I had my surgery 3 weeks ago today. I wasn't scared until the anestheialogist (sp?) put the mask on me, but by then it was too late to worry. I just said a little prayer as I was fading out and then woke up to my husband and parents smiling at me. Everything will be fine. :)

I am very excited ready to get my "new life" started!! Is there anyway to find other users who used the same surgeon as me? How did you feel after your surgery?

I was terrified and the closer it got to my date, the less I was sleeping from worrying about what if's. It's perfectly normal. I'd worry if you weren't scared. Hang in there . Before you know it, it will be over and you'll be on the losers bench too. I'll save you a seat. :)

At the hospital, the nurses did a wonderful job making me comfortable and controlling my pain. I had a hiatal hernia that my surgeon also repaired while he was in there, so I've had a lot of nausea and acid reflux. I started a new acid reducer about a week ago and it really seems to be helping. I am having a hard time getting all the required Protein and Vitamins down though...that's been my biggest challend so far.

I had to do a two-week pre-op diet where I lost nearly 20 lbs. Since I felt so successful on the pre-op diet, I thought I did not need the surgery. Up till the moment I was put under, I almost backed out. I thought I would die under the "knife" or that I was just making a dumb decision. I did not back out and I am THRILLED with the process. I feel wonderful and know this is the best decision outside of deciding to have children. :)

On a side note, and please don't think I am being critical. But I do not care for it when people refer to this as "a new life." Your live will still be your life, you will still have the same problems and issues. I think of this process as my new attitude towards myself and the way I interact with food.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
