I havent always been big, when I was 11 or so my grandma told me I was fat. She said that because my cousins were skinny as rails and I was a size 10 and 5'6". That was the only time I talked back to my grandma, I told her to shut up! My mom slapped me and I ran to the car, my mom then chewed her out and told her to NEVER talk to me like that again. That was my first memory of being told I was fat when I wasnt. From then on out, I thought I was fat and it wasnt until my first breakup that I gained weight. I was a size 16 at 17 yrs old and size 18 by the time I was 20. A divorce and a baby later, I was up to size 24. After a second marriage, baby two and a call center job I was (am) up to 298 lbs. Im the biggest Ive been, I see people staring at me all the time. I use to think it was my hair, strangers compliment my waist-long hair all the time. I didnt feel fat, I would see other overweight people and think "I dont look that bad, do I?" then someone would take a full body pic of me and I was shocked...YES, I do look big. My father in law made a comment to my husband a couple of years ago (and 50 lbs lighter). I had taken over payments on my cousins sports car and the personlized license plate was "Tnz o fun" because the car really was fun to drive. My father in law saw it and said to my husband "I wonder what people think when they read that license plate and see her driving it" my husband never once had that idea pop into his mind and he was like "what?" and ever since then Ive had this bad taste in my mouth for his dad (and others in his family). Now that I have a 2 year old running around, its hard not being able to chase after him or keep him busy. I dont want my kids to carry on the bad eating habits that ive had...not eating a lot of food but I didnt eat healthy foods. Ive wanted the band for a while now, I waited a year to be able to switch insurances to one that would cover the procedure. Ive been on my pre op diet almost two weeks and my procedure is in two days. Im excited and its encouraged my husband to work out more too...not that he needs it lol but he is diabetic and it definitely helps regulate his sugar. I love to work out and Im very excited to see my hard work pay off!!
