  1. I don't know much, but it does sound too tight. I have also read here that the saliva increase is normal in those circumstances. Good luck!
  2. It did take almost 3 weeks to get back to normal for me. I went back to work in 3 weeks, and am glad I did not try to go back sooner. I did not feel the band, but the port was bothersome for some time. It felt as though it did not belong there, and when I sneezed, it felt as though it wanted to pop out. Now, I am going to the gym, and doing well with that. Been able to lift the heavy objects at work, and have enough stamina to get through that day. Hang in there!
  3. Frank, that is so nice to say, it sounds like something my husband would say. How did you both do with recover, considering you were both done on the same day? Did you make contingencies in case one of you or both of you had problems? I am happy for you, and you both deserve it.............
  4. I wonder why you were told to avoid oatmeal. I am pretty sure that is the only cereal my doctor wants me to eat. Most other cereals are full of sugar. I buy the tub of instant oats, add water, splenda, and cinnamon to it, and that works great for me. Oatmeal is supposed to reduce bad cholesterol, and cinnamon is good for maintaing blood sugar levels. And it is also a soft food. Anyone else have any ideas?
  5. Yes, it does help to hear that other people are in the same boat. Or then again, is it misery loves company? Most likely not, as it is also good to hear that the others are now doing better, after going through a rough patch, too. I am so bummed though, as I was finally beginning to feel good, back to normal, doing good things, taking vitamins, protein, going to the gym, eating better, and now I have one heck of a cold! Boy am I sick! Sheese, guess a couple more days then I will be back..........
  6. I agree, I agree! Still always hungry, no fill until the 23rd, and can eat almost anything! I want to lose too, I keep hoping that going to the gym helps. Yeah, how are you, Synicalchick?
  7. Maybe it was Promethesine, (sp), which is the generic for phenergan.
  8. I can drink water pretty fast. Geeze, can not wait for first fill!
  9. Yup, I was banded on the 2/14, and now hubby is jumping through the hoops for his surgery. Somewhere there is another post about family banding, here.
  10. Oh, you all are just too funny! I loved those last couple of comments! I think it would be fun to play with the psych eval, and see what happens.......only if it would not interfere with our future banding! Connie, my eval. was a lot like yours. I actually liked the evaluator. I also had to pay 100.00 cash. faithmd. I wonder why you have to take it again. You know, you have a right as far as I know to see your evaluation. Was thinking of asking to see mine.
  11. Hi Marylanders! I live on the state line, but just over the line in De. We live just outside of OC, MD. However, no one seems to be showing up from De. I was wondering if anyone in this group lives on the Eastern Shore? I bet not..... If so, though, let me know, because that is where I am.
  12. I saw that some people here went back to work within a few days. Don't know how they did that! I took 3 weeks off. I have to lift and carry heavy things, and was afraid that they might hit the port site, and that would not be good. I only went back 2 days ago, and all is going well.
  13. Everyone of those comments make me ill. How can people be like that? They say what goes around, comes around, but I am still waiting to see that. My brother asked me last summer if one cheesecake would be enough for me. I believe most comments are made behind my back.
  14. That's the first thing that came to my mind too, the things used to prop their eyes open!
  15. I am glad that someone else used the word; "confusing"! I too can easily it soft, bad foods, while the better foods that I have to chew and chew do not always agree with me. I chew until it tastes too yucky to swallow, then if no one is around, I spit it out! I need the bad for you foods to be too chewy to eat!
  16. Yup, she is thoughtless, and it is a shame she has a supervisor position. Also a shame that such flawed individuals have such a position!
  17. You all look fantastic! What a lovely picture.
  18. I am waiting for both of those things to happen! But then again, I have not been at this as long as you all!
  19. Oh Tracy, Geeze, when will it end? I had never heard of a yeast infection lasting that long. I have never had the thrush in the mouth, just a few of the down below varieties. They usually followed antibiotic use for me, last one in November after my gall bladder surgery. What a mess, I can not understand why they don't go away, I am so sorry about that.
  20. You missed me!! I was banded on 2/14, also. Thanks!
  21. Your darn right, that is not funny!!!
  22. Silry.....I like your weigh in the evening idea! Now, for what I was told. Are you going to the fitness center? If so, there may be no weight loss for awhile, while the lean muscle is being made. Muscle weighs more than fat, so that could be a reason. I am hoping that is the case for me!
  23. Nope, I agree, no regrets...maybe we just thought this would be so easy, right from the begining. I know that I thought at least that the surgery part would be a breeze, because I had my gall bladder removed in Novemeber, and the surgery and recovery went so well, no pain, easy to move around, blah, blah. Even same type of surgery, (laproscopic). Never had the gas type pain, (Kerr's Sign), either. So, will work on this, and it will get better for us!!!
  24. I woke up a lot clearer than I did after the choley is November. I did really start coughing, though, then had stress incontinence! Sheese! No pain, though, but I don't remember much after that, but I think I woke up and was ready to go home, pretty quickly.
  25. Woo Hoo, a party!!! I like that idea.....especially if it involves a trip, and one to nicer weather! For some reason, we did not get snow all winter, and today in the mid Atlantic states we are on our way to a nice snow storm! I still get the rib and shoulder pain on occasion, and it still hurts, but much better than before. Kathy, I still felt like you do a week ago, so just think it will get better. I know, I think of my poor husband, going through the 6 month pre-op hoop jumping, and my aches and pains are scaring him! Also the still hungry part is making him think twice about going through with it. I hope things get better with the first fill, then he will see that it is still worth it!
