I am 51 5 3" married, in 1985 had one child. I am on my journey of 6 months of Pre op clearance for insurance purposes. I will have the Gastric Lap band procedure in September 2012 Dr. Christina Li- Baltimore Maryland.
I had my first doctors appointment to find out if I could qualify for the lap band......I am 5 3" 210 pounds and fat @ 36 BMI but I have to go to my medical doctor and she needs to refer me for a sleep test. I only have high cholesterol and no other medical problems.
04/16/12 I have severe obstructive sleep apnea which approved me for my lap band. Approved for surgery around August 2012 as insurance requires 6mths of documentation to physicians office prior to lap band surgery. Many office visits, barium swallow, psych eval. I am going to the gym and eating less to prepare myself for the surgery date. I am trying not to drink/eat together.
05/30/12 I am really excited that I have joined "Fitness First" and I am at em 199 morning, bedtime wt 203 lbs BMI at 35.4. I am starting fitness classes at Fitness First with Zumba and body pump and hope to join a spin class soon. Hurry up September which is my lapband ssurrgery month. I exercise 4-5 days a week 30 min cardio combines now with group exercise 45 min. I also swim 9 pool laps.

Exercise class of "Body Pump" 60 min of class or Thursdays 1 hr Zumba
3 days of Elliptical 30 min Hight Impact interval training "in addition to above plan" (Monday-Saturday-Sunday)
Saturday- 9 laps/ 18 lengths 45 min of swimming in indoor pool
Sunday Spin class 60 min or 60 min kickboxing 9 laps in pool- 30 min elliptical swimming, 9 holes of golf
Morning wt of 200 lbs 6/1/12
6/09/12 Morning wt of 199 and a BMI of 34.5. 60 min of body pump 4 days a week, cardio 30 min 5 days a week and adding spin class next week. My hips are hurting. Plan to golf 9 holes on Sunday's. Getting more active and have alot more energy as I loose the weight! Pre-op cardiac evaluation for next month and mental health evaluation next.
6/17/12 I added some pictures of "before" my lapband procedure in September. As you can see my husband is very in shape and "lean" but he does eat all the time! My doctor gave me some fluid pills for my leg swelling and I am 196 this am and my BMI is 34.
I love really love the spin "stationary bike" class at "Fitness First gym" it's 60 mins of intense group exercise and so this will be added my new exercise for the month of July to do.
6/20/12 I do spin now with my fitness schedule x3 a week/1 hour sessions and bodypump 5 days a wk (1 hour) 990 mins of exercise 14.5 hours a week at the gym
6/27/12 I had my mental health evaluation completed and still have my cardiac clearance to do in July. Pre-op chest x-ray completed.
8/01/12 New workout schedule to incorporate 15/min mile jog treadmill doing 3 miles x4 weekly 4 miles and 5 days spinning. Friday night resting, weight training Sat and Sunday and spin class. BMI of 33.7 and wt is 195
8/24/12 pre op surgery consult with Doctor Li.
I HAVE A SURGERY DATE OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2012 noon time-will stay about 23 hours in the hospital. No preop liquid diet. My current weight as of today is 8/25/12 194.5 lbs with a BMI of 33.2 I am working out 6 days a week. 15/min mile=3/4 days a week on both treadmill and roadway jogging about 6 miles a workout. Spin class 4 days a week with 350 calories burned 45 min workout 17-23 miles. I am working with hand weights now.
10 days post op-I was back to work in 5 days. I still have a little bit of gas left in my stomach and my port is still sore. I am a little hungry. I had 4 cc fill on the table day of surgery. My post op appointment is October 5 2012. Check out my you tube channel. Rosetoyou1960c or Annette Corrado
I had a fill of 2cc on November 7 2012. I had restriction for about 2 weeks. Now the restriction is gone one month later and I am hungry again between meals. I go for another fill in December. I am still doing measurement portion control. I exercise now just 4 days a week for the month of December. I usually do my spin class 4 days and week and I am jogging a 14/ min mile. I try to do1- 2 miles early am before I go to work 30 mins on the treadmill. I have a sedentary job. I am a little bit fustrated that my pounds are going off more slowly that I anticipated with the lapband. This band is a TOOL and it's there for assistance to remind me that I am on a WL journey which will be for about a year to lose all my weight. I will keep up with all my efforts to loose this weight and you too!
I had another fill on December 21, 2012 of 2cc in my 11 cc realize lapband for a total of 8cc in my band to date. I am 185 lbs with a BMI of 32 as of date 12/26/12.
1/25/2013- I am 9.5 cc in my 11 cc band- I have had 4 fills and I have restriction with 1/2 to 1 cup of food. I am at 178 today with a BMI of 31
update today is 8/30/13 and I am 50 lbs down with a current weight of 163lbs and a BMI of 28. I have 8 cc (full restriction in 4 fills) in my 11 lapband and I am 11 months out of lapband on 9/20/12 and I have 25 more pounds to get to my goal weight. My weightloss has been slow but I am happy and will continue to work until my goal around 135-140 pounds. Please view my youtube channel at Annette Corrado which I update on a regular basis.
