  1. Hello everyone, please disregard if this message offends anyone in that it isn't the intent. Has anyone had and/or thought about a colon cleanse before their surgery? I am scheduled for one but forgot to ask my surgeon if it is okay. Please provide feedback.

    Look at you showing out!
  3. My surgery is on Monday and I am on a PreOp Diet that is low fat, low calories and a minimum of 60 grams of protein a day. It has been hard in that I cheated yesterday but I have been doing okay. There are several individuals who don't do it but please talk with your doctor to see what they require.
  4. Oh but I had fries and a chicken sandwich. Lord I'm doing bad and don't want fat on my liver Monday. Please help
  5. Just finished my preop appointment and was completely happy with the amount of information provided and can rest assure now that everything is going to be okay. From the nurse, dietician and my McHottie of a doctor, I am going to be just fine. So since last Monday, I have officially lost 9 pounds and was able to have a piece of bread today with a penny size of honey almond cream cheese and will have a piece of meat tonight. By no means am I going to revert back to what got me here. McHottie informed me that the anesthesiologist will give me a call on Sunday night just to make sure everything is okay and I have to be there early at 6am Monday morning. I discussed with him the presence of my 8 year old son at the hospital and he made a note to pay special attention to him and my husband to make sure he knows that mommy is okay. Yes, I am five days out from the start of a new life with my family thank you Jesus!!!
  6. Good morning. So I have thought about what would be a great milestone to complete after having my band and I have determined that I am going to do the 3.5 miles March for Babies on April 21, 2012 in Texas. In 2009, I was able to do the 60 miles Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer walk in honor of my mother in law and it took a toll on my body. It had always been my goal to walk in support of foundations and causes which promote the health of people and development of research cures. So on April 21st, I am going to do it. Even with it being two weeks after surgery, I think I can do it. If you want to show me support you can by viewing my website at: www.marchforbabies.org/srdiggs I am so excited to do this task and I will walk in support of each and everyone of my Band Family.
  7. Congratulations! You are doing well. My surgery is Monday so I am taking as much information in as possible.
  8. Everyone is different and my surgeon requires a week for your body to heal. I am actually taking two weeks off just to make sure I am adjusted well with the food and my body is in order. My job as an engineer have me going alot even thought I sit at the desk all day I just want to make sure things are okay. My supervisor completely understood. There was one guy here who stayed out for a week.
  9. Excuse me but did you say you have to take everything off? Oh that's not going to work for me. I don't wont people see all my business.
  10. Good morning. So my surgery is Monday morning at 7:30am and with God's help everything will be fine and I will go home on Tuesday per my insurance. For those who sing in the church choir, would I be able to sing that following Sunday which is Easter Sunday? I really don't want to miss church. Please help.

Thank you very much but last night I slipped and had 6 small turkey meatballs. This preop diet is hard being a meat eater but I will do it. This morning i had my spinach and egg white omelette with 20 ounces of water and green tea. I have only dropped 9.8 pounds but i want to drop 5 more and be at least 250 for surgery. We will see what my surgeon say on tomorrow.
  12. I am on day 9 and have lost 9.8 pounds. It is hard in that today will mark my last day of food. Tomorrow at my preop appointment I am going to talk with my surgeon to see if i can just do three protein shakes a day to ensure my liver is small and get ready for the post op diet..
  13. You are in my prayers and I pray everything is okay.
  14. LOL..you sound just like me. But I have to attest that the Unjury protein shakes are really good and i love the chocolate one. There is also the Chicken soup that is good as well. Try the unjury starter kit that way you can try them all and pick from their.

Well here it is one week from the day my life will change forever and a new healthy approach. This has indeed been a journey and learning about what is ahead makes it so much better. I am so grateful to God for allowing me to have a new life and just enjoy fullness. Thank you for everyone who is reading this for you have been a motivational tool like no other.
  16. So this weekend, hubby and I decided we would do our date night like we have done every single month. However, I completely forgot that I should have done it before the PreOp Diet. But went to see Hunger Games which was an awesome movie and I had nachos and cheese...OMG! It was so good but half way through the taste of the salt made me stop. At first I felt really bad but my husband was very proud of me because he stated he noticed my reaction to the food and he knew I wasn't going to finish it all. In the end, I didn't feel bad because I had one slip but it was the thought that I might have messed up the previous 6 days preparing for the surgery over some nachos and cheese. In the end, I got on the scale this morning and I am down about 2 pounds since Friday. Therefore since I started the PreOp Diet last Monday, I have dropped 8 pounds. Did anyone else cheat over the weekend?
  17. You can do it. Last night I had a meltdown and went off on everyone in the house. My eight year old was so mad and said he wanted his old mom back. Trust me it is hard but push through it.
  18. Thanks everyone. I am doing better today and have already had 2 protein shakes (42 grams of protein) and will be having Souper Salad for lunch. Of course, the goal is to plan my soup selection before going because several of their soups are high in fat and carbs. This weekend will truly be a hard test for me.
  19. Good morning everyone. Well I am on Day 5 of the PreOp Diet and I must say things are MUCH better. The first three days were really hard and I had the worst headache. At one point, I was even thinking about cancelling the whole thing and just give up; however something inside of me made me go on. So I have been drinking the Unjury and Celebrate Protein Shakes which are extremely good. Has anyone tried to put fresh fruit in the chocolate or the vanilla? I want to know what other varities are you all using. In addition, I have a huge container of Whey Protein Powder that I use as a dipping sauce for my sugar free popsicles...yes I am getting creative.
  20. For the last four days I have been really trying to focus on what I am consuming to ensure my liver has shrunk. This is hard because I feel like the only thing I eat are vegetables and fruit with creme of wheat and oatmeal. What confuses me is yes I have dropped 6 pounds since Monday but will my liver really be small enough? I can still eat cabbage and greens but I don't know if they are good for me. What I am really considering is after my preop appointment on next Wednesday to just start on the clear liquids for Thursday through Sunday. This would give me at least four good days to try to get my liver smaller. Another bad thing that I am noticing since I have sick with sinus and allergies is that I'm not getting that 64 plus ounces of water a day. As you can see I am in a panic mood right now. Please help me PLEASE!!!
  21. you are truly my motivation girl....I'm so proud of you. Maybe I will get there in about 5 weeks.
  22. This helps me so much because I am so afraid of surgery. My surgery is April 2nd and I'm doing the preop diet now. My mind always wonders about what if something happens during surgery and their are complications. If I can get this fear out of my head and know that everything will be okay, I think I can do this. This is indeed a journey and an emotional one at that.
  23. Well it is Day 3 and i must say this morning I had the worst Headache. On yesterday my meals included a Yoplait Greek Yogurt smoothie, soup and cabbage which were good. On today: Breakfast: 2 egg whites omelette with spinach and salsa (10 grams of protein) Snack: Muscle Milk vanilla Creme Protein Shake (25 grams of protein) Lunch: salad with fat free french, oranges and vegan soup Snack: Yoplait Greek Yogurt Smoothie whey Protein (30 grams of protein) Have no idea about dinner but it will probably be vegetables. I am only to have three meals a day with two Protein Shakes in between. However, starting next Wednesday after my preop appointment, I think I am going to move to clear liquid for the remainder just to make sure. However, I got on the scale today and already down 4 pounds!! We can and WILL do this!!!
