Happy, Excited, Worried.............

1st off let me say that today I found out that I passed my RN state license exame!! Whoo Hoo for me right?!! Yea it's wonderful. Everybody wants to take me out to eat. Issue: I get sleeved on Wednesday. Like the day after tomorrow, Wednesday. I am feeling a certain way because I think, " What wil I do to resist temptation?" I'm hungry and food is always a wonderful gift. i think of all the times I was gifted food. More times tan I can count. I'm worried that after I get sleeved, I won't be able to resist the temptations of these food offerings. The summer is fast approaching and I usually don't eat alot when it's hot but what about the holidays. i know I'm just stressing but I figured why not vent to people who actually know how I feel and what I'm goung through.

  • Congrats on getting your license. As an RN for almost 30 years now, I know that you have just completed a most difficult journey ! Kudos to you. I hope that you find the field as gratifying as I have

Congrats on your license! I had a Superbowl party at my house 2 days before I was sleeved, man that was tough, but it was a small price to pay to get healthy. I find it is easier to resist temptation after being sleeved personally. First, I don't have the constant hunger I felt before surgery. Second, for me, there is a big difference between I shouldn't eat that and I can't eat that. I really don't want to get sick, so I take every precaution not to overeat and make myself sick. I have not had the test of a big family holiday yet, but I have had some get togethers with my friends and resisted all the temptations! I find that food is still enjoyable, but I make much wiser decisions about what I am eating since there is so little of it every bit needs to count.

Surgery on Wed...that's very exciting. I know you can resist the food temptation now (hopefully since you are so close) Let the future stay the future and take it one day at a time. Food has always been associated with love for me too. I am hopeful that I will manage myself correctly when the time comes for me.

Once again, congratulations and good luck.
