  1. Well I haven't been here for a while since so much has been going on. It is now 15 weeks and as of today I have reached my 2nd milestone and down officially 50 pounds! I feel absolutely great by my thighs are hurting from the weigh lifting. If I know what I know now, I would have done this years ago. The great part is that my husband got band on Tuesday and doing well. I encourage everyone to never give him and keep going. It might get hard but you can do it!
  2. Wow it took my three fills and i am at 4.6ccs in my 10cc band with ALOT of restrictions. For my appointment on the 7th of August, I might ask for only .5cc but I can't keep anything down since my fill last Tuesday.
  3. Thank you very much because this is giving me the blues. Everytime I eat more then i can feel the watering of my mouth and nothing stays down. Guess i can't eat a cup of food anymore but now have to concentrate on a half of cup and deal with it. My husband did tell me that I chew extremely fast so I guess I better learn from him. This is so hard but I will get it and probably won't get anymore fills.
  4. On Tuesday, I went for my third fill and now have 4.6ccs in a 10cc band. For whatever reason, i am thinking that i can eat more and everything is coming up. When i eat slow and take my time then everything goes down. is it that i have to get use to my much smaller stomach or is this thing too dang tight? My doctor stated on Tuesday that I was wide open and i needed a fill. Well now on a small portion can go down. Please help me.
  5. Good luck and I'm praying for you!
  6. Wow that is a new one on me. I drink over 100 ounces of water a day and never worry about 3 ounces per hour. Is there a reason why you were told this?
  7. Good morning everyone. There is something that I just need to know to make sure I can stop stressing. Does anyone or has anyone heard of band slippage due to rought intimacy? I know everyone is different, but I don't want to mess around and have anything hit or the band slip. Please let me know.
  8. My surgeon stated that my healthy BMI would be 117 which he doesn't want me at because of my height and body type. The goal he established was at 60% of the excess weight to be gone which was 80 pounds; so it was 175. I had my surgery on April 2nd and started at 260 well this morning i got on the scale and I am at 222. Yes, there is a big difference because I work out every single day for two hours and want to drop the most of my weight the first year and maintain from there. Talk to your doctor and let him/her know your concern and they will be more than happy to help.
  9. Spinning is a huge success to my weight loss. Upon starting the class about three weeks, I discuss with my instructor my goal and the procedure so I could maximize my time. She has shown me how the position both the handle and seat to fit my body for comfort. I take spin class at least three times a week and burn roughly 1000 calories each time. If you take into account 3000 calories from spin a week that is great. Just make sure you use the resistance and get out of the saddle, this is were you burn calories. If you are stationary and doing the same thing for an hour then calories burned will be extremely low.
  10. Thank you all so much. My directions were clear liquids one day, mushies day 2 and regular food day 3. With what I am feeling, I am going to stick with just liquids today and work back up. I think with this fill I have to realize that I can't eat as much as I did before. This is teaching me a real lesson. The cottage cheese went down and I think if it still feel funny on Saturday I am calling him.
  11. Hello everyone. I had my second fill on Tuesday and now I have 3.5 ccs in a 10cc band. Everything was going down fine until i ate two pieces of chinese food on last night. Sorry to be nasty but I had to go into the bathroom and throw it up because my band was hurting. However, there was a little blood that came up which made me think something got scratch during the process. I was able to drink water a hour later and everything was okay. This morning I am eating cottage cheese and peaches and have a small burn when it goes down. I am thinking I didn't give my stomach time to heal from the fill and hoping it will go away. If anyone experience this before please let me know. I am seriously thinking about calling my surgeon.
  12. Hello Springers! It has been a while but just wanted to peak in and say hello. Things are going well. I'm official two months as a bandster and down 30 pounds and loving the new me for the mos tpart. My band is 10cc and I only have 2.5cc right now and can eat anything. I know this doesn't happen overnight but I want to drop anothr 20 before July 6th which I think is alittle bit to much. So right now, I am just controlling my eating and working out everyday. Hope to hear from you all soon!!
