  1. I wanted one that was auto shut off. They were pretty pricey. However, one day at the end of the season, I walked into WalMart and purchased 2 $10 and $15. They weren't ASO but worked great the same. Any place that sells them should have them on clearance soon.
  2. I'm still coughing from dry throat and my endo was last Monday. Easy as pie. My Dr. came in and talked to me and gave me pics from what he saw. I was given propofol. Came home and slept for 3 hours more. I was bordering a panic attack...the night before so that was make up lost sleeping time. Went to work the next day!
  3. I'm glad to know that it was nothing too serious and you are ok!
  4. You truly are blessed. So glad that the hospital staff was able to move quickly on your behalf. I will continue to pray for your healing.
  5. I so glad to hear things are looking better and that you're feeling better.
  6. Doesn't sound good. I don't want to speculate but I will pray. If yoou do not get a return call, call them back and then the next step would be the ER. Praying that all is well.
  7. Spatters3, I'm speechless...and had to laugh. Have you inquired if this will be a one time occurence for you?
  8. Hi, I would start with the insurance company, call to find out the requirements and if this is one of the stipulations. I would also call the Dr.'s office and ask for clarification. Also most insurance companies have the information on their website so you can search for yourself as well. I just hope he meant the psych eval. This isn't the direct answer you were looking for but I hope it helps. ~Lyn
  9. TraceyC, that is a great 'non excuse' for me to use. I do have a small hiatal hernia. That is all they will need to know until I decide to say.
  10. It is my plan to buy one this summer. I wanted one last year but didn't go through with it. A great way to get the workout in and enjoy the weather when it's nice.
  11. Encouraging! I share in the sentiment of others here, you look great! Thanks for sharing.
  12. This is encouraging. Much success to you!
  13. I can only imagine how happy you are. Congratulations to you! I will check out your vlogs too.
  14. I'm bumping this back up in the event Newbies have a question. There was a question posed for those of us...eh hem...in our 40's. I hope I can get one of these after surgery...https://www.vedettestore.com/eng/details.php?id=168
  15. So it would be a few days worth. I like left overs...is that a no-no here...but after a few days I'm like okay I'm done with that. I suppose freezing would be an option too. Thanks Chef Neil
  16. Thank you. The closest one to me is in Ilinois. I would just like to go in and look around. I look forward to trying new recipes pre and post op.
  17. HI, Since I am only cooking for me, how much will I have left over? Or would this not be the ideal way to cook for an individual?
  18. Shelly I'm in Merrillville. It's not around the corner but close... :smile1:
  19. I'm so glad this was posted. This is a hidden gem! The Pre-and Post-Oper's here can find something in this document! An excellent resource! Looking for my CD to reinstall my printer now!
  20. Kiki, I like you will more than likely have a date around August. My question to you is...where are you head wise? I don't like to wait much for anything, but with this I'm anxious but willing to go the 6 months to search inside and 'practice' this lifestyle change. I've seen a nutritionist before...so I'm certain I know how that will go. I am not liking the extra costs associated...but that is my insurance company! I'm not keen on going out of the country to have the surgery done BUT, I'm all for supporting others if that is their desire. I want my mom here when I have my surgery and I want to not use more than one week of vacation, outside of my sick time. So...planning for that as well. I hope you get the answers you seek.
  21. I'm glad to hear all is well now Amanda. I don't know if you still need items, but a website was given for Vitamins in the mtg on Tues. One of the attendees indicated low costs on the items needed. As I'm here really early on, I'm not sure exactly what is needed. Try it and see if it will help you or anyone for that matter. www.allstarhealth.com
  22. I asked about Juicing in Support group on Tuesday. The response I received was a big fat negative. So much for my Jack Lalane sitting on the counter. However, I plan to ask againg. I used to juice my fruits mostly in the morning and my veggies in the evening. The really were not that bad. Word of warning....do not juice an entire beet! Delicious but ummmm....
  23. I was given a binder with the required meds needed after surgery. It was also stressed at the Support Grp meeting that these would be needed without question when I am home after the surgery. I have just gone on the website to check the cost of the Lovenox. A huge difference between mail order, generic and brand. I'm glad that this was brought up because this would not have been a question I would have asked being that it is on the 'required' list! BTW, I have had a plate and 12 screws place for my ankle when it was broken and was placed on Plavix. Why can't that be an option as well. Just saying... Thanks for bringing up the question. That is why I love this site. It's important to be informed. I know I'm already nervous about this life changing decision. I don't want to have to deal with the little things the closer I am to getting it done.
  24. Chef Neil, the jambalaya recipe sounds divine. I must purchase a tangine as well. Glad to be introduced to it. I will be tagging this post looking for more recipes.
  25. So with the NG tube did you have any gas pains? Because that could be the trade off...maybe???
