  1. Hi guys. I got sleeved Monday and am supposed to progress to full liquids today. I know the goal of the clear liquid diet was to get in 64 oz of liquid, but my guidelines say nothing about how much full liquid I can tolerate. For example: yogurt or creamed wheat, how much can I tolerate? Anyone know? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. Yeah I guess all doctors have different diet requirements. I was allowed to add full liquids at day 4, protein drinks at day 7. I'm excited about full liquids but worried it won't go down. Even propel is tough sometimes! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. I feel you sister! Got home on tuesday, surgery on Monday. Still sore but it gets better! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. Had my surgery Monday too. Doing pretty good, I walk every hour and am getting in all my liquids. I am a bit fatigued, have intermittent gas and stomach pains, and my stomach muscles are definitely sore. But if those are my major problems, that's not much to complain about! I'm still taking it easy week one though. Besides my hourly walk abouts i am resting the majority of the time. Looking forward to being more active next week. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. Hi guys. I was sleeved Monday morning at 10 am, and discharged from the hospital the next day at noon. I'm doing well. Walking every hour or so, got in all my liquids yesterday. I will say this much, day one sucks, especially if you've never had major surgery like me. Pain, nausea, no stomach muscle strength ( and u use those to laugh, cough, sit up, lay down!!!). But it does get better every day so keep your eye on the prize! Today I get to add in full liquids like yogurt and creamed soups. I don't know how much I'll b able to get down but I've been on just water and propel so far so I'm excited for change. Good luck to everyone! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. Heading to the hospital now!!! The day has finally come! Despite all my fretting, I feel relatively calm right now. Just soooo ready to get this over with so I can start losing and living. I will keep you all posted. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. I feel you sister! The waiting game is on. I've been trying to stay occupied but I keep ending up on this website, or digging through my pre- op manual! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  8. My surgery is the 14 th too! It's going to be a long haul. 140 lbs to lose! That's a whole person. Thank god it's almost here. I'm ready off a new life. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  9. I'm the 14th. Holy crap! I can't believe it's finally happening on Monday. It's definitely all I can think about.
  10. I hope I feel the same, my surgery is one week. I'm a positive person with a high pain tolerance, so I am hopeful. Thx for sharing tho, makes me even more excited!
  11. Ok, so this might sound crazy, but I was having terrible headaches from caffiene withdrawl and I found a strange suggestion that worked. There is a yoga breathing technique where you plug your right nostril and breathe in and out deeply through your left nostril for 5 minutes. Crazily enough, it works. There is all sorts of stuff about it on the internet. May want to give it a whirl. Good luck!
  12. Less than two weeks for me. The big day is May 14th. I started my liquid diet yesterday. The liquid diet should be no problem, I did optifast for 6 months and medifast for about the same amount of time. Too bad I couldn't keep the weight off from eith er of those two diets!!! I quit the caffeine, which sucked initially, but I think the B12 vitamins are helping to compensate for the energy. Good luck to all! If anyone here is getting sleeved in San Diego, hit me up. I am definitely looking for local sleeve buddies. I want this to be the last time I have to lose weight!!
  13. I have never even heard of this! I am hoping this won't be a surprise dropped on me. I start my liquid diet Monday and have surgery in two weeks. When did you find out about this?
  14. Yeah I'm not looking forward to the caffeine withdrawal. k.i.t.
  15. Yes dr mueller is awesome. You must be excited, and yes, let's absolutely keep in touch. Good luck next week!
  16. Hi hellonurse, I am here in San Diego too and my surgeon is dr mueller too!! I also just got approved for surgery on may 14, with my pre- op class on may 2. Super excited to find someone local.
  17. Omg I was laughing so hard about the post above! Now i am so worried about farting post-op!!! Thank you for your honesty though, and it' good advice to keep it in perspective. The post-op healing is nothing in the big picture.
  18. LBeauty, I saw you mentioned you have taken meds for Epilepsy, I take Depakote for Epilepsy. When I was first prescribed it at 16, was the first time I ever had problems weight. Sucks. Did your surgeon mention anything about how certain meds are tolerated after VSG?
  19. HI guys! So, I also started this whole process almost a year ago. I had to do everything to finally get it approved, 6 month diet and all. UI am getting sleeved by Dr. Mueller at Sharp Memorial here is San Diego CA on May 14th. I am totally obsessed with the surgery, right now I am at work and I am all over this website! I must say I am so glad this forum exists, there is a wealth of knowledge here that you just cant get from the flimsy packet of paperwork you get from the surgeon. Anyways, looking forward to losing with you guys!!
  20. Hi buddies! May 14th for me! Super excited, it's been in the works for a year. I'm 33 and in sunny San Diego. I've tried to join the group a million times, but nothing happens when I click join group. Anyone know what I need to do?

  22. So, my surgery is scheduled May 14th, and I am very excited. Needless to say, I have been all over this website and I have noticed that all of you are talking about Iron supplements. I just made an order for my post-op supplements recommended by my doctor, and I was not instructed to get iron. I was told to purchase a multivitamin (has a little iron in it), calcium citrate with vitamin D, and sublingual B-12. However, my surgeon combined his vertical sleeve and gastric bypass instructions in one packet with no differences. I seriously think he needs to update his paperwork, because they are different procedures with different dietary needs and restrictions. Thoughts??
  23. I got the call on Wednesday and I ran around my office high-fiving people! I had to jump through all of the hoops, 6 month diet and all. I am so glad I made it here. I have lost the weight on my own 3 times before and have always gained it back. I really hope this is the change I need and feel very blessed.
