Dr. Garcia In Tijuana
Kat1, I went alone and never had any problems Tijuana is much safer than uneducated people would like you to believe. Dr. Garcia and his staff are awesome! You'll love the Marriott, too! The hotel is very, very comfortable and quiet. I walked from the hotel to the local Wal-Mart without any trouble and never felt unsafe.

Just Not Happy
UPDATE: I went to E.R. last night. Everything is ok, just dehydrated. I was given nausea meds, an acid reducer, and I.V. fluids. I'm feeling better and hope the good feelings last lol. Let's do this thing!!!

Why Mexico?
I paid $5000 for mine, in Mexico. I also feel the surgeon in Mexico are more experienced because they do more surgeries on a daily basis. It was a good experience.

Just Not Happy
tyvette04, i wouldn't worry about a leak. chances are pretty slim. make sure you follow your post op diet and i'm sure you will be fine. signs of a leak are fever, nausea, abdominal pain and chills to name a few.

Is This Normal? (Nausea)
I have something similar when I drink. Any time I take a drink I feel nauseous. I do not feel this way when I eat, though. I don't know what to do about it. I'm only 2 weeks post-op so I'm hoping it goes away.

Dr Kelly Or Dr Garcia...i Need Help
I had Dr. Garcia. I intitially wanted to go with Kelly, but at the time there was a LOT of drama surrounding him and he had a death last July. My gut told me it was a bad idea, so I switched. My advice is to research and listen to yourself. I have heard Dr. Kelly is an excellent surgeon and I am NOT trying to deter anyone from going to him. I am only stating why I chose differently. I had a great experience with Dr. Garcia. Good luck to everyone!!

I Miss My Food
Has food really made you happy? You had the surgery for a reason. You were unhappy about your weight. Well, food got us to the point we felt we needed surgery and therefore, food actually made us unhappy. I completely understand how you feel. I am also 2 weeks out and miss some foods, but I tell myself food is the reason I was unhappy. Chinese and pizza made me fat. I can't control myself with those foods so I had surgery to stop the out of control eating. I'm sure these feelings will pass. Stay strong! WE CAN DO THIS!!

Fighting The Urge To Eat
It is hard. I'm 2 weeks post-op so there isn't much I can eat. However, I still want chinese really bad lol. I know I absolutely cannot have it, but still crave it. I just stay busy and try to keep my mind off of food. I also have cleaned out my fridge and pantry so I do not have anything at home I can't eat. Good luck and stay strong!

Calories In, Calories Out
you burn calories even when resting. the majority of people burn 1500-2000 each day. this does not include exercise. if you eat 600 calories you still have burned approx 600. if u exercise that is more calories burned
