I am looking for more variety for clear full liquids - 2 weeks will be next friday!!

Mine is clear full liquids until i get another barium swallow done (2 weeks) and then i move to pureed (applesauce, green beans etc) ...come on 2 WEEKS!!!!! I am having a hard time remembering their instructions!!

I am 5 days post op and cannot seem to figure out how to eat/drink what i am supposed too! Meaning quanity. I think i am not eating enough nor drinking enough - 5 days post op and have lost 10 pounds! Also when should i start protein? I tried the other day but all the rumblings hurt my tummy. Any one gave suggestions? Also what else can i eat at this stage besides yogart, jello, pudding or broth? Can i have mashed potatos? I have been putting anything i eat in a 2oz cup

I used to be a smoker and i was able to quit. A few weeks ago stress cauggt the best of me and i slipped up and smoked a few cigarettes!!! My surgery is scheduled this week and i don't know if i should cancel it or what!! I will be over a week out no smoking and as stated it was only a few. Everyone in my family thinks i will be ok but i wanted to get opinions on here, anyone have any thoughts?

I know it didnt was just inquiring how long. It looks very uncomfortable.

Yes sorry peacequeen my surgeon said the port has to stay in for 10 days, how long did you keep yours in?

I'm sure each surgeon is different. Is it a reputable hospital? That is how i would base my decision i would trust your instinct.

My surgeon said 3 days but i was not sure of everyone has 3 days or not. As far as leaking how did you know you were leaking? Mine said drainage port would stay in 10 days!!

Aworkingprogress...i have been trying to find statistics on it but couldn't. That is reassuring! Wanted band was told because my age not the best choice and i have bad IBS so bypass was not an option so here i am at the sleeve. The only one i never considered in the 3 year process thanks for the info!

Looking ahead.....i love your screen name i too think being scared is normal....everytime i second guess the surgery i have something go wrong like nlood pressure gets high, sugar spikes, feet swell etc. I know its a sign to keep moving along and never look back.

Misty my dr said he will give me amti anxiety meds before hand so hopefully that helps me. I'm glad you had a great experiance. Amiee what pre-op diet did you do?

Aimee when i say new life...i mean like white water rafting, kayaking, hiking. being comfortable at the movies, running around with my kiddos...all the day to day stuff will be the same but now i can LIVE and have fun WHOOO HOO

Missmisty i do have FAITH that god is guiding me and would not lead me in a direction that would cause me harm. I will def say a prayer or 20 before my surgery!! Lol

I am very excited ready to get my "new life" started!! Is there anyway to find other users who used the same surgeon as me? How did you feel after your surgery?

I'm scheduled 8/29....pretty nervous about "not making it". I am so happy i found this site today! I dont know anyone else who has had the sleeve!
