  1. i had 1/2 glass of white wine on xmas eve. first time i had any alcohol since may (when i started my pre op)
  2. i stop at a cup of food period its all about (want power). i want to lose weight bad enough that i am willing to do whatever i have too to make it happen and that means following my dr's instructions and eating proper nutrition.
  3. well, when you got this band, i hope the dr told you it would not be easy...there is a reason we do the pre and the post op diets..i agree its very hard. since july, (after my post op days) i havent had one bit of soup as i was so tired of it for a month straight. trust me, been there/done that... it takes more than will power...all about WANT power....you have to want this bad enough to stay with it..if you give in now, you will only hurt yourself and you came too far for that....
  4. when i was on 2 1/2 weeks liquids pre and then for 2 weeks after, it was liquids in and liquids out for me..did not have this issue. hope you feel better.
  5. i am 6 months out and my biggest scar was about 2 inches long and is a very faint pink now..barely noticable...the other4 incisions, you cant even see. truthfully, its not really worrying about.
  6. you are still very swollen on the inside hence why you are hungry or seem full as you heal, your appetite will return..it did with me..and your positive thinking will need to come into play...liquids are liquids and will pass straight thru..please sip sip and sip...once you start (eating) just stop at 20 minutes and my dr suggested waiting 30 min after eating.....i think you are going to do just great
  7. merry christmas and happiest of holidays to everyone
  8. as you should, you are making yourself well and to live a long healthy life let the band do its job and you help it and you will do great. i just know it.
  9. well, go slow on sipping and any eating (if any) that your doing...make sure you stop eating at 20 min regardless..i dont burp much and never had but it sounds cute to feel them in your toes
  10. not for me..but i read posts where some people have issues and some dont..i think its a learn as you go process..i just take wee bites and chew alot of whatever i eat..i know what i wrote dont help but its my answer..hang in there.
  11. just get right back on track..you said your portion size was an issue..so stop.. stop at your allotted amount and eat your protein and veggie and fruit..you are doing so well..i can only dream of weighing what you weigh right now...keep drinking too to help you combat head hunger vs real hunger...you can do it..hang in there.
  12. congrats on your surgery...i too wasnt hungry for about 2 weeks because my insides were still swollen. as the healing goes down, our appetite will come back. now is the time to get your positive attitude and band commitment in check...focusing on getting your liquids in and your protein..hang in there okay
  13. hey moma is there a reason you are angry?? i can relate though. i was so unhappy for a long time because of my weight that i took it out on everyone..i think in time it to shall pass... hang in there.
  14. you so overthinking this in my opinion the band will help you eat less so eat and then stop at your allotted amount you want a piece of pie, eat a small piece, have some of everything the holidays is for spending time with family and friends..and being happy if you spend any extra time pining for something, you wont be happy i am very strict on my food but if i come across something i want, i am gonna have a wee bit..eating a little bit of holiday cheer wont make you gain all your weight back..you have done so well, so keep going...
  15. i am a stomach sleeper also was banded 6 months ago, band is a-okay
  16. me shy? not me waited all of 4 days..dr said if it hurts, stop or switch positions...
  17. veggie snack chips (if they are in a bag), they are processed and full of sodium and preservatives....best to eat fresh fruit and veggies.
  18. if you are on liquids only, no peppers...didnt your dr give you a hand out of what you could or couldnt have?? because we all have different drs, its best to go by what your particular dr suggests...because what works for me, may not be what your dr wanted you to follow
  19. if you are doing things right, no bad things should be happening... and thats just fine with me. ..i do not have any side effects except losing weight..also, congrats on your weight loss
  20. sometimes i wake up because its uncomfortable, i just switch positions..
  21. nothing wrong with having alittle fudge. i hope it was good
  22. no, its scale junkie's poem and thought i share...i just added my dogs names
  23. Twas the month before Christmas when up on the scale I saw a number that made me turn pale I looked back to the past, to the beginning of the year and wondered out loud, “how the hell did I get here?” I could have just waited until the first of the year But that would only increase the size of my rear Instead of sleeping late, curled up in my bed I’ll put on my sweat pants and say healthy mantras in my head I’ll head out the door at dawns first light To Kabo and Kama these walks are a delight We’ll walk around the block and even try to jog It helps when your walking buddy is not one but two dogs I’ll fight with courage and determination To rid my body of this abomination I’ll work my ass off and I’ll eat right I won’t give up til I win this fight I’ll head to the store to chose healthy dishes I’ll grill up veggies, lean meat and fishes My body will be happy and start to look lean Join my adventure, you’ll see what I mean When I go to parties, I’ll make a plan To the food pushers, I’ll make a stand I’ll spend the night munching on crudités So I won’t feel guilty at all the next day I’ll be mindful of portions and their sizes I walk, I’ll lift and try new exercises And when the first of the year does arrive I’ll smile with delight wearing a smaller size scale junkie wrote this
