  1. i hope your shift went o.k... it must be an awful feeling to have to put up with that.. what about ordinary panadol that you can dissolve?/ Ive been taking that and the dr is o.k. with it.
  2. my port is situated under my left ribs about three inches as well.
  3. ...i would love to know what you are doing as well. YOur weight loss is great as well... are you working out much??
  4. .. i feel for you, i have the same thing coming up with me im thinking. lol. sorry... i dont have any ideas yet. if i come up with any i will let you know. When you say you are trying to stay positive, but its changing your mood and attitude.. do you mean that you regret taking this step of banding?
  5. hi there.. just a thought. im going to take barley green. its in powder form, its organic, and its better value than taking vitamins. its a lot like spirillina to taste. ive had it before and i know its really good. Bets of luck with your liquid diet and surgery.
  6. Marci... this is something that i neglected to talk with my dr about... i take one olmetec a day... for hyper tension. im concerned that i wont be able to swallow it. im going to have to crush it up i think and add it to some milk or yoghurt. im really concerned about the meds getting stuck as well. i dont know yet how well they will crush up... or how it will taste even. and, of course, im hoping that eventually as the weight comes off i can throw the tablets away.
  7. im a size 18 as well... thats ausstralian sizes though, im not sure if we are the same ive got about 90 lbs to lose.
  8. you have done better in the past than i have with dieting, thats for sure. you are still only young, i think youve done the right thing. wow, if thats just about the first waking thought that you were/are having, its definately the right thing that you have done. when did you have your surgery??
  9. im an Aussie... in Tasmania, and been here for a few weeks now. i agree. Being able to ''savour'' the taste of each mouthful will more than make up for the quantity that we had before. Im an emotional eater as well. portions are my weakness, not sweets.
  10. thats wonderful news. fancy a student being so aware and coming up to you to congratulate you. wow.. that young man will go far im thinking. it must have really made your day
  11. how wonderful.. what a great job so far. im looking foward to trying on some of the lovely clothes ive got in my wardrobe still... i never got rid of them.
  12. i live in country Australia. i didnt have any success at all so ive bought some from overseas. by the time i need it im hoping it will be here.
  13. ..how wonderful. you have done a magnificent job.
  14. sark87.. how has this last year been for you?? have you had successful weight loss?
  15. yep. im the same. my youngest daughter is insisting that she come in the morning after im done. ive told her no, but she says just for a short time. I dont want her anywhere around where she may pick up on something that i just want to keep private.. you know?/ im afraid im going to have to really be firm with her. my family wouldnt handle it at all. In fact they have no idea really how hard its been trying to manage the way i am. im not even going to try and explain either , been there before with issues and done that.
  16. ..this is beautiful. im so pleased that its worked out, family are going to be supportive now they know, and you wont have to go into those family dinners anxious about anything. way to go.
  17. ..and this is the combination that i want/need. if its too complicated im headed for disaster. i just want to be able to have the right amount of food without weight stall or gain. Exercise?? im hoping that later on i can do some significant exercise but at the moment im not very dependant on it. i have to have some improvement in joint/feet function first. im so glad that i have a nutritionalist on board now. i see her on the 4th April. I will have to take into consideration that im taking barley green. Incidentally, barley green is more potent as a safe guard against losing hair and nails.
  18. i reckon i will feel somewhat bloated as well after surgery. i always feel a bit that way after ive had surgeries. i tried to buy milk of magnesium today and would you believe i couldnt find it?? grrr.... i went into a chemist warehouse and they didnt have it?? im wondering now if i have to buy it online?/ no wonder businesses are going down the tube. anyway, i will try again to buy it tomorrow.
  19. and thats me as well... no mushies until day 15. it seems like forever to be on just liquids.
  20. i know that its getting close for you now... all the best. look forward to hearing from you on the banded side. take care. all the best of luck to you for your banding.
  21. i hear you about arthritis. im not good with it either.. but im managing with osteo panadol. now im just not sure about these tabs after surgery. they are rather large, in the shape of a capsule and i reckon they would worry me. im goign to have to ask the dr about them.my main attack after lapbanding is the barley green. i know how good it is for easing inflammation in the joints. im hoping that i can get my body back to a more alkiline state than it has been. i now its been so acidic all these years. it needs a good cleanout. ive had barley green before, many years ago. it helped me enormously then. made my skin good and even made my hair shiny. ive bought a kilo of it and have a teaspoon every day. maybe two if i can get it down. Having to be on meds does make it harder. im glad that your meds dont make it hard for you.
  22. ..and the best of luck to you as well.. my surgery is on thursday at 3pm
  23. Jess, where are you travelling to to get the surgery done?? and you are leaving your daughter as well?? no wonder you are feeling the way you are. Where are you travelling to?
  24. you have done a magnificent job losing that amount, it must make you feel really good about what you can achieve.. and theres more to come i think. Your little girl is gorgeous. is this her in your pic that youve put on here?? she is a darling. so she is about 4 years old now?? is she the daughter you had by caesarian?/ i had to have a caesarian with my youngest daughter as well. she is now 38. how time flies. it sounds like you are well prepared now. not much else you can do, just enjoy the sunshine with your daughter. the day will go quickly enough. Yes, im going to have to have a little talk with my hubbie if he gets more critical . i need him to be supportive not negative. in the beginning he was supportive to the hilt but i think he realizes now that its no ''walk in the park'' and he is cross that i allowed myself to get this big anyway. No understanding of the emotional baggage behind it at all. i wouldnt even try to explain it to him. but, if he isnt supportive i will let him know in no uncertain terms. I live in Australia. the southern most state which is an island.(tasmania) we are on the eastern seaboard, facing out over the ocean. its a beautiful spot. there are some wonderful walks here for me to do as well. As soon as im well enough to start walking again i will be doing just that. im starting on my barley green now as well, so hopefully my whole system will be cleaned out and my joints will respond well. i have arthritis badly in both knees, feet, hips etc. thats why im having the surgery. i need to lose about 90 pounds. its not a lot with the band but impossible for me without the band. Anyway, id better close. all the best for you on monday.. i will be thinking of you. judych
  25. oh yes,ive heard of this one. in fact the cure for it was found in Australia i believe. its helibactor pylorie..?? is that right?? and we all have a certain amount of it but some people have thousands more than normal. i think thats the way it goes. so you had it?/ and they gave you antibiotics for it?/ how long is the treatment for?..
