  1. Please explain a resleeve...
  2. Ok... my surgery date is June 20th. I know some people will tell me and warn me.... but I'm eating a bit like every meal is the last supper. What was you experience pre-surgery with eating?
  3. So.... they take out 85% or so of your stomach.... It should be ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE not to lose weight, right? (Although I realize that the goal here is to change your lifestyle) Why would you limit your food intake in addition to what the sleeve is doing already for you? I can imagine that as you get close to goal, you MAY need to restrict, but why would you do this initially after following your doctors' post-op diet? (Some other active threads got me to thinking about this.) I would think that the weight may come off more slowly if you eat as a "normal person" would, but still, I would think most WILL eventually come off. (If I am eating a half of a slice of pizza, as opposed to 4 slices that I can pack away now, I would lose weight.) I welcome your thoughts and experience on this. (My surgery date is 6/20/12.)
  4. Totally interesting... Anyone else find themselves doing this?
  5. You know, my son had a surgery when he was a baby... and when he was about 7 weeks out, we brought him back with what we feared was an infection. Turns out, it was just hairs growing out of follicles that had been displaced at the incision site. Looked infection-like, but that's what it was...
  6. Maybe just trying to cover their own @$$3$ in case later on it is proven to be detrimental to sleeve patients also...
  7. I am worried at ONLY having Tylenol available for pain in my (hopefully) 70s, 80s, 90s...
  8. Hey all~ Are there any medications that I will be UNABLE to take after this surgery? Ibuprofen? Asprin? Thanks!
  9. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results."
  10. What a beautiful and touching post. Thank you. I am going to refer back to this often to remind myself of the importance of this surgery, and to strengthen my resolve.
  11. After quickly losing a lot of your weight, how long did it take for your head to catch up with your body? How long until you realized... Hey! I'm not a fat person anymore!
  12. Does bougie size really matter? My surgeon says he uses a 36, but many people on here seem to have a 32. Does it matter? Please advise.
  13. Not for me. Parenthood has affected my life in profound ways.
  14. I would NOT wait to get pregnant. If you have any sort of challenges in conceiving at all, you could really regret it.
  15. Sounds like a urinary tract infection?
  16. I love the blog! Went back and read all of the old ones! Love.... Please continue many years.....
  17. I've never heard of a laser comb. What is it?
  18. I have not had surgery, and I must admit that I really never get that "full" feeling now. I could always eat more. I am afraid that this will persist even after surgery. What are your thoughts?
  19. Funny that you say that, I agree! My husband and I are doing this somewhat together (two month's difference in surgery dates). My husband went in for all of his appointments, flew through, no questions. (He's a police officer too.) I had been reading this site for about two weeks prior to my round of appointments. I had a page and a half of questions. My husband came to my appointments with me. He couldn't believe all of the information and questions I had. It IS such a helpful resource! Thanks all!
  20. Lol.... What will you say when you start dropping pounds like crazy??