  13. Wow that is alot. I am eight weeks post op and got my first fill two weeks ago which was only 2.5cc in a 10cc band. My next fill isn't for another two weeks. Why so much for your first fill?
  14. That happens. I gained a pound when i started solid foods don't worry but make sure you are healing now.
  15. Well, here I am seven weeks post op and down 32 pounds. This has been a great journey for me until yesterday. My daily routine is working out at least one hour five days a week and taking the weekend off; well after yesterday I might be off a little longer. These thighs of mine are burning like fiyah and I think it is just my muscles but I will just wait. One thing I noticed on yesterday is that my arms and under my buttocks that flab is hanging and I HATE IT! For six weeks of not lifting weights is truly showing now. So I have to find me a personal trainer quick. Secondly on last night after I had, it felt like I couldn't breath and my band was moving. I have been doing alot of jumping and running and hoping nothing is out of place. There is like this sharp pinching in my throat and maybe I am just overing doing it. So as you can see right now i am so worried until I don't know what to do. Any help would be great.
  16. LOL your husband sounds just like mine and he was afraid as heck. I was band on April 2nd and for us waited a month because i was afraid, but like Aspiring stated think of creative ways and have fun!
  17. Unfortunately, I can't give much advise in that I just got my first fill on last Tuesday. Since the surgery I had dropped 19 pounds with a total of 32 which I think is good. We are in the same boat but I consume about 1000 calories but go to the gym and burn them all off so I am even across the board. My band is 10cc and I have 2.5cc in me now. On my next appointment which is in three weeks, I think they are going to put another 2.5cc's in my band. This is a learning process but if I continue to do well, then after my second fill I won't get another one until the new year. But talk with your doctor and see what they recommend.
  18. Yes your stomach will sound like a fight is going on and that could be gas. Trust me the same thing was going on with me. However, I was on Clear liquids for three weeks at 2 ounces every 30 minutes which I couldn't do. My main focus was to get in at least 50 to 60 grams of Protein a day. When I started on full liquids, I could only have it after I got in my protein which increased to 80 grams a day. Some days I only had a 1/4 cup of cream of chicken because I was concern about my protein and Water. If you have concerns, you can always call your surgeon's office and they can provide you with assistance.
  19. Have you tried the Unjury Protein Shakes? They are really good.
  20. Be very careful with what you are eating. The one thing you want to do is make sure you are sipping and drinking water. It could also be gas pains which means you need to walk, walk, walk as much as possible. Remember your body is trying to adjust to what you have just experience. Your band doesn't tell you when to eat it is a tool to control your eating.
  21. For six weeks, I just walked on the treadmill, stair master and stationary bike. There was no lifting involved and around week 5 I did a little Zumba with not much movement in my hips.
  22. Ready2BFit posted a blog entry in Ready2BFit's Blog
Well here I am approaching week 6 on Monday and have gained one pound. This is about to freak me out. i started back on soild food ffor the first time on Sunday and here it is Thursday and I am up 1.2 pounds. Is this normai? My first fill isn't until the 15th and I just want to do good. I'm going in the corner to cry
  23. This is greatly helpful for me. I will be five weeks post op on Monday and about to go crazy. My surgeon and bariatric coordinator both stated I wouldn't have my first fill until 6 weeks afterwards which is May 15th. Right now I have to consume at least 100 grams in protein shake before I even eat soup which is hard. Since my surgery, I have lost 16 pounds and the scale isn't moving as much. I know I was wrong but tonight I had two chicken strips and four fries...and what an awful feeling because I knew better but can we say I was full. Let me just say for the next 11 days until my fill, I am going to get back at it since I can start soft protein on tomorrow which will only be breakfast: 8oz protein (32 grams), 4 oz of grilled salmon and 1/2 cup of brocolli, 8oz protein (32 grams) for snack and dinner.
