  8. Isn't it funny that most folks (except those who've battled weight) don't understand that for many of us, food is an addiction. However, unlike alcoholics, druggies, gamblers, we can't just stay away from our addiction...therefore making it the toughest to fight. Not to mention that people brand you as lazy and weak (but any of the other addictions people now believe its a disease). I don't think anything can prepare anyone for this major loss. We've just got to stick together and lean on each other for support!
  9. Apparently yes, and it SUCKS!!!! I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and I stalled 4 days after surgery:(

  11. You'll be fine! You're BMI isn't that high, so you probably aren't at one of the higher risks. You sound like your head is back in the game. The pre-op diet is awful...to the point of cruelty. I slipped too, but gave myself a reality check and got back on track, and did fine!
  12. I'm so frustrated! I had my husband hide the scale because it was freaking me out. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op (June 28th), and Ive only lost 1/2 a pound since 4 days after my surgery. I'm getting all my protein and water in. I'm currently on mushies, and I'm doing my best to watch carbs. One of the biggest problems is that I can't actively exercise. I badly broke my ankle at the end of May, so rehabbing it is standing in the way of exercising. How can I not be losing weight...I'm only eating about 400 calories?!! I did Medifast a couple of years ago, weight just fell off, and I was eating ALOT more:(. I'm so discouraged. I know everyone stalls, but I didn't think it would be so soon after surgery.
  13. Me too! As here it is 2:20 in the morning, and I'm responding:(. Anyway, I finally had to ask my doctor for a prescription for Ambien....btw, I'm 13 days post-op, but have had insomnia the entire time!!
  14. Thanks for your replies. Yes, part of my irritation is that the scale has completely stalled! 6 days and nothing:(
  15. I hate to say it, but I'm finding myself increasingly irritated by my husband. I'm fighting like hell to get myself healthy and attractive, and he sits right next to me eating corn dogs, pizza, chips, etc., etc. We used to enjoy our cocktails together and of course I can't do that now...hasn't slowed him down a bit. I'm starting to feel like the designated driver at the party...not so fun:(. I know this was MY choice, and it is MY journey, but he has a lot of weight to lose to and I'd think he'd consider taking this opportunity to start working on it...or at least have more respect for me, and how difficult this process is. I know everyone has to find their own journey/motivation, but where's the partnership?? Btw, I'm 16 days post -op.
