  1. i didnt focus on a number to lose when i started...i only wanted to lose enough to push my granddaughter around the block in her stroller....larger bmi people can lose more at the beginning, its just how it is....but as others so perfectly said, if you expect to lose weight, thats great, but it wont happen overnight... how successful you are or how unsuccessful you are is based on you.
  2. that full feeling will pass...great job on weight loss
  3. a penis is just a penis...........just another d i ck
  4. just drink when thirsty and when you think you are hungry...it adds up... you probably take in more than you realize as bayou posted...I drink all day and the long walks to the bathroom here at work (74 steps one way) help me. ....
  5. let us know what dr says.....keeping you in my thoughts..
  6. you will.....and you will follow your own path.....i know you can do it... now YOU believe you can...i got all the faith in ya.
  7. love all the different answers. i understand reasons people gain weight.....we all have had bad things happen and makes us depressed/miserable/turn to food/drink for comfort...i accept that....understand that.....heck i did that......that bag of doritos wasnt gonna hurt my feelings.......but what i know is that everyone who is (fat/obese) got that way the same way.....by eating more calories than they burned off. that is how i did it...i have lost a zillion pounds numerous times and always gained it back by me eating more then i burned off.....i am not putting down anyone and years of therapy helped me with issues.....i have no idea why i wrote this. thanks eye candy for putting this article on here. i read it yesterday.....to lose weight is easy,,,its the mind change that is a b i t ch
  8. wonder if there is a tax or extra pay for being too gorgeous too?? i heard this topic (thanks for sharing mis)
  9. well bless your heart that brightened my whole day. i am very lucky but also know he is very tough on me. on my pre op diet, i was whining and he told me to woman up....you wanted this surgery, then do what you have to do to make it happen/work...def a rock in my corner..he keeps me straight and doesnt coddle me.....def what i need....hence why i am the way i am on here...again, your words were super sweet and i thank you for taking time out to say them to me.
  10. just do your best, you deserve it
  11. i loved your last sentence: change is hard and most of us being human don't like change...
  12. what you said sojo is 100% dead on i dont feel as if you were bashing. you are only suggesting the right thing to do.. follow and do what your doctor said to do... its not easy and it shouldnt be seen as a easy fix to lose weight......i use many times a simple red light for example... if you come to a red light at a busy intersection, are you going to run the light or are you going to stop? you make the decision.....if you want to have this surgery, then follow the instructions as they were given to you in order to be successful. i cheated all my life on (diets) and now i realize i was only cheating myself. ..the band gave me a (help) and i told myself if i was able to have this surgery, i would do whatever i had to do to make it work...i developed want power.....want power to where i want it bad enough to do it.... and like some, i have been the brunt of fat jokes, stares etc....but the one who was hardest on me and my weight was myself.....i took responsibility for it..and sojo was trying to advise this poster to do that.
  13. yes i also have noticed this and i am still a relative newbie myself i am seeing (and reading on this forum) people continue to want overnight/quick loss and (incorrectly) assume that sleeve/bypass/ds will get them that quicker than the lap band......heck my dr wanted me to do the bypass himself (my ins did not cover the sleeve). and the one connection i see is that many are thinking just having WLS will make you lose weight and you can still eat/drink as you did to make you need that surgery in the first place.....and if you have surgery and you dont lose, the surgery is a failure and then its on. to lose weight, with the band or any other WLS, you must (and i feel this to be true) one must change what they eat and have a mental change)...from i cant to i want too one must (help themselves) before anything can help them.
  14. surgery made your life better and that is what its all about. what a wonderful post from you. congrats to you sir
  15. i listen to the great one who hold wabbit gun.......chew alot, take small bites and go slow.....you taught me welll.....running behind grammy now,.
  16. i also feel (if a marriage is shaky) to begin with (as mis stated) having WLS wont make a difference in regards to the marriage.. it may help or it may be the breaking point some go into this (WLS) without a clue as to what happens/what to expect/what to do i read it daily its a mental change..... since i have had WLS, my confidence has improved 10 fold..my ole man finds that sexy....out comes the short sun dresses, heels....he is not (oh my gosh is my ole lady leaving me for someone else)..he is saying you feel good, you work it girl.... how i see it...have the surgery, feel better about yourself and enjoy life..i am not sure but hope i havent hi-jacked this thread with my rant here...
  17. only your dr will know if it is okay. the liquid diet is to get your liver/inside ready for surgery just remember, after surgery, if you eat something too soon (on a cheat) you could hurt yourself...best to try and follow the doctors instructions now...they are in place for a reason. i did a 2 1/2 week all liquid before surgery and 2 week after..so i have been there/done that. my dr told me that if he operated and my insides werent (as they needed to be with the help of the liquid diet, he would not operate). that scared me enough to hang in there...its gonna get tougher before it gets easier and it will...best of luck to you.
  18. you can either have the surgery and do what it takes to make yourself well...or not have it and possibly get bigger...do this for you and do not let anything sway you.. as nudie says, its a personal decision and not a easy fix...its a life changing surgery and if you chose whichever, use it properly and see what happens....but make no mistake, any surgery has pros and cons..no one is better than the other *regardless of whom says what*......this is about you and what you want. ....like line, best thing i ever done.....9 months ago i had trouble walking and beginning to have issues wiping my butt......my decision was easy. get help and then do what i had to do to make myself well.....
  19. in my eyes, a loss is a loss. and if you are losing (inches) then you are losing... odd that people dont realize/accept that.
  20. absolutely yes it can. but why not just use the tool you have? it works and if you (help it) it will help you.
  21. well good for you. let that motivate you to keep on going, GREAT news.
  22. congrats to you my dear. just think, a new you is ready to bloom, just like all the dogwoods outside my window here at work....
  23. well i eat (when i am hungry) similar to how a baby eats.. i make sure its protein (filling and keeps me fuller longer) and i drink alot (to help differ if i am hungry or just think i am..you will find and do what works for you...i dont have any fills as my dr feels i am loosing just fine also.
  24. i use whey extreme from walmart in chocolate about 14.95 per tub. my dr/nut okay'd this. it is so good and is 28 grams protein per scoop i drink one a day even now 9 months post op. i tried alot of flavors but this is one i enjoy. i also have put in freezer to get to a slush like texture. 100% delicious and why i have one now....i also like knowing i have that extra (umph/protein)..
  25. great news on the follow up with the doctor very sad to read the other...
