. Not sure what my pain is. It is getting somewhat better but it keeps me from standing or walking much. Dr thought the drain may have been on a nerve but I would have thought it would have gotten better when it came out but hasnt. I have another appr in two weeks. Still taking Loritab luquid but only twice a day now.
  5. I was on this forum at least 10 times a day my first week. Members became friends and kept me sain knowing what I was feeling was ok both mrntal and physical. I never felt alone and there was always someone that was willing to hold my hand. If youre worried about anything or just need to vent this is the perfect place for it. Hang in there and take it hour by hour. It will get better I promise.
  6. Did they run tests at the er for a leak? I was back in the er day 5 with severe pain. Mri an ct scan showed everything was ok. If you are concerned call you dr or nurse. Even a support group leader. You need to be reassured you are ok. It is normal to have these fears. I am still dealing with emotions 11 days out. Praying comport for you. Hugs, angie
  7. 11 days out and my back is killing me from pampering my front left side that is still abot a 5 on the pain scale. I cantgo tothe chiropractor since I cant lay on my back. How did you get back relief? Also how can I reduce the pain from sneezing and coughing?
  8. Mine was taken out Monday and averaged 8 cc for one week.
  9. Monkey Butt keeps me from getting the yeast infections now. About $4 a bottle. When you get a yeast infection, just put some on (works great when you go to bed) and within a few hours, you can see a difference. Glad I could share the tip. We only have this powder in the house...not even diaper rash cream for the grandbaby. We threw it all out and replaced it with the powder.
  10. Stupid question...what is a sandwich thin... I don't think I've seen them. Is it a cracker or a type of bread?
  11. is there a scale where you work out to where you can go by their numbers and you'd be less likely to reweigh every day? When I workout there is a scale in the dressing room. Its digital and if I have the will power to walk by it, I have no choice but to wait on the weigh in at least one more day.

Day 4 and 5 I cried most of the day. So many thoughts in my head of what did I do, where am I heading now and dang Im tired. Lasted about 3 days and seems to get better every day. I tried to get out and go somewhere or get sunshine when it got really bad. Someone on here suggested I rent a funny movie and open windows for sunshine and it did help and it will pass. I honestly didn't think it would. i'm 11 days out and if I sit too long, it creeps up on me still. So, I try to stay busy and active.
  13. One suggestion from our support group this week was you can have refried beans from Taco Bell. I ordered a side dish and barely scraped the top and was full but my husband was able to eat normal and we just sat and visited. They are high in protein and you can have shredded cheese on them. Also, Ordering side orders like gravy or mashed potatoes at KFC and my husband had the buffet.
  14. Its in the pharmacy area where they sell the baby wipes and powder.
  15. When I think Im hungry, Im really thirsty. Try drinking water when you get the hunger feeling and see if that helps. I also get a sf pop cycle and that helps. With the heat, I constantly have water in my hand.
  16. When I first started, SF jello was my life saver! That and ice cold water from Sonic so I could chew the ice. I had diet cherry limeaids from there to help too. Hang in there, it will all be worth it in the end. What a couple weeks compared to the rest of your life. Can't wait to see your before and after pics. I was amazed how much I looked different just from my pre op diet. Take a face pic today and another next weekend. You'll be amazed.
  17. What I've learned... This too shall pass. Pain , stall, hunger, gas....you're going to be ok. Others have made it through it. And I'm NEVER alone.
  18. K, get the giglges out... Someone posted something about the heat and healing and thought I'd share something with everyone. My husband had a heart attack last year and works out in the heat. When doing physical therapy, he had a huge problem with chaffing on the treadmill after sweating at his job before he got there. One of the men suggested "Monkey Butt" powder. We laughed and went off to our tractor supply store and hung our heads as we asked if they had it. Thank goodness the clerk knew what I wanted before I got the title out of my mouth. Now, thats ALL we buy. It clears up chaffing and prevents it in one day, one use. We use it on our grandson. If he gets diaper rash, usually with one diaper change its gone. Use it on a regular basis and they won't even get it. For those who get the rashes and yeast infections in the folds of skin, under breasts and under armpits...you have got to try it. WalMart now carries it. I don't like the Lady Monkey Butt but do like the regular and Baby anti Monkey Butt. Anyway, with all this heat and just weight problems in general I thought I'd share my favorite secret. Its in a yellow bottle with a monkey on the front and you can find it on Facebook too. Im using it post surgery to help my belly stay dry in this heat since I'm wearing tighter undergarments to help with the pain and healing. Helps keep me dry all day.
  19. Glad you offered for the women to pipe in. I've thought the same thing. I've lost weight before and gained it back so I feel I have a little experience with your statement. When I lost 88 lbs and felt..sexy, I acted different, spoke different and walked different. It was the self esteem that made the difference. Not the weight. When the men would approach me, there was a part of me that, in my mind, gave them the evil eye. I felt that had I been a bigger woman, they wouldn't have looked my way. I'm not so sure its the weight that attracts the opposite sex but the self confidence that comes with it. If you already have this self confidence, I don't see you'll have a huge difference in women who are attracted to you. When I lost the weight, I caught myself looking for a different "type" of man. I wasn't so much into the buffed tall dark and handsome..but I was wanting the soft hearted, understanding, mature man. Funny, because when I was bigger, I wanted the same but in a gorgeous body. Funny, we always think the opposite sex is the ones who want so much more, when in fact it might be the losers (weight that is). Anyway, its an opinion. In the end, you get what you give. If you don't, either you are not giving or you are in the wrong relationship. Good Luck
  20. I was terrified and the closer it got to my date, the less I was sleeping from worrying about what if's. It's perfectly normal. I'd worry if you weren't scared. Hang in there . Before you know it, it will be over and you'll be on the losers bench too. I'll save you a seat.
  21. Hi Aaron! Welcome to the family. Freaking out is normal and you'll be fine. The first few days of pre op diet is the hardest. Hang in there for about day 5 and its gets better.
  22. I wondered about this today...I know we can't have doughy bread...but flour tortilla's?
  23. How exciting !! Congratulations ~ Better start practicing your sipping
  24. Rachel, so happy for you. You are doing great girl. I know the feeling about crying when you get on the scales and it has went down again. Love seeing your blogs on You Tube. Today was my first day back to work. I had about 4 people look me up and down but didn't say anything...I just smiled inside and 3 asked if I was losing weight. I was hesitant about telling people about the surgery but found myself wanting to tell them today and did. I was able to wear clothes that were too little for me when I left work 2 weeks ago. I felt like I looked nice today and stood a little taller. Still having alot of pain in my left side but today seemed to be a little better. I think being at work and having my mind on something other than the pain helped too. I also had on a girdle style tank top on under my shirt which helped the pain tremendously. Looking forward to more mornings of lower numbers. Take care everyone and keep posting updates !! Hugs angie
