  1. i did it as well =. I dont like yogurt but found the great value french vanilla plain fat free was really good. the nurses at int are awesome, the pain meds are not as strong. I want you to know what to expect so im laying it all out, My sleeve sister agreed, the meds just barely took the edge off, You will love the hotel and staff, Overall i am so glad i did this, Today is day 3 post op. ive thought about food but it doesnt really bother me, Im good with my juice and broth, The broth at the hotel is AWESOME!
  2. today is day 3 and i am in very minimal pain. the first 48 hrs are horrible but everyone is different, if you dont vomit much your soreness and pain should be very little. Staying positive today, its beautiful here in Tijuana. The weather is so cool and sunny. Enjoying our last day and then heading home to my babies tomorrow, thanks for all the support my fellow vsg members. Without you guys im not sure where my state of mind would be.
  3. today is day 3 and im feeling so much better. spoke to trish and she called dr. ponce while on the phone. everything is fine, I am so sore and could hardly move because is used so much muscle throwing up the first 24 hrs, i dont do good on anesthesia so i knew i would be sick just didnt realize to what extent, i showered by myself and walked, slept awesome and am ready for the beach today, I am now looking forward to living life with my new sleeve. didn mean to scare those who have not had it but everyone is different, my sleeve sister didnt have as much pain because she didnt vomit as much,
  4. im two days out and the pain is non stop., the meds arent working. throwing up did me in the first night. Im out of the hospital and the pain is still the same. when will it ease? im not sure how mch more i can take!!!
  5. surgery was a success the pain was a failure. Not sure i would do this again at this point maybe ask me in a few months. Im miserable. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts i still need them coming. Hope this gas eases soon, ugh
  6. i have to say this has been one hell of a journey for me. I def doubted myself. I vomited so much that i was so sore and couldnt get enough pain meds in me to stop the pain. The pain meds they give you are not strong so if you take meds like i do on a daily basis please stop them a month before surgery. that is my advice. Dr. Ponce and trish are amazing, One of Dr, Ponce partners i cannot say the same for. He told me to toughen up. LOL I do well with pain and cant figure out why i was in so much pain but assume it was from all the vomiting. Once the drain is out you are on the fast track to feeling better. Gas is horrible and so painful. Say a prayer that my pain eases and im home safe in the states monday painfree. thanks for all the support
  7. thanks everyone.im at int just waiting on the dr. the flight was miserable and im still quesy from it. The nurse gave me nauseau meds and antibiiotic in my iv and i dry heeved a little. This antibiotic is STRONG! Dr Ponce should be here in the next couple hrs, Continue to pray for me.

  14. No mine is Aflac however most will Pay if it's deemed medically neccessary. Mine will not pay because mine has an exclusion for any treatment outside the states and I'm Going to Mexico! Give them a call and ask. Tell them your plans! I heard if some life insurance policies decline you for up to 5 yrs after gastric sleeve so I'm thinkin my decision to do it in Mexico is a great option not just for the money but for my kids

  17. Have only been on a plane once and it was no longer than 2 hrs. I get motion sickness horribly and am wondering why the heck I'm going to do for 4.5 hrs on a plane! Does anyone know if I will have movies/tv to watch? I'm flying from jax to atl, then atl to San Diego. I hope to sleep but I don't think my nerves will let me. I can't read or I will be nauseous. Going to ask my surgeon If there is anything I can take being I'm having surgery that same day. Was thinking Tylenol pm, or benadryl. Any ideas or advice would be welcomed!
  18. All the last minute worries have set in. I know I will be fine but can't help but think everything will go wrong and I won't make it home! Lol I'm going to miss my kids and worry myself sick until I'm in recovery! Ugh

  22. I have short term disabilty through my work and they will not cover elective procedures. Now if I have a hernia it may cover it. I was going to ask that today. Anyone else have any issues getting short term for an elective procedure?
  23. Wow, didnt think about that however the people i will need to contact do not have iphones or face time. LOL my mother barely knows how to work her phone. I didnt think about wifi However, att did not state if I used that, that i wouldnt be charged. They just said "do not use internet or you will face over 100 in charges"! I will ask them about this. thank for the info! Hope it all goes well. Please let me know how you do. Im so nervous.
  24. I leave next week for surgery wtih Dr. Ponce and thought about everything I think except phone coverage and internet so today I phoned my plan and sure enough if I use internet while over in MX I will incurr a ton of extra charges as well as .99 a minute for calls and .99 per text! Has anyone found a way around this? Im taking the laptop and hope to just email but I will still need to phone my kids daily. Think I may look into getting a pre paid phone from mexico just to call my family for those few days if its pretty cheap. Anyone have any suggestions or experience they would like to share?
