  1. am scared for you and i am also very sorry you are dealing with this. your life, your health is what matters...and i know from reading posts on this forum, that stress can make you un-hungry, and the and tight etc..def stay in contact with your dr (both pcp and your lap band dr) yrs ago, when i was having intense pain, i kept going to the er as it hurt so bad..finally one night, hub told them you are keeping her til you fix her (turns out i needed emergency gallbladder surgery)..like the one poster said, stay on them..its your life and your health.
  2. the most difficult thing one can do is remain the same and watch their life make them so unhappy that they didnt want to live. that was me 8 months ago. i was a diet pro (i can say i am now happily retired) and i lost and gained i would guess 200+ pounds...to me, failure means to not try...this surgery will help you lose weight (as long as you adhere to the band life)..once you understand its not a miracle cure all, you will find you can do anything you put your mind to..even if you dont think you can. there is nothing wrong with taking small bites and chewing alot (finally taste the food instead of inhaling it so fast as to move on to the next plate)...yes, if you change how and what you eat, you will be successful...dont focus on what was.............focus on what can be
  3. i took 8 days off, the majority if my co workers just knew i was on vacation. its your life, your business. if you wanna tell, tell. if not, then dont. thats how i see it. congrats on our wonderful decision
  4. your profile is blank so there is no way to know if you are pre or post op so i would say ask your dr to be sure ps happy birthday
  5. pattygirl, you will be there soon
  6. be careful and safe my snow birds...
  7. just keep walking and moving..it will eventually move its way out..def stay ahead of the pain with the meds if it helps..i know it doesnt seem like it, but it does get better each and everyday. congrats on your surgery. ps, great job on letting your dr know you were hurting. that is what you should do and you sent a great message to people by writing that.
  8. your loss is amazing and i am proud of you..you keep going and i got a long way to go also but as long as we get there, it doesnt matter how long it takes
  9. to me, to fail mean to stop trying...you are not failing.. i strongly believe that even if it feels the band is not working, it is..just stay with it as missy said.. and so what you arent losing fast neither am i and boy do i every get frustrated..but i just hang in there..the only thing i can offer is be aware of the calorie intake..3500 calories is a pound whether its ate or drank so do try to not take in more than you can burn off. you are a success..believe it.
  10. yeah i saw them and my hub said we should have made a video at my before and i can tell you i would not have even looked at the camera nor believed i'd lose a pound....and i admit i am having trouble seeing myself in the mirror or a reflection right now but i would have said to the girl on june 6 (the day i had surgery) see what happens when you do what the dr said to do.....
  11. i can speak from experience that i let (everything) people say or think affect me.. when i had surgery, i told some friends i work with and my hub...i was concerned slightly that my co workers would think, man are you that lazy to eat right that you need surgery? you fat cow, whats wrong with you? what was wrong is i was killing myself...but it has saved my life...i have no doubt. i am doing this for me. dont like...deal with it i am finding me again and i am strong and i am making it work.
  12. oh i eat, dont get me wrong...i also have one splurge meal a week..but i am strict and i am super aware of what i eat. i have to be..trust me, i have my own personalized lane at mcdonalds....
  13. i had a last meal day before pre op and went out in style and havent looked back..
  14. same here......no drinking while eating (period) nor do i eat junk food...that is what got me over 300 to begin with..
  15. to gain weight, one must take in more calories then they burn off as mis and cheryl pointed out, compliance with eating the proper portions and type foods is in effect regardless of what WLS one gets..i think if one says i need to get the sleeve or bypass in hopes they will lose because of the surgery itself, unless a change is made, it wont happen in the long run. have you talked to your surgeon and nutritionist about the foods you are eating?
  16. HOLY CRAP i have received FLAK for me saying just 94 let me redo my post please before a certain number of gals i know hang me from the highest cactus tree so sammy hagar cant reach me.. I have lost 94 pounds since June 6. how f***ing great is that. is that better my peeps??????????
  17. did you call your military insurance? (tricare is what i have). i am sure they could offer you something...keeping fingers crossed you get the answer you are looking for.
  18. i must not have read that..apparently for good reason.
  19. do you think a probiotic would help? my dr put me on that 2 days post and it (helped me alot).
  20. another fantastic post sharon. may i add....it shouldnt matter how long it takes you to get there but as long as you get there........what i keep telling myself
  21. i agree deedee. we all have had a weight problem. and we know how it feels to have this surgery. alittle kindness goes along way and compassion. i try to have alittle of each. although i admit, i at times can become incensed as the sheer stupidity of those who seemingly dont care.
  22. great post. thanks for sharing your thoughts
  23. I admit I have never thought about it slipping. I am doing what I need to in order to help it. I feel me worrying about something that may or may not happen wont do anything but cause me to go even more nutso that I already am. You are gonna do fine.
