Let him know since u didn't have success with the band ur contemplating the by pass....I'm sure he/she will have good advice along with a plan top move forward with....good luck with everything....let us know how it gos
  2. Good luck with your up coming journey.... I didn't tell any of my family except for my kids and husband... i know that my parents would have been against it and i didn't need any negativity. i was already extremely nervus as it was.so i know how u feel I still haven't told my family

  8. hello all, i was just wondering how do we know when we finally reached our green zone?? i just had my first fill a few weeks ago and I'm not as hungry as i was before the fill. But i have heard people talk abt the green zone or sweet spot. And i was just wondering how does one know when they've reached it?? can anyone shine some light into this topic thank you in advance!
  9. Girl you can do it! you just have to keep telling ur self it will all be worth it at the end.
  10. So close, yet so far. When you say you've learned to eat around your band,. Do you mean you eat between meals?
  11. I think it depends on the surgeon.Mine requires supervised dieting, I do know other surgeons that don't. I went thru 2 surgeons before I had mine done.the first one didn't required supervised dieting
  12. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the proper care. But i have heard that with the lapband you can just start over.
  13. took me a week for my insurance. I did a supervised diet with a doctor about 6 or 7 yrs prier. that counted as my supervised doctor diet...
  14. I go for my first fill in 2 days. I was starting to freak out thinking about it. Thank you for the info
  15. that's awesome. i too have an old pair of jeans from like 5 yrs ago I only wore 2 times.I will be a happy camper the day i can fit back into them
  16. I know exactly what your saying. that's what keeps me motivated.I can wait to be able to go to the store and have options
  17. Yeah, I have to keep telling my self how fast do I want to loose the wait. I know if I stay active and do my exercise I'll keep loosing faster. My goal is to try n loose 50 lbs as fast as I can. Then reevaluate, and figure out how fast I want to loose the 45 lbs I'll have left to meet my goal wait
  18. I didn't have to do diet before my surgery. One week post op, I lost 14lb being on the liquid diet. But as soon as I started the soft food diet I gained 3 lbs. I'm now 3 weeks post op n have lost a total of 21 lbs. But I know as soon as I start solid food, I'll probably gain a few lbs back is like regular diets. But hopefully without the hunger I can't wait for my first fill in a few weeks. Remember to walk every day I've notice that if I don't walk my wait stays the same I have to keep motivating my self. hopefully my experience helps you. We all need a good support sistim to help us thru our journey. Every time I come to here motivates me
  19. This is going to be one of the hardest things to get use to
  20. OMG! I haven't even looked into this yet...I should probably find out if fills are covered by my insurance
  21. I'm sorry ur going thru this alone. I wanted to have the band for a few yrs now but didn't want anyone to know abt it. When i finally put things into motion i told my husband and kids, right away i heard the why u don't need it and everything else in between. i then stopped everyone n said to them this is something I'm going to to i don't care to hear any negative stories or anything else. I'm just letting you all know that this is what I'm doing for my self i don't care what ppl have to say or what they think about it is going to happen and all I need from my family is support...after that my husband has been supportive as well as my children I did have my first born try n talk me out of it a few other times and i would reply to her by saying is going to happen and I'm going to need everyone's support including yours.I'm happy to say she's being amazing she helped me so much during my first week of recovery. i also told my boss and a few ppl at work which i know is going to get around like while fire. we've actually had 3 ppl that also had a band at my work and you wouldn't believe all the gossip that went around. but i figure If this ppl look amazing now I don't want to get left behind lol...so i guess what I'm saying is all that really matters is family and they will love you even if they don't approve I haven't told my parents or anyone else. i already know my parents aren't going to approve. But guess what I'm a grown a** woman and need no ones approval to do what's best for me.......good luck on your journey and if your not ready to start telling ppl don't tell them, only you know when your ready
