  1. ive just today been able to burp again... im four days post op. gas pain has been an issue with me as well. it comes and goes. i havent taken meds today for it though.
  2. well, im in australia... my pre op diet was zilch. it was normal eating for me. no restrictions at all. The first 18 hours after surgery i just had ice and Water. then when i got home i introduced some coffee, some other clear fluids like chicken broth, bonox, etc. ive also had some low fat milk with greek yoghurt. very watery but nice. put in blender. ive had some Protein powder but not a lot yet. ive had one meal of baby food, watered right down. that tasted really good. just one meal of that so far. after the first week i can have eggnogs, pureed foods ,smoothies.all has to be low on roughage or fibre.
  3. hi there ktlynn447... nice to see you on here. i was banded on the 22nd as well, but im in australia so i was ahead of you. so you are having some pain still?im not aware that my incisions were all that painful. the port area was very sore and it till pulls when i try to twist or move suddenly. thats because there is muscle involved with the site where the port is. Im definately still having problems with gas pain. in the first days i found it hard to lay down. now the pain has moved to my neck and collarbone and im better lying down.. lol. go figure. its definately moved though. today i havent been as well. ive spent all arvo lying down and sleeping. i got relief as well. i havent had apple juice, or tomato juice yet. ive had chicken broth, protein shakes, bonox in hot water, all at about 22mls. So you were outpatient, not a day patient?? how long were you in hospital for?/ i had overnight. i needed it because of nausea and vomiting risk. It thats all you can manage in the way of liquids i think its o.k.... what do the rest think?/ my dr hasnt pushed with protein.. ive bought the powder and used it on my own initiative.
  4. and i can use it as well. i wouldnt like to be going down this road on my own.
  5. this is a great idea... thanks for sharing it. i love creamy soups i guess over easter i will be having them.
  6. ...im the same, im getting hungry as well. Im having baby food with some extra steamed potato blended in... and milk to make it sloppy enough for a straw... that does ease the problem a bit. its not a nice feeling to be hungry all the time. Is this the ''lapband hell'' that has been mentioned here?? ...more on this one. i always understood that our stomaches would shrink after a while. i wonder... how long does it take and how much does it shrink??
  7. thats rough that you have the extra weight on right now.. .there has to be a good reason for it though. im sure it will go as quickly as it came. my incisions are a bit itchy as well. i think i have a bit of a reaction to the dressings... i think i read somewhere that they start to fall off around day 4? is that right.? ive lost the dressing from the top incision and had to put a bandaid on that two days ago. im trying to shower without getting that area wet, its not easy.
  8. im having the same sensations and im only 4 days out. its more in my chest... im not very often a satisfied full. Hardly ever actually. im aware all the time that i havent chewed on anything substantial in a while.
  9. this is a wonderful effort. how long have you been banded now??
  10. yes, thanks.. lol.. im amazed, and im stoked. lol. so is my husband. im feeling better in the feet already. its amazing what a difference those few pounds make . i knew there would be improvement but didnt think it would be so soon. ive got about 90 lbs to lose all up. that will take me back to my teens weight. not sure whether i will got that far, we shall see how i respond. its exciting, to be sure.
  11. its snot an easy time after being banded, thats for sure. it certainly does test our will power. lol. this morning i had barley green and one scoop of protein drink in 200 mls of water.. it wasnt bad. im thinking that maybe this will be my breakfast, if i can manage to drink it every morning.
  12. ive lost 12 and im only 3 days out. i hadnt weighed myself when i first came home. i only know what my weight was before i went in. im just amazed, i really am. im hydrated.. drinking a lot. im so pleased to see such quick results though.
  13. Tammy.. i will remember to do that. like you, i want to/need to succeed in the biggest way ever with this lapband. if i dont i could end up having major heart issues, and being in a wheelchair. not much of a future. im three days post banded now, doing o.k. i do feel that im missing something solid to chew on and digest, but if i choose to ignore that, i know im satisfied. im experimenting a lot. ive lost a lot of weight in just these past three days. amazing. if you have tried something and its good, its tasty and its doable, post it, wont you... we need as much input for new ideas as possible.
  14. this is good advice.. thanks .
  15. can you eat them hard boiled??i like them as well. i would like to be able to still eat them.
  16. first day post op. clear fluids only. 2nd day, nutritional fluids as well as clear fluids. this continues for a month from the day of the surgery.im having protein shakes etc now and its three days out from surgery.
  17. im day three and ive just been out the back doing a bit of cleaning, light stuff. got the washing machine on, hanging clothes on an airer. i feel good apart from some gas. im amazed that my feet arent sore... usually i can hardly walk on them. there doesnt appear to be any inflammation going on in them right now. if this is what ive got to look forward to its well worth the journey.
  18. im the same. i got so worked up over it, and so far its been far better than Id expected.
  19. way to go... did you get your shopping done?/ im day three and feel good apart from some gas pain in my shoulder. the rest of me feels really good though.i cant get over the fact ive lost 12lbs. since thursday.
  20. it sounds really good. i might try this one. thanks.
  21. thats really rough on you. im so sorry this has happened.
  22. thats pretty good going for a week... wow. i dont know whether thats normal or not... but i would be pleased to have that. lol. you are feeling o.k. though? thats the main thing.
  23. well, im in the green and im only two days out from surgery. i dont have any problems at all with my liquid. its early days though i know that. i dont think i will get a fill next friday either. time...
  24. thats going to be awful if you have to have the band removed. not bad going with the weight loss for that tie though... way to go. i hope you dont have to have it removed. i didnt have any fill when the band was inserted and probably wont have any fill at the end of next week either. thats my first visit with the dr.
