  1. mine was swollen (where my port is located) for about a month. my dr said this is normal. being me, i asked why that is??.....well, because he said i cut your tummy and then sewed this thing in it and well, its healing..it did go down, it was tender for about a month and now its all good, (i can see a slight bulge as i am losing more and more). like knowing i got a secret weapon to help me lose weight.
  2. never--------this time last year, i could hardly walk and now i am a totally different person, this surgery gave me myself back and a more positive attitude and outlook on life. i wanted to be able to push my baby granddaughter around the block in her stroller because i couldnt a mere 6 months ago. But i can now......life is great.
  3. it will get better (as time goes by but i know it doesnt seem like it). unlike others, gas x didnt help me but i know that walking did (i couldnt walk far) but walked as often as i could...i also had alot of BM's and was the bathroom queen...per my dr's ok, i took immodium AD and also started a daily probiotic that def helped my tummy. i still take one daily (i open the capsule and put in my daily morning Protein shake)....so continue with what you are doing. you are still very soon out of surgery and you need to recovery. take a hot shower, use a heating pad, use your pain meds and just let your body heal...hang in there as i promise it will get better.,
  4. no but i have read bandwagon by jeannie mcmillian. i am sure this one you asked about is very similiar to the bandwagon.
  5. could be. i dont see it that way, but that is me. like you i have (dieted) and had great success but always gained it back...so whatever. this surgery is a tool that is there for people who need help to get healthy...it saved my life...its not easy. (trust me 36 days of all liquids is not a short cut)...so see this as something that is going to make you healthier. those who say bad things about WLS dont understand or are just stupid. everyone has a a-hole just like everyone has an opinion. if you want it, go for it.
  6. along with the serious exercise, eating your allotted amount of food as well as fresh fruits and veggies and a positive attitude can help also to lose weight... i say this as i started out way bigger than you. and i am hanging in there as best i can. so i want you to also...usually, from what i read, too big of bites, or chewing too fast etc, can cause you to be sick or throw up etc....so how about back to basics, baby bites and see what happens..but def refer to your dr and your heavy concerns. i am so hoping a great new year for you sir., and your wife
  7. also, the larger a person is at the beginning (after surgery) can tend to lose more also...no idea why. but as long as someone is losing (and doing it the right way) all the better.
  8. hi pebba i love drinking with my meals...or i did...i drink right up til i start eating and then wait for up to 1/2 hour after...if i need a sip, i take one..but i know if i drink, it will slide the food right on thru to make room for more...just a habit we got to break..dont sweat it if you have a sip every so often but def try to not drink if you can...doing good so far
  9. i use the why extreme from walmart (my dr okay'd) 14.99 per gallon tb many flavors..delicious..
  10. eat smart (healthy protein foods/veggies/fruits) exercise, and you will get there. just let the band work and you help it
  11. love you eye candy
  12. there was about 2 or 3 yesterday..one hit my blogs and inputted like 45 updates on one trying to sell gucci i report them, then block... i also reported the 2 i saw today
  13. well, speaking for me, my 5 incisions at 6 months out are barely visable...the only one you can (visually see) is port one. its a very light pink. to me its not a big deal as i dont blame on being in my pink polka dot bikini anytime soon..but as the time passes, they do fad.... i have had several major surgeries, and the scars are almost not there.
  14. because i dont have any fills yet, i am def using my (mind want power) in eating only my allotted amounts and trying to stay focused on the big picture. i sometimes wish i had a fill but i see that as an insurance policy on my side...best of luck
  15. nothing wrong with eating. so what is done is done. today is a new day Gf. do the best you can right now. hang in there.
  16. i felt (esp when my shoulder started hurting and i became bathroom queen) WTF was i thinking.......but i realized and this is what has got me through it all, that i have something to help me...to lose weight..i know right now you are healing and its sore and it hurts, but just imagine where you will be this time next year...that is what i think or tell myself .....congrats on your surgery hon.
  17. def call 911 if you are having bad thoughts about hurting yourself and doing drugs to help you forget is just stupid. you didnt gain weight overnight and it wont be gone overnight..am sorry you are struggling so.
  18. sounds like a way for the band to say you ate too much or too fast....my sign is a baby hiccup...
  19. at 1 month post op, it was whatever as tolerated...small bites, chew alot....stop at 1 cup and stop after 20 minutes...
  20. i had the hernia repair. it was painful to take deep breaths but it does get better. if you are in such pain 12 days out, call your dr and let them advise you.
  21. did your doctor not give you a hand out as to what is okay or not? (its best for you to rely on your dr as what works for some of us may not work for you)...
  22. my short goal right now is to get under 200. i really want to see 199
  23. no because 6 months ago i could hardly walk and i was at 336 pounds.....i only regret i did not have the mind set to get this surgery sooner. it saved my life... all want power.
  24. i reported it and also (blocked) the person as they hit my status' and blogs heavy this a.m.
