As you can see I was no small man.. And the diff is crazy to me when I look at the photos.. I didn't see myself as big as I was , I have a beautiful wife , wonderful kids.. I was essentially fat and happy.. But I was tired.. My legs hurt, feet hurt, I'd go through boots in 6-8 months.. Now all that is gone.. Thank god!!!!

It is not easy!!!!!! I feel this part of the journey is pure torture . But we have to go through it I guess. I was not perfect. By day six I thought for sure I was going to go insane. I allowed myself the one cheat. That was the only one. I ate a McChicken sandwich and (6) chicken nuggets with fries. I slept like a baby that night lol!!!!! the next day, I went back on my regiment like it never happened. I made a deal with myself that I would not do it again, and I did not. I also made up for it by exercising more. Just make sure you don't lose sight of the surgery, and the weight loss you need to achieve.

I feel the same way! but the reality is, every pound lost is a step toward my goal. I get so caught up in other people's pace, that I am not noticing my success so far. We are all going to lose differently. I just make sure that I am doing the right thing (protein, Water, low carb, low fat, low calorie) and my body will do the rest. Hang in there, we are slowly but surely getting close to our goal

I know the feeling!!! Per my pre-op guidelines, I take Dulcolax Stool Softener (2 tabs every other day) to keep me regular. But at your stage, you are barely eating, don't expect any big movements

Slider foods are those foods that you can eat larger quantities than normal post sleeve. For example: I can usually only eat about 3/4 C. of food at a time but with "slider foods" like popcorn (and chips), I can eat the whole bag!!!

I was very afraid of having loose skin after the weight loss, however coming into some foresight I now am no longer afraid, you see after the weight loss I will no longer be afraid of high buildings or airplanes, I unlike skinny people will have a natural ability to flow through the air like a flying squirrel.

Hello!! my surgery is sheduled for the 24th of this month. My doctor alo wants me to lose 10lbs pre op. I am to drink 5 shakes a day ( I use Isopure Protein Shakes ) and one meal of green and lean Protein of choice. My fav so far: baked fish with broccoli, or baked chicken with green Beans or baked salmon with fresh baby spinach that I cook in small amount of Water for 5mins. Plus I drink 64oz of water faithfully!! If I fee hungry I either have skim milk or strawberrys.... in two weeks I lost the 10lbs and still have a week and a half to, so I wish to lose even more. I dink no soda( not even diet. If I cant have the real thing, than why bother.), or coffee, no juice!
Bottom line, you have to make it work! It is not easy but it can be done!!!

You can still hang out with your friends abut not partake in their activities. I am the best DD available! I enjoy hanging with friends....the atmosphere isn't always perfect for my new life, but I don't want to turn into a loner so I find ways to make it work.
If your friends chose to abandon you as you become healthy, there's not a lot you can do about it.

However,we should never forget where we came from and that we use to be those people.
I am having the same issues with some friends, especially the ones thats very overweight. But now I choose to still love them the way they have loved me and my fat behind for so long.My very close, very large friend even walked quite a distance with me recently, after she wanted to drive and then changed her mind without any encouragement at all.Victory!
Thank goodness my family's very active and sporty and we run together, play squash together, have long walking holidays together and do the beach thing together all the time.
I've seen how one of my very good friends have changed now that she hangs with the pretty people. The same ones that wouldnt have given her the time of day before.I suppose she must have been as superficial before,I just didnt notice.
But then,I have always cared for people for who they are,not for what they can do for me.
We need new friends as well, all the time anyway as life is dinamic, not static!
I am not flaming what you say you need.We are all different.I am just different in this,I suppose I've been overweight for too long and have experienced feeling left behind or out because of that too often.
    Enjoy being skinny!

Let me preface this by saying that I have 1 true friend that has been there for me right or wrong & through thick an thin. The people I am talking about here are our more casual "friends".
I am finding that since my lifestyle has changed so dramatically that the people I use to hang out with aren't so appealing anymore. I am not interested in being one of the first people to review the new resturant. And when I talk about wanting to go rock climbing they look at me like I have 2 heads.
Finding new friends that have similar interests is my newest venture. I'm not trying to get rid of my old friends, but, let's be honest. I really don't have much in common with them any more.
I want so much more out of life now. I simply cand afford to to spend a lot of time with people whose high point for the week is a pizza and a 12pack. I'm not canceling them as friends, but I really do want/need more.
Has anybody else found this to be true?

I thought I was the only one It was VERY cute at first, but now it's like, GIVE ME A BREAK SIR!!! My mind is so busy with food choices, stalls, scale not moving, cravings, the last thing I need is to have him harass me all the time.
But with that said, deep down inside I am glad that he is showing me so much attention! Love the guy

Ughhh I'm only Down 45 pounds, but my husband can't seem to keep his hands to himself. I mean at first this was cute but now every time I turn a corner he is grabbing me. I'm glad he is finding me attractive, however I'm getting a bit tired of the groping. Anyone else having this issue with their significant other?

I gave up explaining to people why I did this. I agree with Swizzly, time will show him there is nothing "easy" about this route. It's a major and drastic approach to weight loss. But I will add, exercise plays a great role if you want to take full advantage of the procedure. Find something you like.
For me it's walking. It's easy, simple, effective. I never liked to exercise, because I got tired so fast, could not do much, and felt so self- conscious at the gym. But the more I lose, the more I am able to do, the more I want to do. I put on my favorite music and just get going on the treadmill or the park.
    Good luck on your journey.

That is a hard situation to be in! but you can and will make it. Make sure you let him know how his actions are impacted you. And he's making it so much more difficult to fight your cravings by having unhealthy food in reach. Reminds him of why you did it.
But also, remember you did this for you. This is your journey. This is your fight. You need to make changes for yourself. If he supports you, great. If he does not, you are still in charge of your body and what you eat. You can still chose what you eat, how much you eat, and how that will impact your weight loss.

Unless he's actively pushing you not to get surgery or trying to prevent you doing it, I wouldn't bother trying to convince him of too much of anything. He's entitled to his own opinion and it doesn't necessarily reflect at all on your own motivations or needs. I would say if you do get the surgery, his opinion will change by watching what you have to do in terms of still choosing proper foods and exercise.
    Good luck!

Just remember to save EVERY receipt pertaining to your surgery... anything over 7.5% of your gross income is deductible on next years tax return... that will help to offset the tax hit you will take for having withdrawn the money..
