  1. Im also 4 weeks out and have been stalled for close to two weeks. I can't give encouragement yet but I can sit and hold your hand and we'll wait together for the numbers to drop.
  2. He didnt say it would get better. He just said sliw down. Any slower and my food will mildew before I finish. I think the pain isnt worth the food right now.
  3. When can you eat a small meal? Not just bites but a true- non embarrassing go out and eat meal. I have been going out with my husband and order a side dish like steamed veggies and only eSt 4 bites or so. Then I get embarrased when I ask for a to go cup for the rest.
  4. Im 4 weeks out and have this over full feeling about every time i eat. I usually only have about 4 tsp of food when it hits. Not sure what to do about it ... very frusterating to eat. I even avoid eating all together sometimes.
  5. Can you eat seafood if chewed well on soft mushee stage?
  6. Asked the dr about it this week- he just smiled and said dliw down on eating and was partially from the sweet tea.
  7. Im 4 weeks out too and talked to my dr this week about this. I don't get mine in or anywhere near it. He said don't worry about it for now. Try to eat things like fish and drink milk when I can. Keep taking my vitamins and I'll be fine. On another note, I do get my water in by adding things like orange slices in my clear cup. Makes for a pretty drink and has a hint of orange.
  8. Beautiful ! I know the feeling. Great job and keep up the good work !!!
  9. Eating anything resembling real food causes pain in my chest and throat. Not sure if Im just not chewing enough or what. I know its way too hard to make 3 oz of food last 20 minutes ~ At least with liquids ( Soups, smoothies, etc) I dont have to watch the clock. I just fixed dumplings and I didn't have much of a problem but still could not make it last 20 min.
  10. I drink up to my first bite and then when Im done. I've been so thirsty lately and can't find anything to satisfy. I think I'm craving a Coke and know I can't have it.
  11. I didn't have it till I went to mushies. Just last week and now I've only had one day without it...today....which I went back to liquids
  12. I went in for my 3 week check up this week...he said just try and get in as much as I could. No set amount. Also, I was worried about Protein...smae thing - Don't worry about it. Drink milk when I can for vitamins and to get in some calories with it.
  13. My office buddy says she can't hear it, but its like Mt St helen to me. I just wanna crawl under my desk! I just bought a hot chocolate from StarBucks down from my office and its not doing it to me...only food. UGH~ Not worth eating in front of someone when it happens. lol
  14. Curious, if you drink with your meal...do you avoid the calories/fat because it goes on through then?
  15. walk walk walk walk. I walked at WalMart so I had a buggy to hang on to. Usually after about 15 min, I was worn out and had to sit but it did help. Also heating pad works wonders !
  16. Ok, need some advice. Everytime I eat anything, my throat starts this embarrassing growing noise. I can feel bubbles like feeling coming up from the bottom of my throat and come to the top. I compare it to the sizzling rock candy I use to eat as a kid. It's so embarrassing and uneasy feeling, it makes me not want to eat at all. What gives? I take Prilosec now.
  17. Surgery was June 25. Little over 3 weeks ago.
  18. Id love to know that one myself ....
  19. OMG. I know this is going to sound so stupid but it just hit me Im half way to my hundred goal !!!! Happy dance~~~~
  20. I know Im not supposed to but I do. I get full alot faster and if its cold, it does cause some pain and discomfort. Sleeved June 25.
  21. I totally understand. I was so discouraged 2 weeks ago and depressed. It will get better. Everyone told me that and it was hard to believe, but it will. My pain didn't completely stop when the drain came out but it was the start of the end of pain. Try to get sunshine when you can. Leave the house at least once a day. When the drain came out, I bought some spandex style tanks to wear under my clothes...WOW what a help. I don't go anywhere without wearing one now. It pulls all the excess fat and skin up to my stomach and minimizes the pain by a 100%. I bought mine at WalMart for $17. They have some at Lane Bryant for more. I bought the ones that go under your bra but it hurts my shoulders when it pulls down. If you have any questions, you can always private message me too. Take care and know this too will pass and it will get better.
  22. I had ALOT of pain with my drain too...Use a heating pad and it helps with the pain. I promise. When you go to bed, prop up at least 4 pillows, lay on your back and let the heating pad lay on your drain area. It will alleviate the pain so you can get some rest. I also took the liquid Loritab every 2 hours (1/2 dose) instead of waiting 4 hours for a full dose. I know it hurts to walk with the drain, but if you can walk in the grocery store with a buggy to hang on to...even 10 minutes, it will help too. Hope this helps. Hang in there, my was horrible. I'm starting week 4 and the back pain just quit about 3 days ago.
  23. I've been craving Oranges and fruit. So today to spice things up a little and make it look like eye candy, I l got out my clear tumbler with straw and lid. Sliced some oranges and then sliced them again...so I have quarters of orange slices...added ice and then water. Looks refreshing and is so good! Just a hint of real oranges. I think I'll do the same with some raspberry's or strawberry's this weekend. Can you imagine, oranges, strawberry's and limes? MMMmmmm Plus makes it easier to get in your liquids.
