  1. Wow you look awesome!!!
  2. Sounds like your body is in starvation mode, you won't loose weight easily if your not consuming the proper amount of liquids and food. Your ideal liquid intake should be 64ounces, if you are newly post op this may seem impossible, but little by you should work at attaining this goal. This should be your first priority as dehydration can get you back in the hospital. They key to liquids is sip, sip, sip. As far as foods you should try slowly consuming soft foods, it may be a whole before you can actually consume all your protein, but work on it, it is important. If you need to drink protein drinks to get your protein in. I hope this helps, and it does seem like a huge burden at first, but trust me when I say it does get better.
  3. I do measurements once a month. On my surgery anniversary.
  4. The surgery does actually effect hormones, so that could be it. But have no fear the journey gets easier/better with each day that passes.
  5. Wow, what an inspirational story. When one door closes another one opens. Best of luck to you.
  6. Welcome to the club. Remember the hard part is over.
  7. I only told a few family members and no friends. I'm sure my coworker/lunch buddy suspects something, as when it comes to lunch time, her response is we can go eat anywhere you can eat. Lol, at this point I really don't care, as long as they ask out of concern and not gossip. Pre op I really didn't want to say anything but now I don't give a damn, but on that note I still don't go around advertising it.
  8. I totally get it, I had to do my 6 month diet TWICE. I said something during one of my visits, along the lines that I was not able to exercise 5 days but I was able to walk, I also said that I had eaten out like 2 times. My insurance denied me because of that. I was really pissed. So the second time I said everything that I felt my insurance wanted to hear. It does go by fast. I wish you the best of luck.
  9. I'm with blackberry juice there is very little difference between the size of snacks and meals. So I tend to eat 5-6 times a day.
  10. I think you did good. Your selections were good ones.
  11. Is anyone planning any out door exercise?? I will most likely bring out my bike this week. This is also great walking weather...
  12. Wishing you a quick recovery.
  13. Talk about best birthday gift ever.
  14. Haha... Well good luck, and I'll send positive vibes your way.
  15. Looking good. Keep up the good work.
  16. Thanks I will also try that.
  17. Ok, as far as vanity for hair loss I tried Xfusion which really hides thinning hair. I ordered it from amazon and it is pretty reasonable.
  18. Hmm... I'm 7 weeks post op and I've eaten beef already with no problems.
  19. How far post op are you? Maybe you and your daughter can make cookies and give them away to other moms?? So you can't eat your way through mothers day, but think of all you do have. Maybe you can take some of those cookies to a nursing home, if not for lonely residents, I'm sure there are a lot of working moms on duty tomorrow.
  20. I would try to stick with water and Gatorade for a while. Try to stay away from dairy including protein drinks for the next day or two. I hope you feel better soon.
  21. Congrats. I know it feels like forever, but before you know it may 31 will be here. I would suggest practacing with the slow eating, the whole chewing 30 times takes some getting used to.
  22. I've never had this happen. Does it happen when you do a specific kind of exercise. For example are you lifting or doing cardio??
  23. Yes, I'm sure it's the meds. Now that I am only taking my vitamins I no longer detect the funky smell. It's a small price to pay.
  24. I was told by my nut that I can have 3 meals and 2 snacks. I do eat my snacks, I need them. I am 7 weeks post op, and I feel like I'm adjusting to eating smaller meals, as that also helps with metabolism.
