Reality Check
sometimes those who lose (faster) are a lot bigger than the others who are just starting (aka me for one).....and its now I am at when the majority people have surgery...each person is different and will lose different and be different. I compare myself daily to everyone on this forum (those with fills for example, could I be doing better if I had one??)......we be our own worst enemy. part of that diet mentality we were brought up with I guess. YOU my dear are doing super duper fantastic. GREAT JOB.

I finally did it. I've lost 200 pounds
congrats to a heck of a nice person.

sweet cravings!
like TMF, fruit quenches me...apple slices (add a smidge of peanut butter if you want) or my fave here at work is hot chocolate..works for me..

To weigh or not to weigh?
I am the odd ball of the bunch here. I weigh in at my monthly dr follow up appts. Works for me.

Thank you all !!!
this is a great place with a lot of great folks. i have been on here for over a year now...i know i would not be doing as well if i had not met some the people i have on here... just believe in yourself as we believe in you. all i can say is, if you think you can, you will...

Still a long way to go.... But
if you ever get down, or think its not working (the band) look at these pictures you posted. cos honey, it is working and you look so terrific. a picture is worth a zillion words.

My new journey begins...
best of luck. just stay positive and do what the doctor advises you to do. it will get (harder) before it gets easier, but it is so worth it. having support is what makes it alot smoother. This is your year.

:-)
i agree with TMF dont have surgery and either get bigger or remain where you are or have the surgery, follow the dr's instructions and lose weight and get healthy. every surgery (including manicures) have risks. up to you to weigh the options and decide. just dont think this is an easy way out. if you want surgery and expect a month later to have lost 100 pounds, dont have this surgery.

Crying and cant stop.. Day 4
well good news is you will (eat again) once you have healed and the swelling goes down..its a hard process....but the posters have gave you great advice. please re-read all the posts and take it to heart......especially the one about stopping reading the negative posts...does you no good.......i know you dont believe it, but it will get better......each day that passes will bring a sense of progress. be strong.......head up...shoulders back, strap them high heels on and look at your future....YOU did this for you......you will be happy, you will be healthy and you will be a SUCCESS.

stayin strong..
congrats on the surgery. i am sure just (walking a smidge would not hurt anything) but always follows your doctors guidelines in regards to everything. best of luck

If I Did Right How Can It Go Wrong?
if one is doing all they can (eating good healthy foods, drinking alot, exercising as much as they can) it DOES NOT matter what the scale says or does not say.....what matters is what we feel and how we feel about ourselves.. j/s do our best, all we can do
-
Pre op diet
it will get harder before it gets easier but if your mind game is set on full blown want power, you will succeed far beyond what you could ever imagined for yourself. hang in there and keep drinking
-
Port pain after ab workout
i was very sore/tender for about a good month after surgery...it felt like pulling (i thought i tore something but dr assured me i did not).....its scar tissue forming..it will get better but if its very strenuous, it may cause discomfort...just be careful and if overly concerned, as the poster said, call your dr and let them advise you on this.

Hiatal hernia repair
i had it also, and didnt know until i woke up and my dr told me..way i see it, one less thing for me to worry about..my port incision was tender for about a month...did not hurt but was sore and then tender as the scar tissue formed...i just did the normal liquid tylenol (cvs brand) when it got uncomfy....congrats on your surgery

Day 3 of pre-op diet

Banded 3-22... Question
as you heal you will get hungry again at least i know i did...the band wont make that go away ...def a battle but one so worth winning keep drinking and just realize as each day passes, it gets easier. the insides are healing, and swollen from sutures and if someone eats too much or too big so soon, it could hurt so why they normally say stick with liquids so the insides can heal good news, it will get easier...now is a good time to get positive thinking and want power working. hang in there
-
getting the band tomorrow
be over before you know it......just think positive, sip sip and sip some more and REST look forward to reading how your post op goes in the coming days
