  1. I am in San Diego and I am 7 weeks post-op and doing good. If you have questions or want to connect feel free to send me a personal message.
  2. I was peeking into the man's room! I am sure you will get more attention, I always do when I lose weight. But I don't think you need to overthink what your friend was saying either, I think she was just trying to be positive. I have noticed that people always want to try to say something encouraging even when they have nothing to say. And I think you will deserve more attention once you have lost a bit, it shows that besides having a winning personality, you take care of yourself. And that is sexy too!
  3. Yeah, relax. It's done & there is no going back now anyway. My first waking thought in the recovery room after surgery was "what did I just do?!" First week sucks, second is better, and it gets better every day after that. I am 6 weeks out and I feel like a normal human agian, maybe a human who eats like a bird, but normal nonetheless. You will get through.
  4. Had my surgery 5/14. Feeling good now. Lost 40 lbs total, 12 during pre- op diet. I may have finally hit a stall because I haven't lost anything in close to a week. I am hoping it's because I haven't been able to work out since Monday because I smashed my shin and ankle up bike riding on Monday . Didn't break anything, thank god, but that's the risk when you start getting more active!!

  6. One of my incisions got infected 2 weeks out. Long ( gross) story short, after antibiotics it drained and it was left exactly like yours. Even the measurements sound the same. it healed from the inside out once I started letting air get to it so it could scab. I would cut a regular size band aid in half lengthwise and put it crossing the wound so there was an open gap on either side for air. It healed up and it's not indented or anything. You will probably be fine. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. That sounds like great advice, thanks
  8. My Dr. signed me off for 3 weeks. I probabally could have gone back after two, but appreciated the three. When I came back I was on soft foods and had no problems wityh mobility, so I think 3 is best.
  9. I guys. Im four weeks out and i am doing 25-45 minutes of cardio daily. I'm allowed to add weight training 6-8 weeks out, but it's not mentioned anywhere when I can start working out my abs. When did you start?? What did your surgeons say? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. I am 4 weeks out and lost the same amount. I was super lethargic first two weeks, but I gradually started adding in cardio and now I feel almost 100% and I workout everyday. I started with 10 minutes stationary bike and 10 minutes treadmill with incline and everyday I added a little more and now I am up to 45 min of cardio daily. I always eat protien first and drink my 2 protien shakes daily. I know everyone is different, but it will come around, just keep moving.
  11. Yeah Chocolate Premier premixed drinks at Costco are the bomb. Plus they have 30 grams of protien per shake.
  12. May 14 th for me. Down 33 lbs total, 12 of which were from the pre- op diet. Went back to work this week and I am working out or walking 30-45 min every day. Got a long way to go, started at 320 and presently at 287, but I'm feeling a lil better everyday.

  14. My surgeon said to expect a stall 3 or 4 th week, because you lose some muscle the first few weeks bc of the full liquid diet. He said once you start adding protein in ur foods and shakes, you gain some of that muscle back so you hit a stall. He said no fear, and to expect loss again the week after. So keep ur head up!
  15. I am 12 days post op. I walked 3 times a day for the first 10 days. Each day a little longer and faster. I was cleared on day 9 to hit the gym (no weights yet) so yesterday and today I did just that. I got in 30 min cardio before I started feeling light headed. I did 10 min stationary bike, 15 min walking with incline, and 5 min elliptical. Felt great, but it wipes me out bc I'm still on liquids. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  16. No, never had to do one. My surgeon said he did the test during surgery.
  17. I was sleeved 10 days ago and I just went to the gym in my condo complex!!! I walk by it everyday on my thrice daily walks, and today I decided WTH, I'm going in there. I didn't know if I would have the strength to do much but I did 25 min cardio. I was headed for the elliptical and realized I was dizzy, so instead I chilled out and then headed home. It felt good and I am so happy to be active this early after surgery. More good things to come! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  18. When did u guys have to do leak tests? I'm 2 weeks out and haven't heard of this. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  19. Oops, hit send on accident. Anyway, I lost 12 lbs over the pre- op diet. But holy crap, almost 30 lbs already!! Got my stitches out today and feeling great. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  20. I was sleeved on May 14th, so 9 days out. Down 27 lbs including the pre op diet, and I had lost 12 lbs Sent from my iPhone using VST
  21. I just didn't care about posting right after the surgery. I was so drugged up anyway! I kept falling asleep like a narcoleptic! I don't know how some of these people post right after surgery. Big ups to them for being troopers! Lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
  22. I had my surgery Monday and was released home Tuesday. First couple of days sucked, but I followed directions, walked a lot & took my pain meds. It's been 5/6 days and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm sipping liquids all day but have got them all in. The gas & indegestion are bearable and the surgery wounds are super small, I have 5 in total. I'm going to drive to my friends house tomorrow to watch Game of Thrones, I have to get out of my house! But doing great! Down 20 lbs including the pre op diet. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  23. I was sleeved on Monday and on day 6 I'm doing pretty good. Yeah slow sips, frequent walks, and rest. Surgery day and the day after sucked for me too. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  24. Protein is supposed to help, but it's a crap shoot. I did Optifast through kaiser in 2007 and lost over 100 lbs and 5 months in i started losing a ton of hair. It sucked bad. No one else could really tell but it was obvious to me and when it started growing back in I had short hairs shooting straight up all over my head. Apparently your body reacts to the weight and nutrient loss by redirecting other protein sources like hair & nails to more vital organs. Or so they say. It will come back tho. 25. Thx guys. Emailed my NUT and she said start with 1/4-1/2 cup of full liquids and see what I can tolerate. I think everybody's advice would have been fine. I'm just still in week one so I am obsessing over everything!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
