  1. Congrats Lisa!! Are you going with the St. Louis surgeon you were originally considering?
  2. The sweet mucousy saliva that builds & rolls down your throat & then you vomit
  3. Yes I am having the same problem. The protein shakes are gagging me but I keep on trying. My overall soreness in abdomen is almost gone. I feel pretty good other than still a little weak.
  4. Thanks everyone. It is lunchtime and I am still making it pretty good.
  5. It is amazing how each day makes a huge difference!! I am back to work this morning. I have a desk job and it is mostly data entry. I am an accountant for the State of MO and I work in individual income tax. As you can imagine.. we are quite busy!! I must admit I am fairly weak and my brain feels like I am in a fog. I am managing to get my 60 gm of Protein in and staying plenty hydrated. Just going to do what I can do and plug along. Kathy
  6. I am doing great!! Had my first post op visit with surgeon today. I am cleared to go back to work & do anything I feel like doing. Down 8lbs since surgery . No problems getting my fluids in but still struggling to get all my protein in. The frisbee sized (j/k) chewable vitamins are horrible. How is it going for you?
  7. I was also sleeved on 4/11. The recliner is my new best friend. I can lie flat in bed for a couple of hours but not much longer.
  8. I can so relate to this!! LOL. Mine is getting better each day. First couple of days it felt like I was trying to swallow chards of glass.
  9. Good luck Mita!! We will be fine:). Cant wait to hear about your journey.
  10. Good luck Krissy & Mita. Thanks everyone :$
  11. I'm lying on the gurney waiting on my IV to be started. This is finally happening!! See you on the loser's bench. Lost 12.5# on pre-op liquid diet. Weight is 174.8 this morning. Started this journey in Sept. @ 227. Little over halfway to goal.
  12. I'm tomorrow also!! Really excited to sit on the loser's bench with yall. We make a great team.
  13. Will be praying for y'all tomorrow.
  14. True reality!! I'm so close - Wed.
  15. I am,too!! April 11 for me so excited!! Down 10 lbs so far on liquid diet.
  16. It depends on your surgeon's guidelines. Mine allows Slim Fast Low Carb. No fruity additives. I can also have SF jello, SF popcicles & clear broths. I am on day 14 of 20.
  17. Good luck Courtney!! Will be praying for you.
  18. I am having to do a 21 day liquid diet before surgery and there will be 2 weeks of more liquids post op. I am on day 12 pre op and honestly I couldn't care less if I never ate anything else again. Food doesn't even interest me anymore (I'm sure this will change.) Like Lissa.. I am totally detoxed and really feel good. I did have a few days the first week of some slumps and no energy but that seems to have passed. Good luck on your journey and focus on the goal. No doubt I can do this now and so can you.
  19. Thanks Blackberryjuice!! I am proud of myself! I can & will do this! Gabe (son) is doing better than expected this evening. Just wanting his surgery on Thurs to be over with.
  20. So proud of you!! This is a great place for support. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Good luck on your journey.
  21. Cinda... thank you so much!! I knew you would understand Gabe has a long recovery ahead of him. The accident broke the ball off the top of the tibia ( big bone in leg) and it is just flopping. It also broke the tibia in several places and shattered up through his knee cap. They can't do surgery on it until Thursday so some of the swelling can go down. He is in unbearable pain. Lilu--- Congrats on getting your date moved up!! Thank you for your sweet post. I apprecitate it so much. Good luck to you also and keep me posted on your journey. Kathy
  22. I am on scheduled on April 11 and on day 11 of 20 day liquid pre op diet. On Saturday my son was in a motorcylce accident and severely broke his leg in several places. For the first time in my life I did not reach for something to eat!! I grabbed my bottles of Isopure and flavored waters and to the hospital I went. And... you know what?? I survived and it wasn't even hard. I made up my mind last fall when I began this journey that I am going to eat to live from now on. I ate too well ( anything and everything I wanted plus lots more) for 54 years. It was time to change and by golly I have!! Just had to tell someone that would understand. Kathy
  23. Snoho -- congrats!! What a wonderful surprise!!
  24. I am doing pretty well on the 2 week preop liquid diet. I have had a headache as well. My nerves are still good. Hard to beieve surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow. I put a countdown app on my phone. LOL That makes it real to me.
