  1. aww.. that sounds like a really special meal. i bet you wont forget it for a long time. i must find a plate that small for myself. one that is pretty. ive written down in my book what you did for your meal. it will come in handy for me as well... thanks
  2. thats rough... are you on a desk job?? how are you coping with just fluids at work?
  3. boy.. i know exactly how you feel. im up and down like a yoyo. some times im feeling really guilty because ive allowed myself to get to this... has anyone else suffered from that?? its not good for self esteem. im hoping that feeling will go away completely. i dont need lack of self esteem to get in the way of it all. its quite destructive actually.
  4. of course... i should have known what it stands for. .thanks. i have a friend who suffers with it, and ive seen how it has impacted her whole life. its awful. Yes, and i remember the diabeties being a real worry as well. its amazing how many people suffer from it.
  5. can i ask?? what is PCOS ? i know im showing my ignorance here.. lol.
  6. to be honest i am curious to know that as well. good point.
  7. dont beat yourself up over it. im sure one time wont make the difference between you having surgery and not having it.
  8. im sure you will do well. its a big decision and you have thought it all through.. all the best for your big day.
  9. i read here somewhere that if we chew gum and accidently swallowed it we would be in difficulty.. it would get stuck.
  10. ive been wondering this as well.. but in t he meantime ive bought some barley green. a powder mixed with water.. not too bad to drink. i dont know if i can use this after lapping though. i suppose it depends on the amount one can drink at a time. i know that its completely organic.
  11. its mainly protein with very little carbs.. not easy but its do-able.
  12. can you tell me what the protein drink with the appetite suppressor is please or do you have a site for it?? ive not heard of it.
  13. yes, i remember reading about the length of time but ive forgotten it now. i reckon you are right . my BMI will have everything to do with it. i rang the insurance company this afternoon and they couldnt tell me anything until i see the dr. i need the item number for a start. its a nuicance because i go in there not having any details like this at all. i would much prefer to be better informed about sleeve. once i get in there im still nervous and i dont always pick up on everything thats said. this is the main issue with me. Anyway, i have to start writing some things down this evening.
  14. thanks.. its nice to know that you are eating pretty much what i would still like to have on my plate as well. i dont eat much read meat... i do like stews in the crock pot , or slow cooker. especially with winter coming on here. i love soups so thats no bother. do you have any liquid either just before, with or just after your meals?
  15. great idea.

  17. how wonderful that you are losing so well..are you doing anything special for your birthday?? and happy birthday as well.
  18. ive read the odd quote where crackers can be eaten. i guess the only way you will know how well you tolerate it is to try it for yourself. i will be trying various things out for myself when im done. we are all different.

this is really interesting. i love spicy foods and have often used cayenne pepper... even putting the powder into clear gelatin capsules in the wintertime. I need to ask you... when you had your lapbanding done, did you have a hiatal hernia? or any problem with reflux?? i dont want to have to give up my spicy food... i dont have a sweet tooth but love my spices. now are you finding the cayenne?? does it bother you?
  20. Is this what happens to steak and chicken?? it swells when you swallow it?? i dont know much about it at all. i was wondering though... what if these meats were cooked slowly in a slow cooker and the fibre broken down well?? would that make a difference?? idont want to think that i have to give up beef or chicken.
  21. Helen, im so sorry that you are feeling so miserable, and you are right, you should be feeling a lot better than you are. How soon are you goign to try and have the gall bladder removed?? perhaps that will help you . i certainly hope so. ARe you taking plenty of Vitamins.?? im new at this myself and dont have advice that would be useful for you. But, i do feel for you very much. ive had about 20 surgeries the last fifty years ... thats on average one every two years there abouts. They have all been big surgeries. Im 65, looking down the tunnel of more joint replacement surgeries, and even that wont make me healthy. my husband is 73 and has twice the energy that i have. To a certain thing i understand where you are coming from, especially with having so many anaesthesias. its a real worry. i wish there was some way i could encourage you more. perhaps this gall bladder surgery is going to make a big difference.. i certainly hope so. Can i ask you though?? have you thought about the fact that you could be suffering from adrenal exhaustion and perhaps hypothoidism?? its a very real possibility that you are. your body has been under a lot of stress... the adrenal glands suffer a lot through all this. Because the adrenals work so closely with the thyroid there may be an issue here with them. you can buy selenium from your health store, plus dessicated thyroid... called Thyromine. i definately think its worth a try. you have absolutely nothing to lose at this point. i use it and its helped me no end.
  22. this is one reason why im preferring a gastric sleeve at this point. i cant give you any advice, im not post op yet... im sure others here will have some advice for you though. i hope that you are o.k. about it all real soon and start weight loss. it must be awful to go through the surgery and come against this. im sorry this has happened to you.
  23. this is just so encouraging. one of the biggest issues that we face after banding is what is our diet going to be like?? im so pleased that you are doing so well... and after a fill. good on you. i hope that i do half as well. i will be really happy. ...and congratulations on the weight loss. i just love to read about these posts. my appointment with my specialist is day after tomorrow.
  24. thats good news. i was wondering how things would turn out, i know that those who have lapbanding are more prone to having problems. i didnt want to think that i would have more issues than what ive got now with what i think is a hiatial hernia. by the way... i always thought it was hiatus hernia... is there a difference??
