  1. As my June 20th surgery date approaches, I find myself wondering how many people view their surgery as unsuccessful. How many people regret the decision? How many people would have done it differently if they had to do it again? If you have a story like that to share, will you please? Thanks in advance. Melissa
  2. I didn't find it bad at all. I treated it like a mini vacation. Brought all my favorite stuff to the sleep center. It was great. You may not want to go by me though... I have three small children and could use a break.
  3. I never even thought about this! Why might this be necessary and/or important?
  4. Can you post it here too?
  5. Sounds kind of like what I experienced while I was on Atkins....
  6. I have not had the surgery yet ( 6/20), but my percentages would be: 60% health, knees, hips, heart 30% confidence issues 10% Hopefulness
  7. I am due for VSG surgery on June 20. Last night I believe I had a gallbladder attack. If I can hold off until June 20, do you think they could do the gallbladder at the same time that they do VSG?
  8. That's horrible! What's the next step? Did they say?
  9. Couldn't you have a deviled egg?
  10. It is much easier to view before and after pics in a thread than it is in the gallery. Maybe there should be a forum just devoted to before and after pics? Just an idea... The pics are one of the things that motivate me the most and they are difficult to access them on here...
  11. Is Fitbit an iPhone app? There is a free download in the iTunes store...
  12. I LOVE this idea, and I am going to start it TONIGHT!
  13. I'm sorry for your loss.... so so sorry.
  14. My husband and I are getting VSG at nearly the same time. He is getting his on June 4th, and I am getting mine on June 20th. We have 3 children who are 7, 6, and 4. Can you think of pros and cons of this? Anyone else get their sleeve at the same time to a spouse, relative, or friend? What was your experience? Thanks in advance!
  15. I am really really surprised that no one has a good answer for us. I am a mother of three. When will I be able to lift my kids? Anyone?
  16. I don't understand this. Can you explain?
  17. This is what I believed MUST be true! For me, the sleeve (I am scheduled for June 20th) will be a tool to change my relationship with food, not so much to limit my food CHOICES.
  18. I'm surprised there aren't more responses here. I'm sure there are others with active jobs. I'll just wait....
  19. I am anxiously awaiting responses to this! My husband is all police officer and needs to defend his own life sometimes. He has surgery June 4. When can he go back to work safely?
  20. It could be a play. Try writing a short one-act.
  21. There HAVE to be people here who are unhappy that they got this surgery. If you were to persuade me NOT to get the sleeve, what arguments would you use?
  22. How, and why did you decide to get surgery? My husband was receiving physical therapy for a back injury that he got. The doctor there said on his last appointment, "You know you need to lose weight, right? I have a great bariatric surgeon that I could recommend." Now my husband and I have always struggled with weight. I said I would go with him to the first consultation. I was assuming that he would get a lap band. We both decided to get the sleeve that night. His surgery date is scheduled for June 4, and mine is scheduled for June 20. How did you come to your decision?
