I did my preop testing at a different hospital because preop was covered by insurance but the surgery itself wasn't. The doctor gave me an order for specific testing to take to wherever I wanted to get the testing done. I don't think the hospital would care why you were doing it there, as long as they got paid

Most all of my pre-op testing was done at the hospital close to my work while my surgery was done at the hospital closer to my home.

Kiki Von Moonshine reacted to Webchickadee in After Wls No Sagging Skin
We all have so many factors that impact how our skin will react to weight loss:
our age (younger is better for skin elasticity and recovery post WLS)
amount of excess weight (if you're only 50-60 lbs overweight, you have a better chance of no excess skin than if you're 100-150 lbs overweight)
skin damage (due to smoking, sunlight exposure, chronic dehydration, etc.)
genetics (some people are blessed in the genetic lottery.....the rest of us just have to deal with being "runner's up")
number of years we've been obese (the longer the skin is stretched out, the harder it is for it to recover its original form - think of a balloon)

I have been overweight since I was about 11 years old (I'm 42 now). For the last 10 years I have been in the 300 lb range (HW - 330 lbs). I KNOW that with that long history of morbid obesity, my age and the locations of my greatest fat concentration (legs/buttocks/stomach/breasts/arms), that I will require EXTENSIVE plastic surgery intervention.
My greatest concern is how I'm going to pay for it, as it will be all on my own tab. And of course, I'd like to avoid so many general anaesthetics and long recover periods post-surgery.
But I know I will at the LEAST require an abdominoplasty and brachioplasty. Then if there's any money left, I might get a lower body lift or get my inner and outer thighs done.
Some surgeon's going to LOVE me when I walk in the door. ($$$ signs flashing before his eyes!)
    LOL

Mines were never perky, and my insurance pays for a lift so that is definitely going to take place. Lol kittens playing with boobs. ddd is an E, it really depends on manufacturers sizing chart. I wear an H in LB sizes.

Mine grow and shrink with weight loss and gain. I'm only 5'2". When I am 50 lighter I wear a DDD, which is manageable and looks good with the rest of my body. Right now I'm an F which is just plain ridiculous, I'm looking forward to them shrinking. They're not perky anyway thanks to their size and nursing 2 babies, but at least when they're "collapsable" you can stuff them in a pretty bra and not look like you have a bed pillow under your shirt like I do now

Well, if I find myself on fire, I think I have other things to worry about. But barring that, I think there are other ways to survive and thrive than feeding on our fellow Earthlings. Yes, they are tasty, but I think they may object if they had a say in it.
But that is another topic for another thread.

It started off as medicaid alone then eventually chose a medicaid managed program (Health plus, affinity, etc) So in a nut shell its still medicaid when I answer the question "What type of insurance you have?" by any one in a hospital/clinic etc.

I think its natural to have fears of the physical changes when dealing with weightloss. While I can agree that a large majority of black men might like "thickness" in a woman, not all do. Whats most important is trying to overcome fears that both partners might have. Communication is important, honest and open communication. I feel that a partner should accept your size regardless, especially if its improving you, i.e. eliminating comorbities, or the positive physical changes. Losing weight is not something breaking up over so tell that partner to chill out and sit down somewhere.

Im all about health first. Being thick doesnt always equate to unhealthy. I also realize that not everyones thick is the same. A YT video I watched showed women who the creater thought was thick, and a woman no bigger than 150 lbs at about 5"7 was considered thick. I dont really use the term to describe a persons physique its too varying. I do get the point you are trying to make though.

Does anyone feel like they might be a tad more "wild" in their new bodies? When I say wild I mean a little more risque, showing more body, or being sexy 24/7? Lol.

Honestly I would have flipped. The story with the trash in your food is kind of crazy! In his mind he probably is thinking you are full or soon to be so he just put his stuff in there. He really was thinking at the moment. If he does it again then I don't know what to tell you. I'd just say, stand your ground, and ask for consideration. In general regardless if I'm done or the person is done first at the table, we start getting ready to leave together.

I do not own a scale, so I rarely weigh myself. I stepped on the scale at my Mom's house...and I've lost 10 more lbs! Yay! That's a total of 43 lbs in 5 weeks! I keep pinching myself...I never thought I could lose weight and I feel as if I am living a dream! I will be so glad when my physical therapist releases me to exercise, so I can really get active

Oooo.. He was doing it before? Is he plus size too? Sometimes when you eat to fast you can't enjoy the food. Is he waiting until he is starving to eat? Either way he still needs to respect you when you guys eat. That's just rude.
