Give me strength!
I'm 10 days away from my surgery and the thought of those shakes makes me way to throw up ( I have 2 a day ).

There are many, many healthy band babies born all the time. I heard a doctor on doctor radio say that his waiting room is full of pregnant woman (mainly because you can become very feritle after losing weight) and some of his lap band ladies are on their second or third baby. This is one of the main reasons I'm getting banded, so it's definitely safe!

I just got back from the doctor and while I had hoped for a Sept. date, it looks like I will be getting banded on October 4th!
I can't wait for some companions on here!

I hope it's normal, I'm getting a bit nervous about it as well. But I have to ask myself, what will I do if I don't get this surgery? Do I want to be obese for the rest of my life or do I want to start a new life in a healtheir body? If the day after your surgery you adopt the attitude of, failure isn't an option, and live by that, you won't fail!

We also put TTC on the back burner for my surgery. I have a son who is 2 1/2 years old and I would love for him to have a sibling. But it's much better for me and "future baby" to be at a lower bmi. I'm hoping to lose 100 lbs before TTC again. I undersand the desparate want for another baby and it doesn't seem to get any easier no matter how much I say it's better to wait.

Hi everyone! I'm looking at a first week of September surgery date. I have a few things left to do (see below), I hate the 6 month wait but it's been good to not havee to rush all these things. I also would probably be able to be done in August but my husband will be away for a conference and I need his help with my son.

I'm over 300 lbs and still ride my bike all the time. I would recommend going to a real bike shop (not like Walmart or target) and tell them what you're looking for. They will know the right height, seat, etc. for you. It may cost a bit more than chain store ones but if you go to them and get a bike that is uncomfortable, you won't ride it. So spend the money and get one that best fits you.

I will tell anyone in the world, except my in-laws. They have been VERY verbal about my weight and just like my weight being none of their business, neither is my WLS.

i am a newbie, but in the short amount of time I have spent researching bariatric surgery/message boards/etc, I have been AMAZED at all the DRAMA out there between sleeve, bypass, and band patients!!! I mean come on people, we all have the same GOAL... to lose weight and get healthy?! yeesh.

I've told my close friends and a few family members, I figure anyone who is a real friend will be supportive and understanding.
