  1. Congrats. I feel your pain, as I also have pcos. Best of luck to you.
  2. Thanks for the story. It is very reassuring that you picked the vsg with your extensive back round.
  3. Looking good. Keep up the good work.
  4. Customarily hospitals will ask for copay and deductibles in advance. I have heard some places that make you pay the out of pocket in advance. I was lucky that my hospital didn't require prepayment. But do be aware that you will have to eventually pay the full out of pocket, my out of pocket is 2,500 and it looks like I'm on the hook for that.
  5. Trust me it gets easier with everyday that passes.
  6. You look great keep up the good work.
  7. Glad to hear that your feeling better, and remember it does get a bit easier/ manageable everyday.
  8. You will be on the road to recovery before you know it. Being nervous is normal and I think it is something that we have all experienced. My thoughts are with you.
  9. I work full time and 2 months ago when I had surgery I was enrolled in 4 classes. No issues adjusting.
  10. I'm just about 2 months post op, I'm at 60g of protein and my calories are about 800. My doctor told me at this point not to worry about calories, instead to focus on my protein.
  11. Wow 2 sets of twins, that is pretty awesome. And yes you are blessed. Welcome to your new journey. Remember with everyday that passes it gets better/easier.
  12. I always try to eat organic when I can. It is expensive, but I feel it is very worth it. Best of luck.
  13. Sorry are you eligible for Medicaid? Here in Illinois Medicaid does cover weight loss surgery. Also as it seems money finances are an issue, have you considered Mexico? According to many of the post here there are some top notch doctors and facilities at about $5000 a pop. Best of luck.
  14. Hugs..first I hope that you see what your father did for you as a blessing. There are many people here who want the surgery so bad, but do not have insurance nor can they afford this. You are truly blesses to have someone to take the iniative and help set this up and pay for this. Please don't feel like you don't have support, because you have us. You have seen the food advise above follow it. Have you thought about exersizing?? I can tell you if your 6 feet tall and once the weight comes off, and if your exercising you can have one h£ll of an athletic body. Try searching online for a local support group meeting.
  15. Haha... This is funny because last night I had a dream that I swallowed a big hunk of chewing gum..
  16. Wheesin I think you hit he nail on the head. The whole mucous thing sounds right on.
  17. Ok guys I'm so sorry about the spoiler alerts. That was not my intention. The food I ate was normal and I did eat slow. I think I may have just gotten too emotional and that caused me to vomit.
  18. Its a personal decision, there is no right or wrong answer. You do what you feel is right.
  19. So I ate, then started watching Grey's Anatomy and saw Lexie die, and I just started balling. Then all of a sudden I vomited my food. It was weird. Just had to get that out.
  20. Awesome... Thanks for the heads up..
  21. Don't take What your surgeon said personal. He's an ass and has no concept of your struggle. I think eating every 5 hours would be torture. That would almost be starvation. How many calories are you consuming?? I upped my calories for a few days to see if it helped the scale drop and it worked for me. You do have great weight loss. Keep up the good weight loss..
  22. All I can say it gets A little better every day. Hope you feel better soon. Welcome to the other side of your journey.
