  1. Remember, it's more mental than anything. If you want the sleeve and you feel you need to show a loss to be approved, then you can do it. I never thought I could and I can honestly say that I did not cheat once and lost 12lbs in 2 weeks. The Dr threatened to not do the surgery if I didn't follow the directions and I wasn't going to let that happen. You can do it. Good luck and let me know how you are doing.
  2. No it does not have to be that brand, but it needs to be low in sugar/carbs and high in protein. Mine is 27 grams of protein per 8 oz. You can have as much jello or broth as you want.
  3. It consisted of 3 protein shakes (bariatric advantage), sugar fee jello and low sodium broth. No caffeine, no sugar and lots of water. The first 3 days are so hard, but once you past this it is not too difficult. I hope this helps.
  4. I lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks on the pre-op liquid Diet. Maybe you can do this for 5 weeks? You will drop some serious weight.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I have never taken blood pressure meds before and my blood pressure was always around 120/70. I just took it this morning and it is 91/61. I was very weak last week, but this week feel much better. I do get dizzy occasionally, but I told the Dr this and he said if it became worse or blood pressure dropped more to call him right away. I am glad to see others have had low pressure too and will be watching mine closely. I'll let you all know if things change and/or if I hear back from the Dr. I otherwise feel fine.
  6. Went for my 2 week post-op today and was expecting everything to be great. No pain, lost 25lbs (including pre-op) and thought the dr would be so happy. Instead I left feeling a little worried about my health. My blood pressure was 89/50 and dr seemed concerned by how low and he restricted some of my work duties. Anyone else experience something like this? It was also low in the hospital. Dr did tell me that I lost a lot of blood during my procedure, but not enough for a transfusion. Could it be that my body hasn't made enough blood yet to replace what was missing? They didn't even do blood work. I'm not sure if that is normal for the 2 week check up? Maybe he didn't want to take any blood from me because I couldn't afford to lose it? He asked me to buy a blood pressure monitor and keep an eye on it. Anyone have some helpful insight?
  7. Awesome! Thanks so much for the help!
  8. Okay, if I friend someone through my computer, will I be able to follow them through my iPad or am I limited to only following through my computer?
  9. When I click on someone's picture, I do not have an option to friend anyone. I can only see threads they've started, posts they've made and one other thing that I cannot remember. Someone said there should be other buttons so I can follow people. Is it because I'm using this through an app on my iPad? Please help.
  10. Once I click on the picture, do I choose, follow posts by this user? Is that how you keep up with other people? I do not see an option for a friend request.
  11. How to you view someone's profile. Gosh, I feel like an idiot.
  12. Yes!!! I'm only two weeks out, but I cannot drink more than 3 sips of water at a time and it takes me all day to get one shake down. I'm weak and worried about getting enough nutrients. I'm for sure not getting enough water in. Every day is a struggle.
  13. Congrats on your first step to the new you. I am finishing up my second week being sleeved. I'm down 13 lbs since the surgery and 25lbs overall including the 2 week pre-op diet. Good luck and happy healing!
  14. How do you follow people? I've wondered how to do this. I'm fairly new to this site. Sleeved on the 13th.
  15. I only posted once, not sure why it posted so many times. Sorry about that!
  16. I had a rash too, but it was the same week that I came home from the hospital. I was sleeved the 13th. It was from the medical tape. You could be allergic to rubber gloves, tape or anything your dr may have used when examining you. You can develop an allergy at any time. I hope this helps.

  19. Thanks for all the responses. I'm drinking protein drinks from my surgeon and I get about 27 grams of protein from each shake.
  20. I'm so weak. Is this normal? Up until today I have been getting about 50 grams of protein and 48 oz of water. Today, I felt so bad (achy and weak) that I could barely get down 1 protein shake and only 32 oz of water. I have no fever and no pain. I just feel soooooo weak. Anyone experience this? Is this normal? How long will it last? I'm praying I feel better tomorrow, but would love some reassurance and any tips.
  21. I just went through a revision surgery to have my band removed and converted to the sleeve. I did not have much success with the band and found that most healthy foods I ate got stuck on the band. Ails never found the sweet spot (the perfect fill) and am unsure such a thing really exists. I am only 1 week post op, but I already feel that this will be a good solution for me. Good luck with your decision.
