  1. I am doing welll. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.
  2. I'm lying in the bed in the Preop suite waiting for them to take me to surgery. I'll post again when I'm up to it. Make room for me on the losers bench
  3. I don't have to do a liquid diet until 24 hours prepping. Even then I can eat a light bkfst then clears then npo after midnite. I do have to take MoM on Sunday for surgery Tues. I'm cant wait to get on the losers bench
  4. Congrats on getting your license. As an RN for almost 30 years now, I know that you have just completed a most difficult journey ! Kudos to you. I hope that you find the field as gratifying as I have experienced. Surgery on Wed...that's very exciting. I know you can resist the food temptation now (hopefully since you are so close) Let the future stay the future and take it one day at a time. Food has always been associated with love for me too. I am hopeful that I will manage myself correctly when the time comes for me. Once again, congratulations and good luck.
  5. Thanks! Ive calmed down a bit and am more rational now. I will be joining you all on that bench!
  6. For me, the dizziness, nausea and weakness were from too little sodium. I also had a severe headache. I drank a 1/2 cup of chicken bouillon and felt better in an hour. Good luck Sent from my iPad using VST
  7. My surgery is 10 days from now and I'm having a serious case of the jitters! My rational mind says keep going for it but after hearing the plastic surgeon speak today at my support grp, I came home crazy and full of doubts. Although I cannot predict the future, I figure at my age (54 in a month) and the amt of wt I want to lose (100#), I will need at least 5 cosmetic surgeries???? to look the way I want to look afterwards. I am not gonna cancel my surgery by no means, but I feel extra scared today. Any advice or bits of wisdom anyone? Sent from my iPad using VST
  8. I also don't have UHC but my doctors office called me with the approval less than a week later. (submitted on a Thurs. call with approval the next Tues) My date is 3/27 too! Sent from my iPad using VST
  9. Congrats! Get ready for a new you!
  10. Wow, sounds like you are doing well. Good luck and keep us posted.
  11. The one I use is by Ardyss called the Body Magic long which is a full body Capri length. They have many different styles including men's garments.. I also wear the t shirt from them when I don't feel like girding up full force. Here is the website. (hope its ok to post this) Http://Www.ardysslife.com/rtboyd
  12. I have only told my immed family and my best friend. I'm trying to think of what to tell my job as to the reason I will be out. I think im just gonna say I'm having surgery but won't tell them exactly what type. It's not their biz and I think it's against the law for them to ask.
  13. Whaaat! My poor husband. If he had to go thru this again with me. I'm 53 and when I remember those murderous thoughts I used to have I cringe and feel so shamed! Lol
  14. I have been using compression garments for the last 2 years. They are amazing! I am not sure how soon I can get back into mine once I have the surgery due to compression of the abdomen but I hope it will be soon afterwards. I really believe that the garments can help prevent the hanging skin syndrome or at least decrease it.
  15. Wow! You look wonderful!
  16. You look great! I wondering if I could safely cruise again
  17. Sounds like that would as long as you are on clears
  18. I was wondering the same thing. I'm a nurse and do home health. Not a lot of physical work except when I have to do wound care that require bending or helping reposition someone. Lots of driving though. My doc said 2-3 weeks off but I may try to stretch it out since that would coincide with my birthday????
  19. Hi I'm new to this forum and am taking it all in. I am scheduled for surgery 3/27 at CPMC in San Francisco. Anyone been there? I have to lose ten pounds by surgery but was not put on a liquid diet. I am starting Atkins induction today. I am so excited about this! After reading horror stories of all the hoops one has to jump thru to get approved, I thought I was gonna have a hard time. Glad I'm off work today cuz I've been obsessing ever since I got the news. Thanks everyone for all the great info!
